I went to Catch 35 in Naperville with some cousins last Friday night. We decided to all order off of the prix fixe menu, which might have been the reason for the problems with our dinner. The evening started off poorly - the waiter mentioned that he would bring out the bread, and we waited for almost 20 minutes before reminding him. He mumbled something about salads and appetizers before walking away. Luckily, we were able to flag down another server who brought us our salads, and he was able to bring us our bread. The salads were good portions, and our appetizer, the crab dip, was tasty, although sorely lacking in crab. The main courses were all disappointing. Both the salmon and the mahi mahi were overcooked and dry, and lacking in flavor. I had the blackened shrimp and scallops, which turned out to be a sauce made of tangy tomatoes and very sweet barbecue sauce. It did not taste blackened and spicy at all. Finally, we decided to get our desserts wrapped up to go because we were all quite full - at least the portions are healthy. This took another 20 minutes. I would not recommend the prix fixe menu - I dont know if their other entrees are more well prepared. Better yet, save your money and go to another restaurant. Another thing - they charge 18% gratuity on parties of 5 or more. Who does that?

Unbelievably horrendous experience on Saturday 1/30/16. We had a reservation for 4 adults at 6:15PM. The table was not ready when we arrived early at 6:00 PM....it was not ready at 7:00PM...or 7:15 PM (an hour later than our reservation) after numerous complaints to the hostess and seating staff. They put us in the bar area and could care less....explaining that their reservation system was screwed up and they were not prepared for an evening concert that was occurring at 8:00 PM at North Central College. Literally, dozens of people were in the same boat and the GM was hiding in the back...I asked for her and waited...only to hear the same story about reservation overbooking. We ended up eating in the bar area that was jammed with people...the food sucked! Cajun blackened salmon was raw in the middle....yes, raw and uncooked....the salads had almost no dressing...the drinks and food way overpriced. Save yourself some time, aggravation and money...spend it at another restaurant in Naperville that cares....like Sullivans, Hugos or many others in the immediate area. I find it hard to even give this restaurant, staff and especially the GM one star:)

I went their for a Friday night dinner and although the food was great, the customer service was extremely lacking. First of all, there was a continuous delay in waiter service. We had to ask for water and bread to be delivered to the table. After waiting for 15 minutes a waiter came in and said that their computer shut down and they lost the orders. We had to reorder and wait again. There was a couple sitting right next to us and they called a manager to complain regarding wine. After they left another couple sat down. After approximately 15 minutes we witnessed a waiter approaching them and apologizing for a delay in taking their order. In addition, for the type of service and ambiance, the food is overpriced. I understand it is in Naperville downtown, however the prices should go hand in hand with the level of customer service. The general feel and customer service are key features that turn new comers into repeat ones. Like I said the food and wine were awesome, but the staff seemed disorganized and inadequate.

We went to Napervilles Catch 35 tonight 7/5/2014 for our anniversary. We selected one of the "featured" items. The waiter described the two " featured" items as Atlantic Lobster for $25.00 and Alaskan Halibut. He did not give a price for the halibut. We are both educated people and thought that the way he described the "featured" items, that they were both the same price. When the check came the Halibut was significantly more money. When we asked about it he explained that both were featured items, but not the same price, even though in his intro, he only quoted one price. When we asked why the Halibut was even mentioned with the lobster tail, he said both were featured items. We asked how the Halibut could be considered "featured" when it was the menu price. He continued his explanation in the style of a trial lawyer - never really giving direct clear answers. The food and service were good, but the intro was definitely disappointingly obfuscated. We left feeling like we had been purposely mislead.

Made reservation for 815, did not get a table until 840. Evelyn at tre bar was Amazing! Very very attentive and greatly appreciate her being there and genuinely seemed to care about us being taken care of. Anyways, when we got our table we Waited for our wine bottle for ten minutes. For the money, I would like to see better service next time. The lady was nice but just slow, even when tables began to leave she was still unattentive. The busser was amazing! I was more impressed with the busser then the server. Get the guy a table! He deserves good tips! The filet medallions were really good along with the spinach. Yum. Im not a seafood person but the Chilean sea bass would be recommended for someone who would like to try something new. Pecan pie was full of pecans. Food was good , service was slow. But Ill blame it on the valentines weekend..

We love Catch 35. We were fans of the original location in Chicago and love the Naperville location just as well. If we were to pick a place for a fine dining experience in the western suburbs.... it would be Catch 35. (we love Hugos too, but for different reasons) Catch 35 is a place that you revel in. You spend time there and savor that time. The room is beautiful, the seating is exceptionally comfortable and the food is truly special. We always have to get the Schezwan scallops for an appetizer and have had great experiences with the Flounder and the Rib Eye steak with Crab meat. While its not cheap, you do get value. Great steaks, great drinks, great seafood. The quantity is appropriate, the quality is beyond. I cant rave enough.

My husband and I share meals often. I ordered their signature dish, the sea bass. The fish was so tough, I needed a knife to cut it. When I switched dishes with my husband, he refused to eat it, declaring the fish raw. We had the waiter take it back. The waiter informed us that the chef said that the tail end of the fish can be tough and that the fish was not raw, but just tough. Why did they serve us the tail end of the fish if they knew it was tough? They offered to make us a new dish and that was our only option. We did not want to "try again". We had to insist on a discount. They reluctantly gave us a few bucks off, but not the price of the entree. They dont stand by what they sell.

One of our fav places. The Tuna sashimi is REALLY good. Oyster wise they always have 3-4 to choose from, which is the most youre getting in Naperville. Both Hugos and Sullivans carry one kind, typ Blue Points. Nothing wrong with Blue Points but if youre connoisseurs like us then you understand the pleasure of a dozen sampler and finding new favs. So its either Catch or drive to Shaws in either Schaumburg or downtown. They also do a happy hour on oysters and drinks a few days a week. Ive never had a bad dish here as far as dinners go. Drinks are good and they dont short as far as cocktails go. Staff is professional and its a pretty solid organization theyre running here.
