Ill start off by saying that the food is great here. Ive never had a dish that I did not enjoy. All of their meats are smoked to perfection! It would be nice to see them open on Mondays and Tuesdays. I am leaving three stars because of various issues. The chairs are an inconvenience, they have very low back rests, which also lean a bit backwards so sitting down in them is very uncomfortable in my opinion. Their specials are very good, some of which should probably be on the regular menu, as it would increase the diversity of choices . A few times I have called in beforehand to see what the special is and the last time they did not seem very friendly about it. I think the chef(s) just decide what the special will be at the last moment. A little planning could go a long way. Lastly, the waiting staff could be instructed to do two small things that could go a long way. Please ask customers if they want a lemon in their water. Please tell customers before they decide on their menu choice if anything is "out of stock". Once again the food is delicious here, but the service could use some improvement.

The food at Harveys is stellar, I mean out of this world. Every member of my party of four verbally stated with each new food on their platter that "this is on point". Cole-slaw, baked beans, down to the fries. Everything was amazing. I would recommend this to anyone even just passing through. Im not local, if at all I might be here once more in my life. But if I pass through, I will be stopping in. Well done Harveys!! *Edited* Here I am two days after finishing this review, and stating that I will rarely ever be back. I went today and had a new meal, once again an amazing choice. Same four people in my party and the same four comments as before. And, as a humorous side, my wedding will be nearby come fall. SO, I see more Harveys in the future! Oh, and by the way... ignore the one star review on this restaurant. Its left by a bland account named "Get Rekt". The review is invalid.

The BBQ standards (pulled pork, brisket, ribs, chicken) are all excellent. There are several other things on the menu worth calling out, though. The burgers are some of the best in the area. The Babes Madeira wine reduction sauce makes it my personal favorite. The chili has won some local chili awards, and it deserves it. Not super spicy, but very flavorful. Probably my favorite items at Harveys are the sides, though. The baked beans are served with a BBQ sauce with nice chunks of bacon. The onion rings are... just awesome. Big rings of fresh onion in a perfectly seasoned coating. Weve been coming here for years, before they rebuilt the restaurant after the fire, and weve been eating their food since before the restaurant opened (local fairs, and their catering). Even though some of the faces have changed, the staff has always been very friendly and helpful.

Harveys has been a staple at the Elizabethtown fair for quite some time and now that they have opened a restaurant it only gets better. I have been a regular customer over the past decade since I first fell in love at the fair. I will continue to support them day in and day out. Their meats are exemplary to say the least and the home made sides only add to the mind blow you should be preparing to experience. If you ever pass up this restaurant when dining in this local area you will not know the crime you are committing to your taste buds. The only complaint I must have is that this place is not open 24 hours 7 days a week. About reviewer: 22 year old male soldier living roughly 5 miles from reviewed restaurant.

Great BBQ food, what a find. They have some of the best pulled pork in the area, and all the food is fresh. Ive tried the nachos, bbq pulled pork sandwich, and the beef brisket sandwich. The dipwich or dripwich (forget what it was called) is my favorite. Its not always on the menu but they will make it for you. Its just the beef brisket with au jus to dip it in. Also have great fresh cut fries. You know your in for a real treat when eating here, and just by looking at how clean the kitchen is and everything else you know these guys care about what they do. I havent tried their ribs yet, next time im there thats what im gettin!

My family and I ate here for the first time last night and weve all determined that this is our new favorite restaurant. The food is delicious, portion sizes are excellent, and the staff is extremely friendly. We had a very short wait for our food and at one point, the owner came over and cleared dishes from our table and asked how our meal was. (We werent aware that he was the owner until after the fact.), He made a great impression that hes not above doing some of the dirty work, and wants to know if people are having a good experience. The only problem is that everything sounds so delicious, I couldnt make up my mind!

One of the best BBQ places in south central PA. I have not been disappointed in anything Ive had here so far. Ive had the usual lineup of their brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and even their buffalo wings. Everything is excellent. I really like what they did with the place after restoring the building after a fire had them closed for awhile. The chairs are a little odd to sit in because the backs are really far back but you can find just the right position and get comfortable. Added bonus .. They have Birch Beer!!! :-D

This place is nothing like what you would imagine it to be when you think of Ribs for dinner with 3 other guests . When I think of eating ribs I imagine hardwood floors and building structure, however this place has a very professional feels to it, the type you dress up for in suit and tie kinda atmosphere. Nonetheless the food is very good. I got their signature brisket and ribs well done and was not disappointed. Portions are huge though. Chair are a bit awkward and lean back a bit to far.

Harveys catered my daughters wedding this past weekend and between the catering staff and the food, we couldnt have asked for anything better. The bbq, sides and appetizers were delicious - both the night of and the day after. The presentation was wonderful and the staff was professional, very pleasant and accommodating to all of our needs. I would highly recommend Harveys Catering if you are ever in need - for any occasion.

What a fantastic place! We had an amazing server who took time to talk with us and tell us about her passion for bacon. We had amazing meals of briquet, pulled pork, onion rings, and coleslaw. Everything was mouthwatering and tender. Ive also heard that the homemade salad dressings are very good. I also enjoy the entrance to the building, since you have to walk past the smokers which smell amazing.

Nice and clean enviroment. All fresh wooded tables. The chairs are sketchy. They make you feel like your going to fall backwards. Not a good thing after stuffing your face! You should be able to lean back comfortably to take the load off. The best thing on the menu is absolutley their ribs. They are just as advertised. I would say finger licking good. For all other food it was mediocore BBQ.
