What can I say..but WOW! Incredibly awesome I knew from the moment I started eating the homemade sides that this was going to be Epic! The homeade sides I had were the baked beans with brisket and pork! Very good, the loaded potato salad with bacon!! What more can you say and the Chesapeake pickleback coleslaw, not your average mayonnaisey slaw at all youve got to try this stuff and it paira well with the sandwich, now on to the sandwich which for me was recommended by Dave and Paul which is known as the Big Dawg and man is this thing big!! Chopped brisket, sausages, red chili slaw and pickles, never before have I had it served like this..absolutely incredible...these guys definitely know there stuff and are a great bunch of guys..go try it for yourself and see, you will not be disappointed..oh yeah and their soda fountain is a unique one as well try the red cream birch beer..hands down the best Ive had and Ive tried them all...

Can I rate them six stars? We used Blue Pit BBQ for our wedding picnic and the experience couldnt have been better. Cara was completely devoted to making sure our experience was flawless! The food was amazing and we were lucky to get very good silverware and plates. The delivery and setup was flawless, on time and very quick (and this was food for 70 people!). Vegetarians were really happy with the jackfruit, and meat lovers were ecstatic (the chopped brisket was the best bbq meat Ive ever had). Whether you are looking to cater for 30 or 100 people, Im sure they wont disappoint. At first, we thought of going with one of the chain BBQ places, but decided to support a local business that we knew was great. Well, I am 100% sure none of the other BBQ places in Baltimore could have delivered such a great service. On top of that, Blue Pit was the most affordable of all options we reviewed!!

Definitely lacking in the Customer service department. The short guy, with beard, and green trim baseball cap. Was not pleasant at all. He was so terse and not very personable. It made me feel as if I did something wrong by asking him for a drink. At one point my jaw completely dropped because of his behavior. But if the guy doesnt like serving people drinks maybe he should find another job to do. Like sweeping floors, where he can be left alone. Food was okay. The sides portions were large. The meat was a little light in weight but overall moist and tender. $16 bucks for two meats and two sides. Not bad. The collard greens were great too.

To begin with, the service was absolutely outstanding. Very attractive, bearded men who know all about whiskey and soul food. It was a girls fantasy come true haha. But seriously, the bartnenders were helpful, knowledgeable, and fun. We had a sampling of the sides [ collards and mac n cheese were especially delicious] and a half rack of ribs that were cooked to perfection. The decor was charming. From the outside it might be easy to pass by, as its just a little corner spot in a mainly residential area. But once inside youre immediately transported to a down home juke joint vibe. Absolutely will be back.

Pretty disappointed. I went in there and sat at a table for more than ten minutes. One employee stared at me a bit but never said anything. In fact, no one said anything to me, greeted me, handed me a menu, or anything similar. While sitting I saw two other couples come in. Both were greeted and given menus almost immediately. It wasnt even that busy. Theres just no excuse for poor customer service like that. The food smelled good but I wont be going back, and I will be sure to tell people about my experience.

Incredible whiskey selection, whether you drink it straight up or in one of their cocktails. (Theres some creative people behind the bar - Ive yet to see a repeat!) The fact you can get BBQ here is almost icing on the cake - but what icing! Get the brisket if its not sold out. Get the pulled jackfruit if you dont eat meat -- or even if you do! Pro tip: Get there early for drinks so you secure your seat by the time the kitchen opens.

As a pescatarian, their jackfruit sandwich is great (vegetarian) and worth coming back for every time. Unfortunately, the sides are limited to mac and cheese, corn bread or coleslaw as options. Its a BBQ place and its nice to have options but I wish there where additional choices. All other sides have meats that cant be removed but sound great, for those interested. Good drinks, food, and service make it inviting for everyone.

Easily the best American whiskey list in Baltimore. The bartenders are masterful, and will make some of the best classic cocktails, and some awesome experimental ones, too. The food is hearty, delicious BBQ. Its dry rub, tender, and extremely flavorful. Its not haute-cuisine, but its easily some of the best food in Maryland. 2 years since writing, and its still brilliant. Worth it in every respect.

I live dangerously close to Blue Pit (literally around the corner), so its a place I find myself at pretty frequently. Awesome beer and whiskey selection, and the food is amazing. I walked in one night, had a couple beers, and before I left, they handed me an entire meal that someone never bothered to pick up. Cant recommend it enough!

A hip little place that was on the cusp of being pretty great. I loved the decor dedicated to dogs (adopt!), the atmosphere was relaxed, and the cocktail drinks were alright. Sadly, the service was highly inefficient and the food failed to live up to my expectations of pit-ty goodness.

Excellent selection of bourbons with a few that are hard to find with prices that are reasonable. Great bourbon cocktails as well as a decent tap sleecton. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. Food is very good although the brisket can be hit or miss - the sides are excellent.

The food here is great. The bbq sauces offer variety. Its not complete table service, youll have to place your order at the bar and then take a number back to your table. But the wait isnt really long and the staff is super friendly. Great for hanging out with a group of people.

The BBQ is okay, but the old fashions and Mules are great. I learned the hard way that all food orders must be taken at the bar or food desk, but the order come out fast and are delivered to your table. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.

Some of the rudest and most stuck up bartenders in Baltimore. The place and food is amazing, but dont bother asking any questions about whiskeys or cocktails, youll get nothing but attitude and being glared at for "wasting the bartenders time".

For a local lunch, Blue Pit is hard to beat. Great BBQ, great sauces, great staff, and great alcohol. Also the mac and cheese should be a required side order, just get it (Unless you dont consume dairy, in which case, my sincere condolences)

Wow. Just, wow. I come up from DC regularly to Baltimore, and this weekend stopped at Blue Pitt for the first time. I was blown away. Some of the best meat Ive had. Incredible value. Really good sauce too. Cant wait to return. Job well done.

My absolute favorite bar in Baltimore. Ive never ordered anything I didnt like, and Im obsessed with their brisket, macaroni and cheese, and rotating seasonal mules. When the weather is nice, I love to bring my dog and sit outside.
