El Agave is adequate for Maryland Mexican food which is to say the food is sweet and salty. If you are looking for something more authentic and, dare I say, hot -- keep on looking. The pork in the chili Verde was mostly fat. The carnita was okay. We came on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy. Even so the service was rather slow and uninspired. We asked that a fresh jalapeno be chopped and cooked in the green chili sauce to heat it up. The request was beyond the comprehension of the wait staff and cooks. Twice they brought out a condiment cup with a pickled jalapeño. Finally they brought a roasted jalapeño after we were nearly done with dinner. So we continue searching for Tex Mex in Baltimore. Sigh.

nice little catonsville gem. i came here religiously every tuesday for taco tuesday for a few month and i was never unsatisfied with my food or service. granted they can be a little slow at times but they are always respectful to their patrons. menu is also not as extensive as other mexican restaurants ive been to but none the less i love this place. cant go wrong with dinner from here!

Im here probably twice a week and love it. Friendly staff, the game is always on, the food is great (chicken chimichangas are my favorite), and happy hour is cheap. Definitely worth checking out, some of the best and most consistent Mexican around. And I love the Spanish music, it makes it feel authentic because it is. And the complimentary chips and dip are the best Ive ever had

I like this place. Some of the items are authentic and some are not. So depending on your mood you can mix it up. The food is pretty good, at least enough to satisfy a Mexican food craving. I will say they have a nopales (cactus) pico de gallo which I havent seen anywhere else and it is delicious.

Great authentic Mexican cuisine. It is not a fancy place its the hole in the wall with yummy food and drinks I cant wait to try. Ive been there more than a couple of times and introduced friends to it just today (friends introduced it to me - and I passed the recommendation on ;) ).

I come here to eat regularly and the service is wonderful. The food is good but portions are a bit small.the drinks are also well made and comparable for your money. Only complaint is the music is non stop Hispanic and I dont know spanish..lol..it worth a night out..

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today and had a spectacular experience. I got the seafood chimichanga, and its the best one Ive ever had. My boyfriend had the beef one, and the beef was pulled and tender. Were definitely coming here again! ❤️

The food is some of the best. Carry out is our goto option and 4/5 times we are either missing part of the order or have the wrong order all together. 2 times now Ive made it home under one of these circumstances. I now check before leaving.

Excellent Mexican restaurant!! Food is delicious and nice serving sizes. I love the California burrito, chicken Texas tacos and the El Agave nachos. My son loves the seafood quesadillas and my husband likes everything beef he has tried

Absolutely one of the better Mexican restaurants in the nearby area. Specials are great, especially Wednesday. They dont stiff you on drinks either. I wish the place were bigger and got a bigger crowd because it surely deserves it!
