I have just had the WORST experience there today 6/9/2015. I have worked in a couple of restaurants before - so normally even if I do have a bad experience I do not write about it. My friend ordered sushi and when it came out it was not at all what she thought it was (every restaurant has their own take on items) She told the server that she did not like it and wished to order something else instead. He stood there and told her she would have to pay for what she did not like plus whatever else she decided to order - WHAT????? I have never know a restaurant to make you pay for something you could not eat. I do understand that this of course is an inconvenience for the restaurant and it goes against their food cost. However, this is the business you are in. You want happy customers so they continue to come back. It was not like she wanted nothing - she was going to order something else. Would any other restaurant even have the audacity to say you were going to have to pay for the food you could not eat? If the over cooked my steak or the steak tasted bad would they have made me pay for another one? After the server was rude and did not offer to get the manager I had to request his presence. After waiting for about 5 minutes (during a late lunch where there were only two other tables in the restaurant) the manager finally came out. He then tried to make us pay for the sushi after she said she was going to order something else. After about 8 minutes of banter between us both he finally said that he would take it off her bill. I do not understand how a restaurant could be so rude. I have just never been so irritated in a restaurant. Our server never came back to our table - the manager came back once and barely acknowledge us to see if everything else was okay and I had to waive my server down just in order to get our checks. YOU ARE IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS - THERE ARE GOING TO BE TIMES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO RE-COOK OR CUSTOMERS ARE GOING TO NOT LIKE SOMETHING. AT LEAST WE STILL ORDERED SOMETHING AND DID NOT GET UP AND LEAVE RIGHT AFTER THAT. I will not be returning to a place that treats their guest with such disrespect. I do know that this is not a major franchise but I do hope this gets their attention and something is done about their rude and incompetent management.

As if eating out with a 3 year old isnt hard enough. Tonight my wife, 3 year old daughter and I decided to eat at Kansai. After waiting about 10 to 15 minutes for our drinks, our waiter finally came to take our order. After he gets my wife and daughters order he starts to walk away. Im like hey bro, Id like to eat too.he says O ok. We order an Alaskan roll, and our meals. About an hour later he grabs our roll from the sushi bar and then takes it back. Then about 10 minutes later he brings our food. Then goes and gets the Alaskan roll thats now been sitting for about 10 minutes brings it over and then back to the sushi bar. At this ppint Im about to explode. They bring yum yum sauce I pour some on both plates and then tell my wife lets go. So absolutely disgusted with this place. I hated walking out but thats what they deserved tonight. Horrible service.

Had dinner on mother’s day, @ 430 with a party of 4. Two stars. Detractors: *The hostess sat us in the wrong section, and had to re-sit our party. *The counter area we were sat was very dirty. A visible film was present. *Common or traditional place settings where not available. No chop sticks. Had to ask. No soy sauce bowls, had to ask. *The “soup” was really just salt water. *The salad was soggy iceberg lettuce drowned in bland and water downed dressing. *The waitress kept reaching over the hot grill to serve the patrons. *The hibachi chef was not very energetic, was just ‘doing’ the act. *As it was mother’s day, and I was the only male in the part, I was expecting the bill to go to me, however, the check was given to matriarch of the group. Positives: *Large portions. *Waitress was friendly and keep the drinks full.

The WORST dining experience ever. Had to remake my husbands sushi rolls twice and didnt get it right either time. Took an hour to get three sushi rolls and a side of rice and then another 32 minutes to get the second wrong sushi roll and our 1st refill of the night. Thank goodness for the hostesses who brought us the refill and and silverware our waiter never brought. I finished my meal before my husband ever even got his. We voiced our concern to the manager Mai and her response was that she saw him come to my table to bring some sauce.... Yes that is because he couldnt manage to make sure that sauce was on a sushi roll the first two times! No offer of anything to save me as a customer until her hostess offered to give me her discount then she scolded her and said you can have 10 percent I guess.

Didnt make us sick. That is the only positive review that I can make for this restaurant. We came here at 2:30 on a Saturday for a late lunch, the dining room was only about a third full, most of which was there for the hibachi. We ordered the gyoza, and two specialty rolls. The gyoza was clearly pre frozen, then deep fried, and tasteless. Ive had better dumplings from a microwave. Our two sushi rolls came about five minutes later. At $11 and $14 each, I had pretty high expectations. I was very quickly disappointed, one roll was very warm and neither had much flavor. These were supposed to be their premium rolls, yet I have had better day old, gas station sushi. I would not recommend this place to anyone; this will be the first, and last time I eat here.

Our waiter was pretty awful. I understand he couldve been swamped by the 11 person table splitting their check into 5 different checks, but other tables still need to be served as well. Even if by a different server. We arrived around 6:30 and ordered before 7:00. Our food was not out 45 min later and when we finally received our food, it was wrong and cold. Manager gave us a discount but did not fix the incorrect orders. Vegetables were soggy, rice was subpar, and literally everything about my order was incorrect. Usually, this restaraunt had been very good. Im not sure whats going on kansai.. but you need to fix it. The California rolls have changed and dont taste as fresh anymore. Dont think we will be back here before we pcs.

This was by far the worst Japanese steakhouse Ive ever been to! Wouldnt recommend this to my worse enemy . I even told the manager about it and he said Im sorry we are really busy . Yet half the store was empty . The server came got our order drop our drinks, then brought the food (it wasnt very bad) then didnt see him again until I asked some one to find him so we could get our check . There were two female servers that were very nice and told us they were sorry about such a terrible experience. If I could give them a half star I would n they would only get that Bc the two female servers that were so nice ! Moral of the story 2 meals for $40 and TERRIBLE service isnt worth it !
