If youre just loooking to eat decent food while youre there this is one of the better places to eat on the island. The focus here is really on making different (bar) foods well, versus trying to sell you a lobster dinner with blueberry pie. When they first opened some time ago was definitely not impressed. Tried it again last year as it was very late in the season and they were one of the last places still open. Atmosphere was warm, friendly, inviting. Plenty of good local beers on tap, plus decent mixed drinks. Food was great, had the Jamaican Hangar Steak Taco which was delicious. Beet salad was good and a decent sized portion. Kind of liked that they make some duck, and their fries are made in duck fat. Came back to them this year, food continues to be good, had the Kobe Beef Brisket Panini this time and a beet salad. My girl enjoyed her food and drink too. Was here early in this season, staff appeared all new and needing to tighten up service as theyre going into the busy season- not knowing the menu, bringing my lady her mixed drink but not having my draft pour until minutes later (its on draft- just pull the handle!). Still, will come back here again.

Incredibly disappointing. My family and I are staying on the island and had been eager to try blaze as we brought our family pets along and are celiac. We went up to the hostess to find out how long the wait would be who rudely told us it would not be open for an hour or so (despite there being open tables) and told us there was no where we could wait near the resturaunts. In addition when I kindly asked if she knew of any close dog friendly resturaunts she replied they were the only dog friendly reaturuant which we later found to be comical as not only are there many dog friendly resturaunts in down town bar harbor but there is even one right next to blaze.. a shame. The treatment most definitely deterred us from wanting to wait to eat.

We got the pizza and the fish special. The fish special had some good flavors, particularly with the pickled slaw on top of it, but unfortunately the fish was undercooked in the center. When I showed the waitress they did offer bring me something else, I declined their offer and they did not charge me for the dish. The pizza on the other hand was awesome. I would go there again just for the pizza. The pizza we got had spanish chorizo, apples, bacon, siracha aeoli, and cheese. It seemed like an unusual combination of ingredients but it was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the pizza.

Great pizza,and service. Had to send back kids pizza because the bottom and crust were very burnt. It is a wood fired pizza place so I expect the pizzas to have some char on the bottom but what kid is going to eat a burnt anything. The server took it back and had another one out cooked perfect in minutes. The four stars is for the warm beer. They bring out big bottles of super cold ice water that we loved so why the warm beer? None the less would definitely recommend. Also they do take reservations which is key. The mushroom pizza is some of the best Ive ever had!

La bouffe est très bonne mais le service est vite expédié comme dans une brasserie parisienne (ce qui nest pas un compliment). Lorsquon demande le homard à la vapeur, le serveur fait du forcing pour quon prenne le homard au feu de bois même si on ne veut pas.

Wood fired lobster was amazing. They were also very cool with us splitting a two person dish three ways. We bought some sides and apps and a fourth member of our party bought a pizza. But it was a great meal, and we left full. Definitely going to try smoking lobster at home now thanks to Blaze, but I doubt well do it as well. Get the Fruit de Mer for two if you have two (or three). This meal is not to be missed when you are in Bar Harbor. Also, our server was very nice, very responsive and very helpful with our 9 month old.

The service we received here was so subpar. Our waiter was extremely unattentive. We waited about 20 minutes to just be acknowledged at our table and have our drinks and food order taken. The waiter was very apathetic to our presence and seemed to be in a rush to have us leave, not asking if we wanted to order anything else as we finished up our meal. The food was just your average American cuisine of burgers and pizza. Certainly nothing to go out of the way for.

Poor customer service. The food looked good from the street where we waited for 15 minutes to be seated. There were 2 tables open on the patio but we were finally seated in the dining room where it was at least 90°. I asked to be moved to the patio and was told that 2 people could not be seated at a four top. Empty tables and we walked out. The epitome of poor service. We went next door to Pascones and were treated like kings.

I go to Bar Harbor yearly over the summer and this restaurant just started when I went up last year. We went their, and it took us 15 MINUTES TO GET US DRINKS AND 45 MINUTES TO GET OUR FOOD!!! Our waiter was completely clueless, but the food turned out to be excellent, and I do like the smokiness of the ambience. But if youre in a rush and need to get lunch/dinner quick, this is not the place to go.

Really disappointed. Walked in with a group of four for lunch and beers and found four beers were either kicked, not pouring well or already gone. I picked another selection and indicated I wanted a sample and the stand in bartender went outside and came back with a full pint of something. We ended up walking out. Not the experience we anticipated.

Creative menu, great craft beers. We ordered the scallop tacos, a very generous portion of perfectly cooked and delicious fresh scallops. The duck burger with pork belly and a duck egg on brioche bun was very tasty, Smokey and cooked to your preference. Do not pass up the fries cooked in duck fat! Great staff, friendly to both humans and dogs.

We came here because my pregnant wife was craving for a pizza and the others dont open until 4.. either way the Neapolitan pizza was average.. Cheese was slightly on the higher side.. So did not melt very well.. The crust had a nice smoky touch though.. The duck fries were excellent.. it is a tourist town but still the food was overpriced..

Good food, service was a little slow (but the place was pretty busy). The roasted mushrooms were good. The Haddock tacos were good, too. My only complaint is that the place was super loud. We had a table inside and there were loud voices, music, and dishes clanging. It actually triggered a migraine. :-(

Meh!, In town for holiday, place was busy understandably. Ground pork burger with pork belly was dry and overcooked. Fries were old My hubbys fish tacos lack slaw flavor. It took almost 45 mins when people who ordered after us received their food first. Waiter was disinterested, overwhelmed or both.

EeeeYUM! Blue mojito was excellent (Im a lime purist, mind), duck salad with creamy chevre and candied pecans to die for. Hubbys venison burger with bleu and applwood smoked bacon fabulous. Duck fat frites just icing on the cake. Great find. Dont pass it by.
