Noticed the generic Mexican decor on the way in. Nothing bad about it, Ive just seen it used too often. There was a empty fountain in the middle of the dining room. As a family of 5 we were seated at a table with 6 chairs but the table was only big enough to seat 4 people comfortably at max. Needless to say once the 2 plate meals hit the tables there was a lack of personal space. Even before the meal we were shoulder to shoulder. The waiter was the best part of the restaurant. He was polite, timely, offered to have the cook fix a overcooked steak, and I even noticed him cleaning the walls on his down time. I also noticed another employee mopping floors with very heavily scented mop water, which didnt smell bad, but did make my stomach turn while eating. My food came out looking good and sizzleing but that was the only satisfying part. Beneath the melted coating of cheese I was basically left with charcoal. Among the ingredients on my plate, I noticed at the bottom, chunks of what looked and tasted like canned cat food. I could only assume it was the "Oscar Meyer" weiners I ask to be excluded. I definitely left unsatisfied, but not before politely giving a message to the waiter when handing him a tip. I suggested him to tell his cooks to turn down the heat and I wasnt talking about the spices. No second chances here.

We first went to another restaurant in Madison, and were not served. We waited quite a long time while other diners who came in after us got their drinks, tgen dinners. Finally we left. We drove around Madison and found Tapotio...so glad we did. Beautiful decor, friendly prompt service and most of all delicious food with generous portions.

Lunch was very tasty but the salsa bowl for your salsa and chips appetizer was tiny and I had to ask to have it filled 3 different times. I even ask for a larger bowl so they wouldnt have to make so many trips, but I guess my request was not understood.

Very very slow would not fill sausa will never come back again...at least come and say we r sorry we r so slow tonight. Can we get anything for you while you wait. BUT NO !!!!!! They didnt... I hope the good is good

Went twice, 6 months apart, all about second chances here, but service was slow both times, tables were dirty. I dont recommend. Least favorite Mexican restaurant, but everyone has different experiences.
