When we walked in there was only one way door for the whole place. We asked to be seated outside and he told us that he couldnt serve us food out there because he was alone. While he was very friendly the food was subpar. I had a steak burrito that was more gristle than steak. My friend had the tacos and she seemed very pleased with them. The chips and salsa or excellent. They have something that almost looks like a creamy salsa that was very very good. The location is a little off the beaten path but its very accessible. The place is cute. I understand they have live music on the weekends. But we went on a Thursday and it was quiet and quaint. Tylenol giving this a three out of five might be generous for during the week, but I think Id really need to experience it on the weekends to know why this place is locally beloved.

I have been there many many many times under different occassions (work lunch, family dinners, chamber events) and I have never been let down...ever! The food is always hot & fresh, the margaritas are always very tasty and the service has been second to none. I saw the negative reviews listed below and I have a hard time understanding what they experienced. Many of our business collegues, family & friends frequent Casa Santiago and they all love it. If youre looking for the giant college sized 2am burrito or if price is your highest priority, then this is not your place. If youre looking for great food at a sit down restaurant, give it a try. May I suggest the Mango Margarita :)

went there with a friend and i agree with most of the negative comments on here i am Mexican and there salsa is watered down or not hot enough and there chicken is not grilled nor has any taste to it i was afraid to try anything else but i tried on of my friends steak tacos and man was it bad i guess people dont grill anymore these days when it comes to mexican food that is a huge part of it if you order a meat dish and its not brought out on a hot skillet and sizzling then it must have been microwaved or re heated some way even chillis does that for you at least and the place was kinda dirty and humid and the restrooms lets not even go there :(

I would not suggest this place to anyone I know. Chips were mediocre at best. Salsa was not good, and they gave some nasty enchilada sauce with the chips. The guacomole had an entire slice of avocado in it... not really guacamole at that rate. The refried beans were so salty it was silly and the rice had zero flavor. Kids had cheese quesadillas. My son tried a couple bites of my wifes beef chimichanga and he thought the cheese quesadilla was better. My wife was not pleased with it. I had a chicken chimichanga and it was made with shredded chicken which was fine overall. No reason to ever go back.

This place was a disappointment. My fiance and i both ordered steak dishes well done. Both platters were pink. I ordered all the sides like sour cream guacamole etc. Not only did it cost me extra but then i didnt get it. The food tasted cold. Service wasnt that great either. My daughter spilled her chocolate milk while one server was standing right there. I had to ask for his towel then he brought me 2 napkins. Our waitress wasnt really interactive with us. We had to go get her a few times. Not to mention they were out of basically everything to drink. Waste of a $40 and we will not be returning

I am not sure what a lot of these townies are complaining about in the negative reviews. I am originally from Chicago so I can appreciate good Mexican food and also my wife is Mexican. I thought the salsa was delicious and there was nothing wrong with the chips. I had steak tacos and the tacos, rice, beans, and chips and salsa were all very good. This restaurant does not deserve 1 star because you didnt like the salsa. Dont believe the negative reviews, give this place a shot!

Worse service Ive ever experienced, the hostess was vey rude. We got there around 7:20pm, were seated around 8 and didnt get a server till about 8:45 because I finally went and find one myself. Then we didnt get our food and drinks until around 9:30. This the first and last time we will be going there. I asked for a manager multiple times and they never came out to talk to us I would give this place a -10

What a great find on the drive home! Friendly atmosphere, very welcoming staff and great food-the Chicken Azteca off the specials menu is highly recommended as are the Chiles Rellenos and the mushroom appetizer, all of which were recommended by our genuinely friendly and very caring hostess. A well-deserved five stars!

Food was great. Even though the place was busy and our waitress was swamped, the service was never lacking and she was always smiling. The only drawback to eating here in the winter, is that they dont have a vestibule. Every time someone opens the door, a cold draft blows through the dining area.

Very nice staff and restaurant. We all (3) had burritos. 2 had the steak portabella burrito which was awesome. And 1 had the chicken burrito, also awesome. Of course the pitcher of fresh strawberry margaritas went down very nicely too!

Good food and good drinks. The family that owns Casa Santiago is very nice and always welcomes us with a smile. Its never crowded when I go and thats why I keep going. Only one thing wrong: not enough TVs!!!

Waited an hour for 8 tacos and 2 enchiladas. They never came. Appetizer nachos were Taco Bell meat with microwaved melted slices of Munster cheese. I didnt know Munster was Mexican! Never going back

Not bad, a little bar type restaurant near the river. Had the steak tacos, meat was cooked nicely and the toppings were well balanced. I would eat here again.
