My boyfriend made reservations at Cosi Cucina for 7:30 for the two of us and two of our friends. We were there at 7:30 and only one other couple was waiting when we arrived. They were seated and then shortly after quite a few people came in and they waited with us. Soon everyone else was getting seated except for us. I went up to the man at the counter and asked him when we would be seated and told him that several people that walked in after us had been seated and we had reservations for 7:30. He said, "well they probably had reservations too and theyve been here for quite a while." I pointed out that I watched everyone that was seated walk in AFTER us and he doubted me. I told him that the group of four they JUST seated walked in about ten minutes prior to being seated, so he looked at the book and their reservation was AFTER ours and they got seated first. He got all flustered and said we would be seated immediately (around 8:00 pm). They gave us two free appetizers for the inconvenience. When they were delivered I took out my silverware and ALL of my silverware was dirty. Instead of complaining again I just used some of my boyfriends silverware. Then a girl came around to refill our water glasses and she ran out of water by the time she got to my glass, so she filled it with ice and didnt even come back to put water in my glass! I was only drinking water!! We ordered our dinner and I made sure to order an item that was marked as being a vegetarian meal (mushroom pasta). I do this to ensure that no meat will sneak into my food because they forgot to leave it out per special request. Our food was delivered and I took a few bites and then noticed that there was PORK in my food. No one at our table even ordered pork AND its a vegetarian meal on their menu!! Our waitress came over to our table and asked how things were and I ran down the list of issues that we had run into so far and then I told her it was my birthday. Everyone else had started eating, which was obvious since she was standing at our table. She offered to have them make me a new dish, but seeing as how it was my BIRTHDAY we had other plans afterwards. She said she would bring me a brownie free of charge and remove my meal from our ticket and have them make me my meal again to take with me. (gee thanks Ill eat dinner at the party I guess??) The brownie they brought was really tasty, but I was actually looking forward to eating my meal. She asked how our tickets should be split up and we told her exactly how and she messed up the tickets!! We only went there for MY BIRTHDAY and Im the one that didnt get to eat!!!! I am completely floored by the horrible service I received from this restaurant. Even after we were seated after everyone else that walked in after us we were still wanting to go there for Valentines Day because of how great the appetizers were. I cant imagine wanting to ever go back there again. I will be writing a letter to the manager about the horrible experience. I told my friends about this when we got to my birthday party and a few of them have worked in restaurants before and they couldnt believe that our table wasnt comped. I do NOT recommend Cosi Cucina for a special occasion because you will probably get disappointed. Thankfully I have amazing friends that made up for the horrible dinner experience.

First of all my family and I understand the restaurant business very well, we all know how sometimes things tend to get overwhelming for a server or for the rest of the staff, we are very patient and polite, but I must say that going to this place was the worst idea ever! Not only was the service horrible but the food was very disappointing. We came in on a Sunday and we did not have reservations we understood that we were going to have to wait "20-30" minutes but we ended up waiting over an hour (at this moment we were fine with the wait, we understood). When we got seated we had to wait 10-15 minutes before anyone greeted us. Then our server "Jessie" took another 15 minutes to ask us if we wanted anything else to drink besides water, and took another 10 minutes to bring or drinks back. At this time we were already very disappointed with the service and were thinking about leaving but my mother insisted that we stay and give the girl another chance. The server kept on tending to her other tables and ignored us. She finally brought us some old cold bread at this point we told her we were ready to order and she said she would be right back (another 10minutes) she kept on tending to her other tables and totally ignored the fact that we were ready and that we were seriously just staring at her. When she finally came to take our order she decided to bring my nieces juice and my mothers wine which we had order a long time ago, and she shared the day specials after we had already order. She took our order and we never saw her again for another good 30 minutes our waters were low, the kids were hungry and our patience was running low. I could see our food sitting in the window and the other servers pushing it to the side to get their food to their tables. Meanwhile "Jessie" was having a long conversation with one of her booths in the back. Finally a food runner started to bring our food out and she decided to join him. Funny thing is that they warned us about our plates being "hot" and they were cold as ice. She gave us our food and didnt see her until we were done. As if the service wasnt bad enough, the food was horrible. The pizza was very bland and burnt. The mushroom pasta was as well very bland I had order my chicken to be grilled and it seemed like it had been boiled. The balsamic chicken was also bland and over cooked. We paid and we immediately left (none of us even ate half of our food) We were so upset and disappointed that we just left without making a big deal out of it and speaking to a manager as we should have had. But what really put the cherry on top of this horrible experience was the fact that this morning when I was checking my bank statement I noticed that our wonderful server Jessie gave her-self a tip of another amount than the one we had left her…. I hope she knows this is morally wrong and illegal!! Taking money from someone else without their permission is the same thing as stealing. If she would have had put some effort and at least apologized ONCE for her not tending to us or for her taking so long to do things we would have had considered leaving her 20% as we usually do in all of the other places we go to. I will be calling this place to make complaint and let them know of what kind of people they have working for them.

My mom is in town from Florida, and when she lived here she would get Cosi Cucina on her way home from work at least once a week. I would always steal her bread. When we were talking about where to go for dinner, she really wanted Cosi.... Im not a huge fan of italian food. Im a really picky eater... I dont like vegetables or too much red sauce. I begrudgingly said yes. On our way there, I looked through the menu and found two things Id be willing to try. When we got there, we were greeted and seated by the owner. The bread was soft and warm and just a little crusty on the bottom, perfection. My mom ordered her favorite, a chicken calzone. We actually got to see it baking in the wood fire oven. I ordered the Potato Ravioli. I have never tasted something so delicious in my life. My mom got her calzone, and the cheese wasnt melted, so they re-fired it. She got through most if it, but noticed the knot on one end of the calzone was still dough. She asked for a manager and the owner came over and introduced himself. He was super friendly, and way more accommodating than we could have hoped. Everybody at our table, except for the 1-year old, has worked in food service. We werent looking for anything special by calling the manager. We were just looking to let him know about it. He had the cook make her another calzone, gave us our dessert for free, and put the employee discount on our check. He had to work really hard to convince my mom to let him make another calzone. As many times as she reassured him that he didnt need to, he insisted and said that he wants to make sure that every single person who walks into his restaurant, leaves happy. We left very pleased. I will certainly be stopping by when Im on that side of town so that I can grab some to-go potato ravioli.
