My husband and I are hard core Hananoki fans dedicated customers to their hibachi grill... were. We were. We have a date night at least once a month, a time to get away from the kids and take time just for us. Generally we go to Hananoki every time, but this time my husband asked if I wanted to try Sakura. Sure, why not... if it is terrible we learned a lesson, if it is okay, well - its closer to home. What. a. shock. When we pulled in, it was a bit lackluster outside, and there were not many cars in the parking lot. Inside was very homey, kinda dark, and you could hear the radio playing. There was one table of people... I was skeptical. The napkins were folded up like origami with the fork and chopsticks, on this pretty plate (that looked like it was shipped straight from Japan). Everything was very clean and organized. The waitress was very nice and she sat us at our grill table, and we waited. That was a big plus - the ladies at Hananoki always seem to try to be rushing people in and out, and if the table cant be filled right then - you have to wait in the lobby area. She brought us our drinks (which the "Adios Motherfu*ker" is AMAZING by the way) and we waited patiently and looked at the sushi menu - amazing sushi at a great price. Another couple came in and she sat them with us and a few minutes later ( maybe 10 minutes after sitting down) she took everyones orders. The soup was great - you can tell they use the bones of the animal in the stock (or something of the sorts) since it was so flavorful... I was not a fan of the salad dressing but my husband loved it. They cleared our table as soon as we were finished with each thing and then we waited maybe MAYBE 5 minutes for the chef to come out. It was so amusing. There was a child at our table with the other couple and he made sure she had a blast. He was friendly, funny, and engaging and made the whole experience really fun. He had us all laughing from start to finish... even when he was cleaning the grill it was entertaining! The rice, which we did not pay extra to have fried rice - was so yummy and he even added sriracha for the guys. ALL the food was yummy... especially the weird spaghetti noodle and sweet potato thing... not really sure what it was called but it was so good. (I ate half my husbands too haha) I was full before all the food was on my plate... There was SO much food. Dinner was even finished with ice cream. And we were not rushed out the door... They told us to stay as long as we wanted to. All in all, like any hibachi grill, it is going to be a bit pricey, its entertainment and dinner. But let me tell you all what - my husband and I both got 2 drinks each, plus a sweet tea, a full dinner (like 3 meats; I got chicken, shrimp, and steak (which was cooked PERFECT) and my husband got chicken, shrimp, and scallops) and a huge sushi platter... for around $80. We always leave Hananoki spending well over $150 and never have that much left over. Good job to Sakura - if you are wanting yummy food and a good show at a damn good price, try this place. You shouldnt be disappointed.

I have eaten there several times. Its not worth the price because the building, the food and the service are low end but the price is high end. Its an old restaurant and the management hasnt done anything to maintain it. If its winter time dont sit in the booth because the windows draft cold air on you the whole time you are sitting there. It just doesnt warrant the high end prices they charge. There are plenty of other restaurants where the service, atmosphere and quality of food is top notch. Every time I have sat at the center and have a chef come out to cook the food in front of you it has always been delicious. Every time I have sat at a booth the food has been terrible. The last time we ate there (3 Jan 2016) we sat at the booth and everything on the plate was lukewarm. It was obviously not freshly cooked. I suspect it was leftovers from lunch the day before by the looks of it. The vegetables were cold, soft and mushy. The chicken was good but it was almost cold. The calamari was good but cold. The shrimp was good but cold. The steak was overcooked and rancid. It looked like it came out of my fridge from last weeks BBQ. Complained to the waitress and she brought us out some "fresh" steak that made my stomach turn to taste it. We both had the runs the next day. Complained again and the waitress brought us out a 10% off coupon for our trouble. The manager either wasnt notified or didnt care. Any other steakhouse in town would have been bending over backwards to find out what was wrong and how could they fix it. The staff has really lost touch with what it means to provide quality service and at around $45 for the two people to eat (no tip) they need to be very service oriented. Take your $$$ somewhere else, you will be wise to avoid this restaurant.

When we move to an area, my husband and I make it a personal mission to find good Japanese food. Luckily, that hunt didnt take long because we found this place pretty quick! You have the choice from hibachi at the grill or plated and served from the kitchen at a booth. They gave a selection of other classic dishes, but we <3 hibachi, so I dont pay much attention to the other options. Prices are decent (most hibachi is under $20/person, but some of the combos can get up to $25). Meal is ginger salad, clear soup, fried rice (regular or spicy), noodles, veggies, and meat. The noodles are cooked with yum sauce, ginger sauce, and tempura sweet potato, which can get pretty sweet. You can ask for some without it. Dinner also includes a free sorbet dessert. Food is a large portion and you will likely have left overs. Some of the chefs are more show oriented than others. And they like to try to toss rice into your mouth. Be prepared. Their lunch specials for sushi are good EXCEPT the crunch roll. That was awful. Its panko in a seaweed wrap. I definitely preferred their hibachi to their sushi. They can get crowded, but there is rarely a wait to get a table and a chef. Added bonus: they seem to have a wait time limit before theyll call a chef out. Ive been to some places where they wont start without 8 people at the table. This place is more of the "well, its been 10 minutes. We have 6 people. Lets get started." In fact, I dont remember waiting more than 5 minutes from seated to start. If more people come in, theyll just seat them at another table.

I have ate here several times enjoyed their lunch but today may 5 2016 friend and I had lunch n after buying for our food. We were still enjoying conversation n finishing drinking our teas n i couldnt get nothing else out my straw than i huge piece of meat comes through my straw. Look at the bottom of my glass noticed all this food flowing around ask 4 manager they wouldnt get the manager n not give me back my money for poor service. They thought it was very funny when i got anger about the situation. Ill will never spend my money with this nasty ass place again. That made me sick to my stomach vomiting once i got outside they were more worried about money than making a customers happy who comes in there all the time just to keep 8.96. I wouldnt spend my money here again or recommend no one else to do so.. Their dishrs ate nasty n they dont care still going to serve u with those nasty cup cleary the waiter should of seen this in my glass but yet fit me a drink anyway.. Sorry ass service here at this place..
