I love the decor and sushi here. I dont usually visit the tables where they cook your food in front of you (those are good, too). My favorite sushi rolls are the torch roll, angry ex wife, and the red bull roll. The first two are set on fire and you can watch the flames at your table until they die out, the third one has strips of beef steak on top cooked to order (well, medium, rare) with the usual sort of ingredients inside. Check the menu to see what exactly is in them, I just wanted to point out the unique parts that I think make them special. They have a lot of other options, too.

I was pretty disappointed in the enthusiasm of our chef at the hibachi grill. He really seemed disinterested and did not make it very engaging, just going through the motions. Food was on par with other basic hibachi grills I have been to. It was pretty messy in the restaurant, the floors were covered in food bits and small pieces of trash. The atmosphere wasnt anything to brag about either. I will most likely not be visiting this hibachi again. One positive, they did keep bottles of the ever popular yum yum sauce on the table.

I went with my husband and two children. I was scared at first since my son is only 3 and my daughter is 9 months old I thought I would feel out of place. I was surprized to see I wasnt there was 4 other families there with their young children. The habachi cook was so good with my son and made a volcano with a onion so cool! If you want habachi food worth the money you spend go to kansai not sho gun. Sho gun was the worst experience ever! Our cooks name at Kansai was Jake I would ask for him.

The only reason I gave this place two Stars is because the food was good. The meal comes with soup, salad, veggies, and rice as required sides. You can order double of one to substitute for another but you cant just have one of the sides. I only wanted the rice. The salad comes with the house dressing and that is the only dressing they have. It kinda tastes like mustard. The rice is a good size portion.the meat and fish are small size portions

Restraunt is always very attentive to ur needs. Never will have to ask for a refill of ur drink. However, we were very disappointed with the sushi we ordered. You could tell there was no time or care put into making it. The rolls fell apart everytime a piece was picked up. We had not been there in quite some time and I really have no desire to go back now. Also the sushi was priced on the higher end and we received less quality.

Food portions are large but prices are on the steep side. The cook was very nice and did a great job preparing the food. My only complaint was that we felt rushed out before finishing our meals. They had our tickets to us with to-go boxes and we were all still eating. This was late on a Sunday and the place was not busy so no need to push customers out the door. Overall, I was satisfied.

This is my favorite sushi place ever! The portions are big and everything has wonderful flavor. What really makes this place great though, is the friendly staff and attentive servers. They always make sure you are well taken care of and have a great time. I highly recommend Kansai for everything from family reunions, to parties, to date night.

Honestly the worst Sushi Ive had, not just in Louisville, but globally. Took friends there and between us sampled 6 different rolls. All were very bland and mushy. Sushi from Kroger beats their rolls by a long shot. To top it off, the waitress didnt know anything about sushi and said she doesnt eat it. Maybe not the best place to work?

Well I actually havent went yet. I am taking my son for the first time Saturday night and I need suggestions on some dishes. We do not eat sushi!! But I want to sit and watch the cook prepare our food. I think it would be an incredible experience for us both since it will be our first time at your restaurant.

Excellent food and service. I eat here at least 3 times a month and I never regret it. Always looking forward to going back. Everything is delicious but my favorite is the filet mignon, definitely recommend it cooked medium rare. Slightly more expensive than average around here but very much worth it.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Kansai has the best sushi Ive tried so far. The ginger salad is amazing, all the food tastes really fresh. Sitting at the hibachi is a whole new experience! The chefs are very skilled and entertaining. It is a little pricey, but I come back every chance I get!

Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat. A group of us went today and the food was all prepared deliciously. Everyone was wearing smiles. Our chef was highly entertaining not to mention how good everything was prepared. Would highly recommend Kansai to everyone including those with kids.

Probably the best Japanese food in Southeast Indiana. Kobes is a close second. Star Sushi 3rd, Dragons kings daughter and Tomos exist. The Chefs are perfectionist and nail it. The King Kani roll is my favorite. The Derby Roll is a popular one. Its pricey, but great for special occasions.

After reading through all the reviews my husband and I decided to swing buy for some sushi on our way through Clarksville,IN. We called in the order and picked it up 20 minutes later. All things considered we found the sushi to be fresh and above average. We will be returning again!

We love eating here. Whether its at the grill or just sitting at a side table ordering sushi and fried rice. I definately recommend the Moon roll to people whom are trying sushi for the first time. I love the Red Dragon roll (spicy). Good food and service!

Honestly my favorite restaurant, Ive never left hungry and its a tad on the more expensive side, but its worth what you pay. Food quality is amazing and dollar per amount of food its definitely better than a more expensive restaurant like Ruths Chris

For the multiple times Ive been here, waitresses have been uneducated about menu items, dont know how to properly talk to customers when mistakes are made, and this time the tea tasted like dirty water (wasnt steeped long enough).

I love this place. The food is always great, the sushi is fresh and well presented. The prices are very reasonable and it is my daughters favorite place for special meals like birthday and celebrations. Highly recommended!

Good quantity of food for the price. Much better than Kobe or Tomo. Younger staff is polite. Manager is fantastic. He takes time to make rounds on the non-hibachi side. I think we go there way to much, but wife loves it.

The food is always good, especially when my wife and I sit at the grill. Part of the fun is picking out the rolls/sushi each time we eat there, which are delicious. For the price, you can get alot from start to finish.
