Hard to go wrong with anything you try at Green Tea. The crunchy roll is an absolute must you will never have anything else like it it truly is a treat. Great sashimi and sushi rolls. A BYOB option is always nice. The place is only 18 seats so you do have to wait from time to time but the fish is always fresh and delicious, they do a great take out business and the one server who works the entire floor manages to make you feel at home no matter how busy she is. Green Tea is some of the best sushi in the city at some of the best prices.

Really liked the waitress/cashier ladys service. I was writing my 5 star review when the man behind the sushi bar was so rude to us. The lobster volcano was extremely salty so we asked if it could be fixed. Instead of even apologizing, he treated us very rude, like we can eat it or leave. So we left. We used to be regular customers but we will never ever ever go back there again. Those looking for sushi can go to Umai. Great service, great food.

Went to Green tea for the first time earlier this week and absolutely loved it. The food was fresh - every dish was to die for but the spicy tuna rolls were the standout. Dinner for 2 (1 appetizer and 3 entrees) came to 26 + a generous well deserved tip. Love it and will definitely go back as often as possible - easily the best food in Chicago and sushi isnt amongst my top 5 fav cusines!

That WAS the best California in Chicago!!! That was our favorite Japanese restaurant in Chicago! But couple month ago I ordered some for me and my friends. One of my friend could sleep after dinner , she was sick. Today 12/18/16 I got my order , my favorite California and I realize, that crab in it was stinky. This is awful. We will never trust you again!!!

After having sushi here I can never get myself to pay for the "high-end" sushi thats sold elsewhere. This is quality stuff at prices that make a complete sushi meal a cheap eat vs a big hole in your pocket. The chefs are very friendly too and so is the staff, it tends to get very very crowded, so takeout is advisable. They also do delivery, if that helps.

Not a bad little sushi place if you live in the area! Good service and decent food. I prefer Kamahachi quality of food, but Green Tea is family owned, friendly and less expensive. Only about 3 or 4 tables, but Ive never had a wait. This is my moms favorite place and enjoy going with her. Street parking only so plan for that.

Dont want tell you how much I like Green Tea, since they only have 18 seats - and I claim one! Amazing crunchy salmon roll, so good you have to try it (fried, but so worth it!) love the spicy tuna and ginger salad dressing is among the best Ive had. Great neighborhood sushi, BYOB and extremely reasonably priced!

You must try it! The food is reasonably priced and who can turn down BYOB. The only downside is the wait for seating. But if you crack your wine or beer you can have a drink or two while you wait. Lastly I must encourage you all to get the scallop appetizer- it is quite rich but tasty as ever.

Bad business. The menu online is considerably different than the one in store. NOT in terms of menu selection but in terms of price. A roll for $5.75 on the online menu is priced at $7.75. Thats bad business and they refused to honor the priced and own up to their mistake.

This is a very small place but the chef and his staff will always cater your needs I love their sahimi platter, and their rolls always have very easy rice. Additionally this is a BYOB which makes it even better, one last statement their lunch menu is very cost effective.

The restaurant was small and and laid out properly. The staff was prompt and attentive. Now that I have that out of the way. The quality of fish set this place on the top of my sushi destinations. Just be ready to pay for it!

The sushi here was really, really good, the service was outstanding, and the prices were reasonable. Be warned that there are very few seats inside!

Sushi is as good as in other more expensive restaurants but much cheaper. Sashimi is not great and service is lame. Overall, very good.

Not sure what the big fuss is about. The food is below average. The rice in the rolls seemed to be alittle sweet for my liking.
