My friend and I came to this restaurant based on the reviews in Google. We were driving by to our final destination in Florida and assign it to stop here, when we came in we were agreed it after a couple minutes and then said we were driving by to our final destination in Florida and assign it to stop here, when we came in we were agreed it after a couple minutes and then sested. The problem was the meal came called we sent it back and they brought the same – warmed up which made the meat The problem was the meal came cold we sent it back and they brought the same – warmed up which made the meet hard. At least the manager was kind enough to replace the meal. The only other experience was that the other employees were looking at us like why are we complaing?! The food was delicious once they fixed the problem no question about it but wish service was better.

My wife Judith and I stopped in at the Half Shell Oyster House in Mobile for a late lunch on the way back to Louisiana after a weeks stay in Georgia where we visited our grandchildren and participated in a benefit tasting at Vino 100 for our quadriplegic artist Milton Vines. We both shared a medley of chargrilled, Bienville, Rockefeller, and Orleans oysters as well as a bowl of Lobster, shrimp and corn chowder.. This is a relatively new restaurant, but they definitely have it going on! The service was impeccable, and the restaurant was packed, rightfully so...what an oasis in the night! We will make point of dining there again she we travel to Georgia....Bravo!

The most amazing meal! Samantha was our waitress and we give her top marks! We started our meal with an appetizer of Voodoo Shrimp, not only were they gulf shrimp they were served to us immediately so they were wonderfully hot with Half Shells own Voodoo sauce, remarkable. My husband ordered the seafood platter and got a variety of different seafoods he was very pleased with, oysters, fish fillet, crab cake & more and 2 sides. I ordered Filet Orleans. And oh-mah-ba-gee-beez! I have never had such a perfectly cook steak! So tender and juicy with shrimp on top. Perfection. Again, came with 2 sides. Recommend! Recommend! Recommend!

I made reservations for the private room, to hold my Grandfathers 85th birthday party. When I arrived the hostess very rudely informed me that we could not be seated in the private dining room, because I didnt pay a reservation fee that no one told me about! All this, despite the fact that someone had just confirmed my reservation via phone. Finally, she said that she would seat us in the room. After ten minutes of waiting, the room wasnt ready and she hadnt apologized for the inconvenience. My family and I decided to leave, which ultimately ruined the party. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant!

What can I say, this place is ridiculously good. Each time I come here I make sure to get the oysters to start off with. They do come from Texas which I was was told. They are juicy and succulent. I also get the seafood pasta which comes with crawfish, pasta, shrimp and topped with jumbo lump Crabmeat but they load it down with crabmeat not just throw a few pieces on top. Every time I have been has been a treat and havent had anything bad each time. I would go back time and time again. Recently my whole family came in for brunch and everyone loved it.

This place is always a surprise for me. I find it to be in an inconvenient location (just like anything on Airport blvd.). But each and every time Ive eaten here, everything has been great. Ive never had bad service (fingers crossed) and the food has been surprisingly succulent given the price point. It isnt often that a party of three can order an appetizer, fresh meals, and a glass or two without a down payment due after seating. Im not sure how they keep the prices so low while keeping the quality of food so high. Maybe they just like me?

Went there last night, HORRIBLE experience! The waitress was not on point, food cold, bad service all around. We asked for crackers and it took almost 10 minutes to get that. Thats not the bad part. We ordered appetizers and it took about 20 minutes to receive. It took almost 45 minutes to receive the food. I was being patient but I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone. The manager offered all of us free dessert, but I wish the food and mist of all the service was better.

Our server Courtney was awesome. Im a vegetarian and she made some great recommendations and suggestions of how they could vegetarianize something for me. I had a pasta with broccoli and tomato with alfredo sauce, it was so good. My boyfriend got the fried shrimp which he said was great. She was also able to make us a little meal of grilled chicken and rice for our sick dog back at the hotel. And everything was very fast- which we appreciated as we had been on the road all day.

This was our familys first time dining at Half Shell. We were very impressed with the food and the atmosphere! We ordered charbroiled oysters and the seafood pot pie; they were Heavenly!!! I strongly recommend those flavorful dishes!!! The service was spectacular, our waitress was Allye who was very friendly and even their Manager, Emerson, came out to greet us and made us feel just as welcomed as the atmosphere

It took 10 minutes to get us seated and the place was almost empty. Entrees and appetizers were mediocre at best. Poorly run by immature kids it seems. After being served we never saw our server again and no other server seemed interested in assisting us. I guess refills are too much of a hassle. Traffic is a nightmare entering and leaving. We drove 25 miles because we read it was so good. Not again.

Great oysters and preparations. We sat at the bar and the oyster shuckers prepared a couple "off the menu" broiled oysters that were easily some of the best I have had. The smoked Gouda cheese grits were great as well. Lastly, I asked the bat tender if she would make me a custom cocktail that she wasnt familiar with - not only did she do it but she also made it better than I can make it at home.

VERY DARK; not like dimly lit romantic, but have to use your phone to be able to read the menu. I thought it may just be tired eyes from the road, but other tables were using their phones as flash lights too. When the servers were sweeping the floors, they were using their phones flash to see. The food was pretty good but over priced. I had the grilled tuna and it very flavorful. Pic included.

The ambiance sets the mood for a relaxing date night. The food is prepared fresh and perfectly seasoned. Our server knew the menu very well and made excellent suggestions. We had the oyster Rockefeller, smoked tuna dip. I ordered the seafood potpie which was Devine. My husband had the seafood sampler, which was perfectly fried, not overcooked. Our newest go to place in West Mobile
