Im not sure that one of the recent reviewers is reviewing the right restaurant- House of Hunan does not have online ordering. They have always taken phone orders or walk in takeout orders in addition to their dine in option. My family has enjoyed House of Hunan for as long as I can remember. We lived very close to the restaurant at one point, and we began ordering takeout or dining in at least once a week. We have since moved- and I moved out and married- and my parents and I still dine in or order takeout at least once a week. Sundays are usually my mothers Hunan days. The owner is always there and she knows our family by name- always asks (and seems interested in) how we are and what is new. The food is always delicious and fresh. The menu has many choices. I (and my family) will continue to dine here regularly, and hope that others will also give Hunan a try!

We really like this place. There are several locations and we have been to two of them. We almost always order fresh when we go, because they dont seem to run buffet every opening hour like so many other places. This is good and bad actually. We just have to wait a little longer for our food, but its always fresh and delicious. We have ordered take out and dined in and our service has always been good. Thier spring rolls are delicious. I usually get sweet and sour chicken, low mein, and crab rangoon. Its always good when I have been. Happy Dining everyone!

This was absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered over $70 of food for delivery. The food was obviusly left overs that they microwaved. It was horrendus, the empress chicken was covered with uncooked batter and a water sauce, and the scallops were very rubbery. It was obviusuly imitation seafood. The crabrangoon was sour and bitter? I would give them 0 stars if it was an option.

We ordered online and waited 2 hours for our food. After an hour and half, we called the restaurant 4 times with no answer. Eventually, the food was delivered and it was all very bad. We spent about $50 on this meal and the only part we could eat was the rice. I was really bummed overall and woidlnt recommend this to anyone.

I ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken wings for lunch. Everything was great! Hot, fresh and fast! I was told that they would be at my job in an hour and they showed up in 20 min!! Now that is Jimmy Johns fast!! They earned a tip from me as well. Keep it up guys!!!

Called to place a delivery request and because they had a new driver they refused our order. Saying "Maybe we try next time when we have another driver." Sorry no, no next time, you fail, no business for you.

Just got home with takeout to find the inside of my Orange Beef completely raw. This is by far the worst Chineese Place in Des Moines. The Crab Ragoon sucked. The only edible thing were the spring rolls.

Food is a bit on the pricey side for a casual restaurant, but is very delicious. Shrimp toast is the best weve had at any restaurant, wonton soup is also good.
