While service and the view of the water was great, food was mediocre and overpriced for the lack of quality. This place probably does well in volume from the cruise ships that dock nearby which I suppose makes the bland food acceptable for business. Fish tacos were overly Americanized/meh with too much pre-shredded cheese and almost none of the mango salsa or lettuce they were supposed to come with. I love good cheese, but dont want the average stuff overpowering the plate to the point its the only thing I taste. Cilantro wasnt offered and the jalapenos were picked from a can rather than fresh in the salsa. I sincerely doubt the chef has ever had a good taco or fish taco to know better. The rice was also bland and somewhat mushy like it sat in a steam table pan with too much liquid for several hours. Clam chowder was OK, but nothing special, could not taste the difference between canned other than the clams were maybe a little better sized, but there was still more potato than clams. The other items ordered were also just OK, but nothing special. Having paid less for much better tasting food (including mainland seafood restaurants) and more for much better quality, this restaurant is just not a great value for the discerning palate.

At 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon we asked to sit on the deck for drinks and apps. We were told by the "rude" hostess that we could get drinks at the bar ourselves and sit outside, but if customers who wanted dinner came in and they needed the table we would have to move inside. We were on vacation and just let it slide. The bartender waiting on the 1 person at the bar said he would be with us in a few mins after he was done shucking some oysters which im sure would have taken a lot longer than to pour two beers. Not impressed we left. We walked the shore walk, ran into some locals and were directed to two much better venues who were more than happy to see us. After reading the other reviews now im glad we left. Too bad its so lousy, its a nice location. Maybe the NEW owners will know something about customer service because the two employees we encountered were HORRIBLE. Let me say again,,,,,,HORRIBLE. Keep away from this tourist trap! Like someone else posted, id rate it a zero if that was an option. 3pm you would think theyd welcome business.

Waited 15 minutes to be served. Waiters name: Moose The waiter was very helpful and informative on what the house specialties were. He was also very informative about the best value of the day 35 minutes from arrival to receive appetizer. Mussels were VERY fresh and VERY good. I would go so far as to say that these are the best mussels Ive ever had in my life (and Ive had a lot of mussels). Clam chowder was not as good as expected. It was unseasoned, and slightly bland. The lobster was a disappointment!!! Unfortunately it was served just below barely warm. While fresh it left me feeling very disappointed for the location as well as how easy it is to prepare. Ultimately, while this location has a great view and outstanding mussels, it left much to be desired for this out of town visitor. Go elsewhere. -mM

This place was terrible. It was what made me create a google account so I could warn people not to go here. I had the salmon. It was way overcooked and bland. no seasoning at all, not even salt and pepper, it was the worst piece of salmon Ive ever had. my wife had the lobster salad and it had a number of big pieces of shell mixed in with the meat that cut her mouth. The service was really awkward as well, we had a disheveled older gentlemen who seemed like he had never waited on a table before. The atmosphere was ok though. being right on the water and there were some fisherman fresh off their boats hanging out at the bar which made it kinda fun, but I would definitely never go back, theres a bunch of other, much better options available within a block or two.

took my mom in law here August 15, 2013, as it was the only place with close parking since she has a hard time walking. My phone wasnt getting good reception or i would have been able to see the reviews and avoided the place. A few of my mussels had a nasty taste causing me to spit them out...only 3 of the bunch. My MIL had the salmon with mango salsa and veggies...the salsa and veggies were nasty and caused her to get very sick later that evening. My daughter also had the veggies with her meal and got sick as well. The rest of us didnt eat the veggies. My corn cob was mushy so it didnt look appetizing.

Went to eat there Tues Sept. 17th wish I hadnt :-( - I ordered The Acadian. Both the clam chowder and the lobster roll were exceptionally bland. The lobster roll was small and nothing special for the price. - My wife ordered the Haddock, and had the same experience. - Should have left before we came as hostess stand was unmanned and though it was obvious we were waiting other staff simply ignored us, we were just about to walk away once someone seated us... :-/

We waited more than a full ten minutes to be seated. It was at least five minutes before both us and the party in front of us were even acknowledged. Two different employees walked by and completely ignored us. If that was the service before even being seated, how much worse would it be once at a table? Needless to say, we walked out. We did eat at this restaurant last year. The food was OK, overpriced, & again the service was terrible. We will not return.

My buffalo shrimp wrap was overpriced but the happy hour 1 1/4 lb lobster price is decent but our server seemed to think he had better things to do than wait on us. He was nice but didnt seem to want to be involved. He did not complain but did roll his eyes once. His name was Nate. If you get him I recommend a low tip and that you have a lot of patience for he is somewhat slow. Overall good food if you dont mind price.

Did not enjoy here at all. My wife ordered the Salmon sandwich and it was terrible, she would not eat it. It didnt even look like salmon and my stuffed fish was marginal at best. Great location with Harborside seating. Could be a gold mine with decent food. We heard others complaining also. They get 1 star for our server Charlie. He was a hustler and we were taken care of by him well.

We had dinner on the outside deck at sunset. The atmosphere was nice and the the food was okay. My wife enjoyed the seafood sampler which had grilled lobster, shrimp, snd scallops. I am not a fan of lobster but I thought the split and grilled lobster tail was better than just boiled. Take a jacket for spring and fall evenings if dining outside!

Visited in late April-early May and was very disappointed with the dish I had of a small plate of lobster meat with butter, corn and potatoes. I am not sure if it was lobster because it had no taste and it was like rubber. It was way over priced at $37.00 for about eight bits of lobster. Service was just OK. We will not go back there again.
