The food is definitely worth it! Big plate of food, neat chef tricks, and I had friendly co-customers. The place is iffy when it comes to the atmosphere, because the first time i went in there it looked like a opium den, but the last time I was there, I was there at lunch, and the lady turned up the lights and it was perfect. The restaurant is "old" and could use some renovations, but thats just atmosphere... Kinda how the Old T.G.I. Fridays used to look... Definitely needed a renovation but was still good. The price is a little hefty for me (I dont have much money) so going there for 2 is going to cost you $60 easily (2 dinners and a pop for each). The Lunch is 1/2 the price and you get 80% of the same items you do for lunch as you do dinner. Overall, the place is excellent, and there isnt really anywhere else in South Bend that has a show to go with the food, and you know exactly where the food came from. Its very entertaining and I would recommend it for a anniversary, romantic birthday, or just a change of restaurant pace. Woo. wayyy too much writing. lol

Absolutely loved the food here, particularly the egg yolk sauce mixture to eat with the rice. The cooks put on an entertaining show, especially for first-timers, but theres been a time or two that Id rather just skip the show and get to the food. The setting is a little antiquated, and the drink service can be a little slow at times. The prices for alcoholic beverages are way out of line for their quality; your bill will quickly add up after just a few. I recommend skipping the over-priced (and usually mediocre) drinks and enjoying the feast of food. Overall a nice dining experience.

I have been going here since they opened. They have great food and a show to boot. Yes the shows are repeated only because there is only so much you can do. It is up to the chef as to what they do. If you comment to them about seeing the same thing all the time they will try to give you a little something different. The egg yolk sauce is the best. The food is great. If you leave hungry it is your own fault because they give you enough to feed an army. Love the atmosphere, the service and the price is not that bad, especially at lunch time. Great place, try it.

For all you people complaining about portion size, you are crazy. You almost need a bucket instead of a plate for all that food. For Mr whiny "they wouldnt serve me at 8:55" guy, you are extremely rude to think those people owe it to you to stay open after their stated 9:00 pm closing time so that your pompous arrogant self can make them all hours late to get home to their families. Your parents obviously did not teach you courtesy or common sense, and you should be ashamed of your dismal review. Great food, great atmosphere, I would eat here everyday if I could.

Best place ever to eat. Its a meal and a show. I read other peoples reviews and a cook told one guy he was too fat and he couldnt have any egg yoke sauce. Thats another example of how funny the cooks are. He asks you how you want your steak done and then says "Im just being nice, Im going to cook it my way" (Of course he doesnt) I took my daughters entire 2nd grade class here. they all loved it. I still try to go weekly.

A local Favorite! Its a place I have been going to for nearly twenty years. I like to go for lunch bc the prices are better (alot better!!). Menu is small, but covers all the bases (chicken, steak, seafood). Food is cooked right in front of you - teppan style. Each meal includes vegatables and rice. The egg yolk sauce is AMAZING. Try this place. You will be glad you did.

My favorite place to go for a birthday dinner. The food here is terrific and comes with a show at the table by the chef! The staff is friendly and well trained. The dining room and bathrooms are always immaculately clean. I dont eat sushi but my dinner guests have always said its very good. The egg yolk sauce is the best I have ever eaten.

I enjoyed the service and how they cook the food in front of you. If you have problems breathing dont go because the air vents seem not to be working real good so it was very smoky and kinda burned my eyes the whole time there. Drinks are not free refills. The portion of food is amazing well worth the money spent. Had a blast.

The most amazing tasting food with a show that you can get. Everything Ive tried here is superb and their own unique Egg Yolk Sauce just adds grandness to anything you have. They put on a super show while preparing your meal right there in front of you and they even play around a little to make it even more exciting.

This place is a ton of fun and the food is great. It is a bit on the expensive side but the amount of food and the experience justifies the price. Its also a good place to bring the kids. The only knock is that you will walk out smelling like your food. I recommend without hesitation.

The food was good when I was able to go. The last two times I attempted to go I could not get in. The first time the sign said the were closed. The second time a sign stated you must call ahead for reservations. They appear as if they may be going out of business.

A great restaurant, and a great time. Food was incredible, and the chef was impressive. The menu had a decent number of choices without being overwhelming. It was an experience dining, and should be shared with a few friends. It will only enhance the meal.

I enjoy this Japanese Steak House every time I am in this area. The cook made the entertainment fresh and funny, and this is one of the few places that serves yolk sauce! (Oh so yummy!) I have been to many JSHs but this is by far my favorite anywhere!!

Chef cooks meal right in front of you. Absolutely delicious Japanese style cuisine. Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for a super delicious meal, although the pricing may be a bit expensive (20-30 dollar range). If you ask me its worth it!
