After living in NYC next door to a ramen place, we have been missing ramen since we moved to Ohio. Noodlecat was the closest one, which was still and hour drive. So for Valentines dinner I took my fiancé to Noodlecat, and wow what a mistake. The ambience is pretty grimy, and where to I begin with the ramen. We both tried the homemade noodles but different styles. I had the pork and she had the chicken. They were both mostly inedible. The noodles were like eating playdough and the broths we both terrible. We thought the chicken broth most closely resembled some sort of cleaning supplies. We sat at the bar and the service was OK. Dont expect good service, its more of an order at the bar and take back to any table sort of place. Overall we were both extremely disappointed and didnt come close to finishing our meals. $50 later we went to Flannerys around the block to have a real dinner. Wont be going back and wouldnt recommend Noodlecat to my worst enemy.

Normally we like the Sawyer owned restaurants since we know going in that the food will be top notch. After this meal at noodlecat, we will seriously reconsider visiting any on the Sawyer restaurants again. There were 3 people in my party, and less than 20 people in the whole restaurant. Every single thing we ordered came out wrong, and missing ingredients. California avocado salad: missing the avocado and carrot, literally the first 2 ingredients. Pork miso: missing the pork and the egg, and I dont know what the flavor was, but it sure wasnt miss. Hangover Ramen, missing the potato, egg, and the hot sauce I ordered on the side. And to top it all off, everyday served lukewarm at best. There are a ton on downtown options, choose somewhere else. Were actually going somewhere else right now, my daughter couldnt even eat her food so were going somewhere else to get dinner for her.

This was the worst (and only bad) dining experience we had in Cleveland. The waitstaff was incredibly rude, and my dry under cooked soba came without any of the stuff that was supposed to be in it. After 15 minutes, after the soba was cold (and still uncooked), the rest appeared without apology or explanation (the first was delivered without any indication the rest would be coming). In fact the young man nearly threw the food at us. Jonathan Sawyer, the upcoming celeb chef owner, appears to be more concerned with self promotion than making sure this staff (all donning "Team Sawyer" tees) are even remotely courteous to patron or even know how to cook the food they are tasked with preparing.

I was really looking forward to trying this place. Met some friends from out of town on a Friday night at 7:30pm because we all wanted to try it. Ordered a bourbon on the rocks and they were out of bourbon. Ok. Ordered a Signature drink, out of Vodka. In fact, they were out of all liquor except gin. Ok. We ordered appetizers and were told they wanted to rake the, rest of our order as well. I didnt think anything of it until everything came out at once...cold. they said they closed early and thats why they brought everything out at once. Really? You want to rush us out so you can leave early? Very disappointed. We wont be back to that location. I will try the new one at Crocker park.

Always a great time at this small place. You can sit wherever you like unless you have a big group but still good for a decent sized group of 10-20. Great noodles whichever one you get for a decent price. Never had the rolls but my friends always enjoy them whenever they grab some. Interesting way to wait tables but always hassle-free and orders are always right since you usually fill out the forms yourself. Theyve got local beers and a decent selection of others on the menu. I live about an hour away and anytime I find myself up in Cleveland I try to eat here. Also in a very easy location, multiple parking decks nearby to park, eat and leave, or walk around.

So service was good and the atmosphere is pretty good too. Nice music. The buns are okay but the main dishes... Wow. Ive never felt so displeased with food. The brussel sprouts were overcooked and over salted. The noodles.. I had the curry with house noodles. It was like eating this bizarre pasta Alfredo with a curry flavor. It was very thick which is not something i was expecting for a noddle place.. I thought it was going to be some sort of curry broth. The tofu wasnt treated in any way either. It was just chopped up tofu and it was bland and mushy. I normally love tofu. I was still pretty hungry when I stopped eating... It was that bad

I stopped into this restaurant while trying to kill time waiting for a concert at the house of blues, and it was amazing! The waitress was super friendly and really helpful with recommendations on what to eat. I had the "super" salad and two of the steam buns: the japanese friend chicken and the pulled pork. The steam buns are fantastic! I could seriously just order 5 of the Japanese fried chicken ones and be more than happy. If you go here, you must try the steam buns, they are that good. My friend had one of the gf/vegan noodle options and she loved it as well. This place definitely deserves a shot, it is very delicious.

Foods were little bit salty but I enjoyed. But the fish cutlet had a lot of bones... I bit a big sharp bone and my mouth bleeded a lot. I tried to finish it but I couldnt coz there were more bones in it. I hope no more customers bite bones and taste blood... Despite that, everything was good. The overall service and food except that incident were good, and I did not have to pay as that happened. I felt bad for eating food and not paying but I appreciate the service. I was freaking tired as Id been traveling for 3 days and I did not want to talk. I probably looked salty too. But it was not a good experience at all.

I went here for the first time today. As for the food, this is my first ramen shop so I cant really judge on the authenticity but I will say I did not enjoy my dish but the waiter was nice to take it off my bill. However I dont believe that affects the food in general, I believe it was just my taste buds. The dish I got, was called a "fan favorite" by the waiter so I am sure it was just me. However, my issue was with the service. The staff seemed unfriendly and short. Honestly, I felt like I was bothering them just by being there. The place wasnt crowded at all, when we arrived there were only 4 people in total.

I am frequently in Cleveland for business, and will always make a point to eat here at least once during my trips. It is a small, quiet place, which is perfect for enjoying my favorite comfort food....Ramen. My last visit ai had the house ramen with pork and it was excellent....through in a really nicely done pork belly bun, and you have a great dinner for not too much money. Especially great on a cold Cleveland winter evening. Service is friendly and prompt. Lots of locals coming in for take-out attesting to this little places popularity locally.
