Dined at South Kawa last night and had a pretty good experience with the food. There were only about five other people in the restaurant at the time, but since the location is not the best for a Sushi restaurant, the limited number of people was understandable. Service was good and fast. Was a little on the pricey side, but we were lucky to find an available Groupon as we were sitting there. Without the Groupon, would have been a little disappointed with the price. The environment is hard to judge as any restaurant that is mainly empty would have an odd ambiance.

Never disappointed at Kawa I completely disagree with Salida Mirzoeva. We have been to various other sushi restaurants and have found Kawa in Bridgeport to be the best so far. The prices are reasonable and the waitress and staff are super friendly We feel like Norm in the TV series Cheers. We are often given extras and the kids enjoy the treats. The Dynamite, Volcano rolls and Black Dragon rolls are phenomenal. The location is convenient for us and we are please to have such a great sushi place near our home. Perhaps Salida should give Kawa a second try.

I just ordered take out from this restaurant from the first time last night and OH MY GOSH! It is hands down the best sushi delivery I have ever experienced. If this is the quality post-car ride, I can only imagine what the experience of actually visiting the restaurant could be. My spicy tuna rolls had great crunch, the Hawaiian roll and king crab rolll I ordered were also totally delicious. They have ramen for the boyfriend, and the delivery was faster than most! Cant wait to dine in :)

This is the most cookie cutter sushi restaurant I have ever been to, that being said, it does not discount the quality of the food. Their soups are very good and the sushi is on par with any other "good" sushi you will have around the city. Whenever I come here the place is relatively empty which makes me wonder how they stay in business when Ive been in on Friday evenings and been seated right away, in an 80% empty restaurant. Either way, its good food. Enjoy.

Ate at South Kawa on a Saturday night with a Groupon- there were four tables of diners. Service was fast and friendly and it is BYOB. The sushi rolls were about average for Chicago. They tasted OK. Could have been bigger and more "unique". The fact that we brought in our own beer made it much better. Street parking was easy.

This is some of the BEST sushi that weve had!! The Cherry Blossom is the best!! The staff is friendly and accommodating. This is also a BYOB restaurant!! The prices are average. This is not a large, fancy place but the service is excellent. The restaurant is clean every time we visit. I highly recommend it!

The food is good and they prep food fast but the food is quite expensive! 6 dollars for 5 pieces of vegetable sushi! Comparing to other sushi store this sushi place is a bit pricy! I would def go again but not in awhile due to the price!
