The manager of this Cafe treated me with so much disrespect, I will never spend money here ever in life. Her name is Gia. I was staying at the Monaco after having proposed to my fiancé the night prior. We wanted to eat in the hotel so I called this restaurant to place an order. Gia answered my call and immediately placed me on hold when I indicated that I wanted to make a pick up order. She then placed the phone on the bar where she was stationed and went back to having a 10 minute conversation with folks seated at the bar. I sat on the phone and listened to her rant about all sorts of things, from the Ravens to Donald Trump, while she completely forgot about me and continued to hold court. After 5 minutes, the laughter and boisterous banter became too much for my patience and I left my hotel room, still holding on my cell, and walked the 3 blocks to the restaurant. Needless to say, Gia did not attempt to assist me until she heard her own voice on my cell phone speaker as I stood in front of her speechless. When she finally realized her grave error after being confronted, instead of being apologetic, she became defensive, she refused to give me her name, and refused to put me in contact with the owner of the establishment. She even had the nerve to question my frustration with the situation in general. I left my contact info with another employee for the owner but I havent heard anything. This place obviously does not care about potential customers. If you are looking for professionalism and service, avoid this place like the plague.

Worst experience ever! My boyfriend and I decided to go after finding a deal on Groupon. We arrived at 11:30 am and waited 15 minutes before we were greeted. When the host finally came over and took our names he said it would be a 20-25 minute wait. We were seated at 1:00pm. After being seated it was an additional 15 minutes before the waitress greeted us. She approached the table, introduced herself and asked what drinks wed like to order. Due to the amount of time we waited we placed both our food and drink orders at that time. I ordered hot tea and water. She only brought my tea. There were no utensils at the table and I had to request a spoon because she did not bring one when she brought the tea. I ordered the French Toast Dream with boiled eggs. When my food came my eggs were cold as if they had come right out of the refrigerator. The French Toast was room temp. My boyfriends order was incorrect and he had to request that his eggs be cooked with cheese as previously indicated when the orders were placed. Additionally, the lady beside us who was basically sitting at our table because of the "cozy" atmosphere sent her food back three times. Lastly, there were at least two tables that arrived after us and were seated and done eating by the time our food even arrived to the table. I wont ever go back.

Outside guests and visitors new to town, take for your own word and following reviews below. I was truly hoping to write a good review on this place , because it was local and had some what decent reviews. But from the moment I sat down and waited 15 minutes before someone came up to me and said Hi would you like something to drink" I knew something wouldnt be right. Food: I ordered chicken and red velvet waffles and I could almost bet you it was strawberry waffles that was given to me. Food was also mildly warm and soft as if someone warmed it in the microwave. When the chicken arrived I asked for hot sauce and was told that they didnt have any/ or they were out. Now its 9 am in the morning what place doesnt have hot sauce for their breakfast. But after I questioned a few of the kitchen staff they went and found some. Staff: Now I will say the server and hostess seemed to be very polite and honestly just seems like a lack of communication and process between management and staff. The employees all look drained and over worked which might attribute to everything else. I write this review not because Im an upset customer, but because you can turn this restaurant around with a few changes. So take it as constructive criticism

Causual joint off the beaten path We stopped in for breakfast on our last day in the city. Our meals were lackluster, to say the least. I wanted to love this quaint little, veteran owned cafe! But several factors give it a 3 overall. The positive, our waitress - while slightly over attentive - had a great upbeat attitude. If she had given us time to calculate a tip & discuss the bill without hovering at the table I might have scored a little higher. The not so good. Over $60 for three people for breakfast - yikes! Ok, so two of us had the seafood omlettes. The eggs were dry & there was not a lot of crab or shrimp going on in either omlette. Not worth the price. The other member of our party had the French Toast club, which was decent. Lastly, we were sat in the basement - in a puddle. There was water all over the floor down there. Not leftover from a fresh mopping, but honest to goodness inch deep water. It made heading up the curving stairs to the bathroom treacherous. While I love the concept of this place, we probably wont go back the next time were in town.

I was visiting Baltimore for business related things. I am young and stupid though. So the trip was pretty miserable for me. One morning I decided to escape the business scene and go for brunch/breakfast. Nothing in the area looked good until I found this literal hole-in-the-wall place in a fancy alleyway. At first I was just glad to find a place to eat. But as soon as I got inside I was welcomed heatedly by a cook and what seemed to be a manager. It was nice to talk to regular people away from the convention center. I was craving some french toast because it made me think of my childhood and how my mother would brighten my morning with her home made french toast. After ordering it and taking my first bite it really brought me back. It tasted just like my moms. I was hundreds of miles away from home but the food and staff there made me feel a bit closer. Thanks.

The food was great, but the service was terrible. I went with a group and we were attending a conference so we were from out of town. After we ordered, we waited over an hour for our food to be served. One of the people in our group ordered strawberries and vanilla waffles only to get caramel and blackberries since it was the only thing they had. After we finished the food, we were told by our server that they didnt seperate the orders and charge individuals. When we said we were out of town and didnt know. The person answered that it was on the website. I checked the website ahead of time and didnt see anything that said that. The servers and staff were nice. The manager was mean and kept on rushing to get us out since we had such a big group. Never again. A+++ for cooking And F for service
