Our visit was late on a Saturday - around 9:30p. I called to find out how late we could arrive and still be served dinner and I was told 10:00p so we had no problem with our arrival time and would still be served dinner. Upon arrival we were seated promptly but had to wait at least 10 minutes for our waiter, Samuel to great us. He asked if we wanted anything to to drink and when we said all we wanted was water he seemed very annoyed with that answer. Water took another ten minutes to arrive and then Samuel disappeared for another 10 minutes. Now it is close to 10:00p and when Samuel returned to take our dinner order, he had an even bigger attitude as if he didnt want to be here this late. My wife and daughter ordered the crepes, my daughters boyfriend ordered the duck and I had shrimp with basil cream sauce. The crepe was like a pancake you would make at home wrapped around a crab filled sauce, The duck was tough and the shrimp was average in taste with the basil cream sauce. My daughter did have the crab bisque which she claims was excellent. I dont know if the late hour had anything to do with the service and the food but for well over $100 for four with no drinks or desserts, I would recommend going somewhere else to spend your restaurant dollars. The restaurant still had a few patrons at this late hour so I dont know why the service was so slow. I would give the restaurant high marks on atmosphere and decor but low marks on the cleanliness of the restroom. In my opinion go somewhere else if you have the time to look for a restaurant in the area. If we are ever in the area we will not return.

I have eaten here before and the food is just OK, but the last time i was there the service was bordering on atrocious. As we entered the restaurant on our anniversary the host was very nice and seated us quickly, we were seated right next to the kitchen which was not an issue as we did not have a reservation and are very laid back people to begin with. After ten minutes our waitress asked us if we would like a drink we both ordered a glass of wine which came out promptly. Now to set the stage, when we were seated the couple next to us did not have their entrees yet, they received their entrees after we received our wine which they then consumed at a normal pace, paid the bill, left and still we were sitting there waiting to even order. So after sitting for 45 minutes I left some money on the table for the wine we barely touched and we exited. The WORST service i have ever encountered. And yes to follow with other reviewers i have been to multiple towns in France and have never experienced such horrible customer attention.

Service was slow. Not necessarily an issue for a nice (think European style) place, but as we were seated as a (walk in) party of six, we were given an hour to order, eat, and vacate before the reservation that followed us needed to be seated. To then get slow service us frustrating. They also charged us for too many drinks, then forgot to remove the extra drink from our tab between when we told them as we handed back the check and when they charged our card. When we pointed out the error, we were asked to just note the difference (cost of drink only, not tax or obligatory 18% tip) as a negative tip, of sorts. They promised to sort it out later. We took a picture of the final credit card charge, with negative tip, and will contest the total if it is not corrected. Not really what we were looking for in a nice dinner on a Saturday night. Food was good, which is why this review isnt getting only one star.

My wife and I had brunch there a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I was going to have one of their 4 different eggs Benedict creations but then noticed the apple and cheddar omelette. It sounded unusual so I tried it and was glad I did. As the waitress said it was kind of sweet and savory at the same time. My wife got the French onion soup which was delicious and a salad. These were from the lunch menu which they were kind enough to serve from even though we were there before they usually opened up the lunch menu. They also brought a bread basket with several types of bread and rolls, all of which were delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food and the ambience. We look forward to going back.

I bought a Groupon for this restaurant and went there last night with my husband. The server, Ben, was very helpful and impressively knowledgeable of the menu. We had red wine, which was very good. I ordered cassoulet while my husband ordered steak with fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, just as he ordered it, which was fabulous. The fries were yummy, too. My dish was also very, very good. We both agreed that this is a restaurant we would love to revisit. One thing that i need to mention, which we loved, the server left us alone during the duration of the dinner. We loved it that he did not bother us or urged us to vacate the table. Weve spent many years in Europe and we felt that this was a true European experience.

Still one of my favorite places in Annapolis. Food is consistently good. Extensive menu. Over the last 18 months or so there has been complete turnover of the wait staff. At one time, my friends were recognized as a somewhat difficult party (we come from as far away as NE Baltimore and Ocean City so we are not always all on time for our reservation), but treated like a bunch of favored elderly aunts. No more. But, we start our interaction with our waiter by explaining our expectations and then all goes relatively well. The table in the front window is chilly in the winter.

My wife and I went tonight for our 40th wedding anniversary. The meal was excellent! Service was excellent! Our waitress was Tenaisha. I had the special beef wellington and a spinach salad. My wife had the special scallops and risotto. We split a creme brulle. This was our second trip in a month to Cafe Normandie. Weve lived in Annapolis for almost 8 years and never tried until a month ago. Our first meal and service were excellent too! Ben was our waiter that night. Well keep coming back.

Solid and sometimes exceptional food. Portions are pretty good size and atmosphere is really lovely - cozy and rustic. Usually the service is very good but we were there for breakfast a few weeks ago and our waiter was a bit snooty and not apologetic when he made a mistake on our order. Ive been going here occasionally for many years though and typically have gotten very good service. If you like country french food you will like it here.

My wife and I had the chateaubriand and it was one of the best dishes Ive had in years. Perfect. Wine was a good value too. The owner was charming and hospitable; she got us a table after a short wait on a very busy night and we had no reservations. Service was good, especially considering that the place was packed. Overall, a wonderful meal. Well be back whenever we are in Annapolis.
