Normally I would rate this 5 stars, but after this past experience I do not. I have been here multiple times and usually enjoy my experience, but today was not the same. We walked in and were sat, waited 10 minutes before we got our drink order taken. Then had to flag our waitress down to get our order, where she told us to wait another minute. Then we ordered and waited another 30 minutes for our food, which was not as fresh tasting or as good as usual. During our time there, we were checked on once and did not receive one refill for anyone at my table. I had nothing to drink for almost my whole entire meal. To say the least, I am not pleased with this experience or the service I received. Will probably not be returning to this restaurant.

I visited Masa Japanese Bistro & Sushi for the first time today... and I LOVED it. It was a small restaurant, tucked away in a strip mall, so I didnt know what to expect. I was craving sushi and tried this place based on a recommendation from my coworker. The inside was clean, and cute. I ordered the Crunch Munch sushi roll and a house salad. The food was AMAZING. The sushi was so fresh and well executed. The ginger dressing on my house salad tastes and looks like it was made from scratch. I cant wait to go back and try more from the menu.

The highest quality sushi you can buy anywhere in Louisville and not at top dollar pricing. This restaurant is located in a discreet strip mall on the east end of Middle town / Louisville. Its almost hard to eat sushi anywhere else after you have been to Masa and seen what top quality and skill brings to this traditional form of food. John is very welcoming and runs the restaurant full time with his wife and mother. where is the 6 star button!?!?!?

This truly is some of the best and freshest sushi in Louisville. The salmon is just spectacular and you will never find a hand roll in any other Louisville sushi restaurant with such crispness in the seaweed sheets. The owner, John, was trained in Southern California and he runs a fantastic restaurant, and his mother, the hostess, is just a pleasure. The service is excellent and the food just overall is spectacular.

Great Japanese cuisine! Best ramen in town. The flavors are so dynamic. We always get Ono sashimi and one of the many well crafted rolls ( Lava, Roy, Seaside, Cajun Popper...). They also have some amazing sake choices like the plum or apple. The only complaint is the amount of time it takes to get everything. Plan for a 2 hour+ dining exexperience.

Nothing absolutely terrible service. IT was my wifes birthday had a party of 5 . took 30 minutes to get our food. Unfortunately they never brought her any food. We spoke to the owner told her that she never got her meal. She said do you want me to take it off the bill. (Really ).Are 1st trip to the restaurant and our last. # terrible

Some of the freshest and most desirable sushi I have ever tasted. Excellent sushi roll construction with the perfect blend of fresh rice, seafood, vegetables etc. Cleanest sushi I have had within the city limits. When you eat sushi like me though, the price escalates very quickly. Overall very pleased. Will be going back!

Best sushi in Louisville! The food here is always generous and fresh. This family owned business is warm and welcoming. The decor is understated and casual, so if you are looking for a highly themed experience you might look elsewhere. If youre looking for great sushi and a friendly experience youve found the right place!

Their website and front door says Monday-Friday from 11:30am-2:30pm. I went there today on a Thursday at 1:21pm and they were closed. I drove across town to meet someone there for lunch, and they werent open when they advertised they would be. No signage or notes or anything explaining why.

Masa is a hidden gem for Sushi and Hibachi in Louisville, I kid you not the Hibachi is not cooked at your table but there is no better in town. The sushi chefs are true artisans, I have tried every sushi place in the city and this is hands down the best.

I received my food long after my husband received his, plus the food was overpriced and not good at all. If you come here, order the sushi because everything except for the sushi we ordered was no better than a local neighborhood fried rice joint.

Our favorite Louisville sushi restaurant! Weve tried many types of rolls & sashimi - loved them all - ALWAYS fresh ingredients. The sushi combos are delicious and easy on the budget cause you know, sometimes you just gotta have some sushi!

Some of the best tasting Japanese food in town. I always try to bring more of my friends every time to experience the food. Favorite dishes are the green mussels, unadon (eel rice bowl) and the tempura Oreos

Some of the best sushi I have had. The fried calamari isnt cleaned well though, they leave tough tendons in place before breading. Makes for a very chewy experience.
