What a disappointment. My wife and I planned on a nice meal before a concert in Ames.Arrived at just prior to six (concert at 8). Told our wait would be 20 to 25 minutes, which it was just about right on. We were seated, met our two waitresses and told that one was training. Since time was of the essence, we had already figured out our entire order from the appetizer through entrees and drinks. Got our drinks, and waited. Appetizer plate arrived finally and was good. Then we waited. Finally, asked if wed like some biscuits. Sure. We waited. Finally they arrived, luke warm. Still waiting on our salads. Waitress even made comment about salads should be there with biscuits, but that was it. Finally the salads arrive. I had asked for Italian dressing. Not sure what I had, but it wasnt that. Time was ticking,so I just went with it. Keep in mind we were seated at about 6:25 and our salad had finally arrived about 7:05. About 7:14 the waitress comes to apologize that she forgot to key in our main meal orders, so they werent even being cooked. What? She apologized and said the manager was going to "make it right" for us. We shared we had a concert at 8 and between traffic and getting to seats we were in trouble. She assured us the manager himself was now cooking our meal and it should be done in five minutes. We told them you might as well bring boxes with the meals. The meals did arrive in about five, brought out by the manager who apologized again and repeated that "hell make this right for us". Needless to say, we were starving. Did we enjoy our meal? No, as we practically inhaled our walleye and lobster linguini. I think we both ate in five minutes. The bill wallet had been left on our table, and we opened it to find that making it right for us didnt involve money off or an adjustment of our bill. Full charge. Spent an hour and a half between arrival,wait, and finishing meal which was out of order and with mistakes. We didnt even see the managers face again. Only to bring out our meals. Bottom line: very poor customer service and follow up to make it right. Yes, we arrived late for the show by several minutes after speeding to the show. We just threw in money in the bill to cover the cost and didnt ask for change, although this left a tip for poor service. We didnt have the time to wait. Meals arent cheap at Lobster, and this was few and far between date night for my wife and I. Poor follow up, poor service, poor experience.

We always eat there when we come to Ames on our date weekend..we stopped on Sat May 6 2017... we never mind a wait for our dinner because we have never been disappointed in our visits..this time it was not as enjoyable.. my wife ordered the steak and shrimp and asked that they do not put seasoning or peppercorn on it due to gastrointestinal problems..her steak came and it had peppercorn on it so she wiped it off because we sat for some time already...she ate 3 bites and couldnt finish because she began to hurt..although she had her medicine with she still was uncomfortable so our plans were cancelled and we spent the rest of the night in our hotel room .. (Btw my lobster was supreme ).. We will definitely come again as it has been a tradition of the past 6 years at least every couple months I just hope it isnt a painful experience again because we may have to stop

Its the first time I eat in Red Lobster in Ames. Unfortunately, the side which are broccoli has one part thats totally rotten, there was clearly large area of mold on it. I could have taken a picture, but I was lazy at the moment, so I just throw it away. But I feel I have the responsibility to let other customers know the truth. Im disappointed because its so pricy, and this flaw mades me lose my trust and doubt about their overall quality of food. I guess I wont go there next time.

This Red Lobster was very unorganized, they untidily put our food in the take away bag and were unprofessional. We ordered three salads and only received two and ordered three desserts and were surprised to find they had given us none. Also the food wasnt as great as last time we ordered from there.

Its a chain, so you know what youre going to get here. Overall the food is good and very consistent. The staff is usually pretty quick and helpful, and as long as you dont have expectations of being blown away, you should be satisfied here.
