Lets start with the fact that shrimp is delicious and - in general - Red Lobster does a fine job preparing seafood to the masses. Shame on me for not checking Google reviews first!! Other recent reviews called out the lack of service. Our experience validates the need for change at this specific location. So, this review is specifically for this location. Ill preface my review with the fact that Ive worked in food service for years in every front of house role and most in the kitchen. Also, Saturday is busy - no question. So, that brings me to calling ahead and how they handled that experience: Our family was headed in the direction of this location and I called 45 minutes ahead to make a reservation. A helpful hostess answered (Nina) and explained that she couldnt take our reservation for that exact time because they have a two reservation at that time policy. I asked if another time would be better thinking we could adjust +/- 15 minutes if that works. Nina, the hostess, explained that our time shouldnt be a problem. The wait shouldnt be that long and they would just push two tables together. We arrived thirty minutes later - 15 minutes ahead of the time we originally anticipated - and the place was a mad house. Mad - as in customers were pushing through a crowd to get out - because they were angry with the place. I could see why. The host / hostess desk was disorganized, with 5 staffers standing around looking frazzled. I waited for my turn and asked for Nina. She identified herself, smiled and said she remembered my call. I asked her for the wait and she dead pan quoted me 90 minutes. 90 minutes. Stunned, I reminded her that she said she remembered my call and that we drove there based upon her suggesting that it wouldnt be long and that they could push tables together. She said that they are very busy. Yes, I agreed - which is why I called ahead and then drove there based upon what she told me. She looked uncertain of what to do. I asked if her manager is there and she gestured toward the middle of the group of frenzied staffers. After explaining that we called ahead and what Nina told us, the manager (Camille) actually smiled and said that they are *very* busy and that the wait is 90 minutes. She actually smiled as if enjoying the moment. We left and quickly hit Yelp. Blossom Cafe - nearby - was about a 10 -15 minute wait and has a great selection. Outback - a bit further - had a 10-15 minute wait and were very helpful. They also have terrific shrimp and salmon choices. Lessons learned: Yes, we understand how incredibly busy they are at Red Lobster (which is why we called ahead). Furthermore, train your staff on basic high volume phone etiquette. Ninas lack of detail and suggestion that they would get us in came across as a bait and switch. Very poor show! However, Camilles attitude of indifference that speaks volumes. She could have easily stepped aside to take in the details and act the manager. She didnt have to bump us in line (although that would have been nice) but at least buy us a round of drinks or apologize for the confusion. None of that happened - she was VERY busy, you see. Whatever. Plenty of great restaurants nearby. As for Red Lobster, I recall Yogi Berra put it aptly that restaurant is so busy, nobody goes there anymore.

Well, yesterday on March 8th 2015 it was my first time at Red Lobster and it could be also my last one! But thanks to Camila, the lady that she works there, I will probably come back again sometime... I called yesterday morning for reservation, spoke with Cynthia twice about that, told her that it will be 5 adults, so I need table for 5 When we arrived, one lady that was part of our group, she brought her 7 years old daughter... So, we needed either extra chair or bigger table but Cynthia, told me: " No way, cant help you with that! You were supposed to told us that when you mad reservation.." And she repeated that couple of times... I told her, I didnt know that she will come with her daughter but Cynthia didnt want to listen to me.. So, I almost went out, didnt want to stay there then, I saw Camila, told her what I need, whats going on, and with smile on her face she told me: " Dont worry sir, well take care of you, give me few minutes" In 2 minuets, we got bigger table! I was speechless... So, it started like disaster, my first time in Red Lobster ever, but on the end, it was happy end thanks to Camila, very nice, young, more then friendly lady, who knows her job and she treats customer in way how it supposed to be, with huge respect! Thanks Camila again!

I was disappointed on the serving of asparagus and salmon that was on the plate. ASPARAGUS - IT WAS OLD AND TOO DRY.when I took a bite It wont even cut , either they served me a old stock vegetable that been in the fridge for a long time or collected saved asparagus out from fridge that came from other customer that didnt eat it (smh) THE PORTION OF SALMON IS A little bit bigger of 1/4 SIZE OF ONE SLICE butternut BREAD - while we were eating a lady approached us if everythings ok -( a regular customer service approach) I informed here about my HOW WAS MY ASPARAGUS AND FOR A SALMON That looks like their cutting budget coz its so little for a price unlike the one on the menu. She asked if I wanted to replace it or want something else (remember the movie "WAITING " with Ryan Reynolds) that makes me not to accept what was offered for god who knows what would they do behind that kitchen or maybe Im just being paranoid coz of that movie. REGARDLESS, if they do it right in a first place , I would not make this comment nor you reading this. So we finished dinner and on our way out , I saw OTHER CUSTOMERs ASPARAGUS - its totally different from mine - they are not dry nor not overcooked , the way it look was sautéed perfectly, SMH.

Service was excellent. Food and drinks were good. Went with my elderly mom, and they seated us very close to the entrance- very nice not to make her walk through the dining room. Love the cheddar bay biscuits. Our waiter even brought a few in a to-go bag. Mom had crab legs, I had crab in linguine Alfredo. No appetizers or desserts. My entre was a bit salty tasting, and the next morning I woke up with swollen fingers from too much salt, just as if Id eaten lots of bacon. Other than that, the experience was great. Food was alright, not great. Nice location, though. Clean and decorated in usual Red Lobster fashion.

Went for a late lunch wife my wife today. The place was near empty, had to wait to be seated. Once seated waited 10 minutes or so for our waitress. We placed our order, waited another 10 minutes for our water and biscuits. The biscuits were under cooked. We finally got our food. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was over cooked and very oily. I never hot my coke slaw. My wife ordered the lobster rolls. What a joke, we had a hard time finding any lobster. I will never go back to this place and I will past this on to all my friends in Norridge.
