First off, the food was EXCELLENT. If this was just about the food it would be 5 stars. I was there this afternoon with my wife, infant, a friend, and her baby as well. When we arrived the water jug from the previous diners was left on our table and despite asking for water 3 times, it was not cleared until mid meal service and never replaced while we were there. It took a long time to have drinks served and both coffee and mixed drinks were served in disposable containers which seemed very odd and cheap. There appeared to be several coffee mugs behind the bar, but they may have been for decoration. When served our coffee, no cream or sugar was provided and we were instructed to get it off a cart in the dining area. On the cart, the cream was empty and they had no stirrers or splenda so we used what we could find - milk and sweet and low. The cart appeared to have individual creamer copper cups on it, but they may have been decorative as well. Service was slow, but there were only 2 waitstaff in the entire restaurant. Waitstaff was polite but unapologetic for the obvious delays. As said before the food was amazingly delicious. Presentation was nice but all meals were served on top of brown paper (on top of plastic plates that were made to look like shiny metal) that easily shredded when cutting our meals (pretty but impractical). We did not receive flatware until we asked for it after our meals were served. There were several sauces on our table but I was hesitant to use them as they were all missing tops with the exception of the ketchup. One sauce in particular looked like it had a temporary cover of plastic wrap and a rubber band but the plastic wrap had a hole in it. From what I could tell from other tables, the original tops were cork and must have been lost. Again, pretty but impractical. The food was expensive.

Best brunch on earth. Food is amazing and mimosas are strong. I gave it a 4 because their hours are COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE!!! Currently, its mid-July and Ive heard theyre not reopening until September!! There is no notice posted at the restaurant except "Sorry we"re closed". I see many frustrated people who drive a long way only to find the restaurant closed during their normal business hours. Never go here without calling first to make sure they are open and that you can get in. Its too bad that the food is so awesome, but the management/hours of operation are such a mess. Also, I think theyve missed out on a lot of business by not marketing more effectively in the Federal Hill neighborhood where they are located. Just sayin.

Place is small but they definitely nail the rustic vibe of eating at home. Food does take a little longer to come out, but trust me, its well worth the wait. I ordered the Backyard Pimp sandwich: fried chicken topped with fried egg, bacon, and Home Maid sauce served on a brioche bun. Delicious. The sweet potatoes that came on the side were perfect. The sweet and salty blend of flavors were fantastic. Next time I come I will have to do the chicken and waffles. On a Sunday, the wait wasnt too bad but we got there before 12 noon. After that, I noticed a decent amount of people waiting near the door and outside. Just try to get there early! This place is a must-try.

Home Maid is a very cute restaurant. The interior is absolutely delightful. It has a very rustic feel to it. I wish I could say the same for the food. The service was slow. The Waitresses are very nice but also forgetful. I wasnt in love with their food my eggs were a little runny I barely got bacon because they ran out and my French toast had a very soggy inside. I wasnt pleased with their food. I will say this they do have good drinks. The Mimosa or mint tea with brown sugar is awesome. And not to mention it was the priciest meal ever for something that wasnt even good.

i almost gave this place 5 stars but i have issue with paying $4.00 for a simple cup of coffee which the waitress took at least 20 minutes to bring to the table (as opposed to bring right away when drinks and all were ordered). Besides that, it was difficult to get her attention as she seemed to avoid eye contact with our table. Putting that aside, the restaurant is very quaint and cozy. Lovely spot for brunch. The food was very good, fresh and well put together. May stop by the next time in near Baltimore. Hopefully then the waitress will be in a more attentive mood.

Food was great! But after paying $4 for the meter only to walk in and discover that they literally went from dine in to carry out only overnight! I brought my husband for his birthday along with packing up our two kids. Only to walk into an empty, table and chair-less building. I already knew how awesome the food was, but he had never gone. Carry out, did not give him the full experience of how awesome the food really is. By the time we got all the way back home it was cold and blah. And warmed over breakfast is never good :(

Had us move to another table because a vip group was coming? They never did show. Then wanted me too sit at the end of the table with little room with my group instead of just joining another small table to ours. Servers had a verbal altercation after I was asked to move Again back to the orginal table. A bit of a cluster there. However they did give me a free biscuit and Fiji water for the inconvenience. Some plates are small and others fair size. Not a bad place but not a 4 star or better for sure.

Good brunch spot with a simple little menu and fun decor, but the prices were unwarranted for brunch in Baltimore. Chicken and Waffle (no s) was $20 which is about $5 more than what I was expecting, especially for the portion size. Service was ok, and so was the coffee, so I am not sure how they could justify the prices. Its a fun spot, but I worry it will not survive in the heated Baltimore brunch market at the current price points.

I really hope this place improves, because the food is actually very good. However, for the prices they are charging, I expected a lot more than what I got out of our last visit. Coffee took 45 minutes to get to us. Half of our food never arrived. We couldnt mention it because the waitress actively avoided us out of what I assume was embarrassment... I dont blame her. But damn those biscuits were good... Get it together Home Maid!

I ordered the Rooster & to my suprise it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was very tender & the buscuit was fluffy the way i like. I ordered mines with cheese grits. Ive never had cheese grits before today & fell in love. Only issue i see is the seating area is very intimate (small). I had planned to eat in & read a book but decided to take out after seeing the tight space. Ill definitely return for the good food & service.

Good food, poor service. My wife and I went for brunch, she ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered french toast. Both were good except mine was supposed to come with bacon but it never arrived. We also ordered a side of grits and those never showed up either. There was never an offer to refill our drinks or ask us how we were doing. I would go back for the food but the service needs improvement.
