One of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. The food itself is very good, though Ive found a couple dishes to be overly strong. The staff is very professional and accommodating, and the show chef for the grill is appealingly casual. The sushi is a bit overpriced though very high quality, but the hibachi is exceptionally affordable; it almost feels like having two levels of dining experience in a single restaurant. The atmosphere is probably the easiest to recommend aspect, being consistently good. If I were to recommend a single action, it would be lunch at the hibachi grill: large portions of high quality for a very low price.

After several months of not visiting Fuji Japanese Restaurant we decided to stop by and have an early dinner. We were greeted and taken to a seat at the hot table by the hostess. Moments later our server came to the table and asked if we were ready to oder. We ordered and another two couples who had been seated ordered also. The chef came and began preparing the meals as we ate soup and salad. I will say I was a little disappointed in the portion of each serving which seemed small for the price paid. There were very few people in the restaurant at the time but it used to be crowded. I will dine here occasionally but not when Im hungry.

If you dont eat sushi like me there isnt much else on the menu. Only one page of choices without bait (sushi). Had the grilled shrimp with fried rice and grilled veggies. While it was very tasty only 6 shrimp for $15 was disappointing. We arrived at 1PM and the place was over 3/4 full. But food arrived in under 15 minutes. The people in my party who eat bait said it was delicious. Ill take their word for it. Service was extremely fast and friendly. But overall not my kind of place.

I travel from Nashville to Cookville as often as I can to take picture of the waterfalls located nearby. I always end up at Fuji. There spicy tuna rolls are the best I have ever had (at least so far) and the the Jalapeno and Yellow Tail sashimi is wonderful. I have found no substitution with Escolar (commonly known as the ex-lax fish and you know why) for tuna. I have yet to try the hibachi grill yet but I am certain it will be great. The server are always prompt and respectful.

Hours listed are wrong. Dont bother to show up here within an hour of them closing. Showed up 40 minutes before closing time and got turned away unless I wanted to do a to go order since they were closing soon. Food here is normally really good, but to be turned away at the door because they dont want to have to stay past closing time was very offensive. This was a very frustrating experience as I had driven quite a way to get here.

Ive had sushi here before and it was delicious and fabulously affordable during the week and during the day, you can get 2 decent sized rolls for $5 ($6 on weekends). That being said, maybe they shouldnt cut such good deals because 20% of $5 doesnt make for decent enough tips for the staff to treat you like a paying customer. The wait staff is extremely rude. Someone forgot to teach them southern hospitality in training.

Just ate at Fuji and it is definitely the greatest experience Ive had a restaurant in a long time. Great sushi, great price, great atmosphere. Definitely would recommend going to this place to get your sushi fix. My girlfriend and I both had 2 sushi rolls each for $10. This is a steal for the quality of the service provided.

The food is good but the portions are small compared to the other habachi grills I have been to and the portions seem to be getting smaller in the time I have been going there. Atmosphere is good. Place is clean. Service is good. A good show depends on what chef you get at the grill.

WOW! We arrived at 11:30, were immediately seated at a hibachi table, had the lunch special. Food tasted great, quality was excellent, sauces were good service was good and the price was NICE. I cant say enough good things about the place.

Ive come here quite often in my time in Cookeville. The main attraction here is good, honest people and consistent, delicious sushi. If you catch them during their lunch special, you can get two whole sushi rolls for $5! What a steal!

Had great sushi and customer service. Had the iron chef roll and the awesome eagle roll. Both very good sushi rolls. My only complaint is the the AC wasnt working very good and was slightly hot.
