What I dont understand is that people take the time to make a comment on here and only put one or two lame words. This location is a good location. They recently terminated several employees and are seeking new employees to make the place a better experience. For the nut below me (George Olden), next time somebody doesnt ask you the kind of salad you want, tell them! Why would you let them leave if you knew darn well she wasnt getting the order right? Did you and your wife get off on seeing the waitress mess-up? I digress, This place has had its ups and downs and in fact, every restaurant in Mchenry on Route 31 has their bad days. Mchenry predominately has high school kids working the restaurants which means some of the staff couldnt care less. If you want great service, go downtown Chicago closer to the city to eat. But just know that they may mess up there too. Now this was a comment...

The two stars were because are waitress was super great!!!!!!!!! We do not complain about food while we are eating it. You never know these days what people will do it in the back room. How sad is that. So we SUCK IT UP and pay for crap! Anyway, I had Chicken Parm. My husband had Tour of Italy. As he was eating his face got a really concerned look upon it. He asked to take a bite of my parm, and I in turn took a bite of his. I had to spit it out right away. I do not know how he swallowed it. His was so UNDER DONE it was scary. Like I said nowadays we live in a world where you cannot even send it back to cook it again of fear you will have spit in your food. SOOOOO we paid the bill and he walked away hungry stopping at burger king for a burger. So beware of not the best quality over there. Someone is asleep in the kitchen.

We waited awhile just to get drink orders taken, with those we got our breadsticks but no plates. With our appetizer we were able to get plates from another waitress. The salad didnt come for even longer, even then it wasnt very much and three of us had ordered salad with our meals. Two of us waited at least twenty minutes for another soup, which was the meal for those two. While I understand that he mightve been new or that he mightve had other customers, the service was terrible regardless. He was constantly going to other tables and even setting up other tables. If he cant handle the tables he already has, he shouldnt be taking on more, Im just saying. Im definitely disappointed, as weve definitely never had service this bad here.

Ok I see myself as kind of the chain restaurant food critic. This place is in shambles. 7 min to be greeted once we sat down, between my wife and I the order was a simple soups and salad. Of course she didnt know what kind of soups to bring because she didnt ask. And but of course why would she come out with the ceaser salad I orders when she can bring a big bowl of house salad we can share. Straws? That would be nice. A fork attached to a napkin? Good idea. A lemon in my wifes water that she asked for? Guess you forgot to pick some today. Speaking of picking, you might want to think about using at a max...4 day old lettuce because this 2 week old stuff u are using is not going to cut it. Honestly McHenry, get it together.

We dont usually eat here, but took a chance after a less than impressive experience about a year ago. This time was worse. My zuppa toscana soup arrived with a large rotted section in one of the potato slices which they replaced, but never apologized for. My 7 year old wouldnt touch the water logged obviously reheated frozen kid pizza. To top off the experience, we are 99% sure she came down with food poisoning from the only thing she did eat - the grapes! Someone else had eaten everything else she had eaten that day except the grapes, and she was sick with vomiting and diarrhea for less than 12 hours with no fever. Please please please, eat there at your own risk!!!!

I have always been pleased with the dishes, appetizers (especially the calamari) , soups, salads, and bread sticks that are served. Somtimes do need to ask for more butter for the bread sticks and like to see the traditional oil and vinegar in a plate to use for dipping the bread in. But over all, very pleased with the restaurant - polite staff, excellent lunch deals...definitely would like to see more good house wines to choose from - but at their prices it is hard to beat. Last comment is that if they could do anything to improve, it would be to accept reservations to avoid long waiting lines - especially at holidays.

I had a great experience at Olive Garden today. I ordered for pick up and was taken care of by an employee named Cody. We order there at least twice a week. Today we ordered Chicken Marsala and Chicken Parmesan. He remembered that we like extra parmesan cheese, and that I like extra chicken in my chicken gnocchi soup. He even gave us extra breadsticks! I felt like a valued customer. We love this location. The food always tastes fresh and always prepared deliciously. Best experience I have ever had at a restaurant in Mchenry County. Keep up the good work!

My wife and I really like Olive Garden, but were consistently disappointed with this location. Like other reviewers have pointed out, the wait staff leave a lot to be desired. Each visit we thought maybe they were just having an off night, but each time weve had the same experience: low morale, very slow, and not overly helpful. Food presentation is also not up to par with other Olive Garden locations. All in all, even if you live in the McHenry area, the improvement in quality is worth the drive to give your business to the Vernon Hills location instead.

I have never seen such low morale! my server, although very nice, had no idea waht they were doing or had any product knowledge. i could hear people yelling at each other in the kitchen and the manager looked like a deer in the headlights. sorry Olive Garden but its just not that good! the Calamari took 20 minutes to come out, and when it did it didnt even cover the bottom of the plate and the pecies were tiny. The shrimp were burned, but someone fliped them over so I wouldent notice. Sorry charlie, I noticed! Really? Did you think i wouldent!

Went there today june 4th 2916 at 2:11 pm with the intention of eating with my girlfriend and Redhead and another girl up front we yapping away an Elderly man who barley could walk was getting carry out and they didnt offer or help to open the door. We helped the the guy out the door then approached the girls they should of opened the door and they said absolutely nothing no apologies or nothing. I will never step foot in the door of that place Ever man. We walked right out after how it was approached
