What a disappointing meal. My friend and I made reservations Friday night and couldnt get in until 9pm and when we walked up the place was almost dead. We both shared the cheese combo plate. The cheeses we picked were good but literally we only had a bite or 2 each. It had to be the smallest cheese plate I have ever had. Next we had the suya beef because the written description sounded so good. The taste was awful!! It tasted like leather and we both took a bite and could not eat it. I asked to return it immediately. Lastly, we tried the angus beef sliders. No flavor or sauce to add. It was the driest slider I have ever had. My friend actually joked that it didnt taste like beef but tasted like horse. We had a nice laugh though over our meal. We ended up having to spend more money elsewhere to eat as we were still super hungry after our poor choices and did not want to pay more to them for bad food. Also they do not have any type of risotto!! Huge disappointment since it is on their online menu. The plus parts would be the server, he was super smily and friendly and the 3oz wine pours. Still pricey but they have a good selection of wines. For that 2 stars is given instead of 1.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Delivery takes nearly two hours when they said it would be 45 to 60 minutes and upon calling to ask that be remedied they did nothing and I was very polite and rarely leave reviews.. Also side note.. it isnt worth the money the noodles taste like the packaged ramen you get in the store and the pork ramen comes with one piece and you are given instructions to cook it.. I love cooking but order out so I didnt have to for a night lol plus noodles were in a big glob upon arrival.. for 13.80 you should atleast get the standard three pieces oh and the egg was no where near soft boiled. .. I mean come on. There are way better ramen places in the area and close by go there! :)

Imagine ramen, a cool and hip trend nowadays, was served by your really boring parents. This ramen joint gets the product right for the most part, especially serving broth that isnt super salty, as compared by some other ramen planned that have people waiting in line bc of all the"buzz", but the atmosphere on a Friday evening in August is comparable to when a party is over and you walk in on the staff cleaning up. This restaurant is open, there are people on the street, but no one is eating here. They have good food but bad advertising.

I ordered food from Jinya Ramen for delivery. I received cold food that actually required me to heat it up in a Microwave. I ordered food for delivery to avoid the cooking process. There was no mention of having to cook the food on the website I ordered from. I called the restaurant to complain, and the person I spoke to admitted the error, but did not apologize and was quite frankly rude about the situation. I would never order from them again, or visit the restaurant, as the member of staff I spoke to was very unprofessional.

Its a Sunday afternoon and that may be part of the problem but it was pretty eh. I got the chef special. The ramen felt like it had been sitting for a while. The egg wasnt really close to soft boiled. The overall tempature of the whole piece wasnt quite where it needed to be. The most disappointing part is that overall the flavor wasnt very strong. However at $15 with tax its something Id be willing to try again during peak hours to see if some of the other reviewers are right and I landed here on a bad night.

Ive been to at least 6 ramen places in Chicago and Jinya is my favorite so far. Broths are incredibly well seasoned and flavorful, not too oily or greasy. I judge ramen places by their noodles, and I love how Jinyas noodles are chewy and tender. They stand out from a lot of the other ramen places that serve noodles that are too starchy and chalky. They have a large variety of ramen options and are also reasonably priced (not like many other places that charge around $16 a bowl). Tip: Try the gyoza appetizer.

Dont order online. You will be wasting your time and money. Suggested delivery time is 45-60 minutes. I didnt get my food until 1 hr and 30 mins later, after I called and reminded them I was still waiting. Also, they did not have the drivers number to contact or locate, so when I asked how much longer, they couldnt answer. Overall, just a terrible experience, received luke warm ramen, with what felt like an inadequate amount of pork.

Jinya Ramen Bar upholds traditional ramen noodle standards, which is apparent in their rich flavors and fresh ingredients. Bowls are extremely customizable, and there are plenty of Asian-style tapas to pair with main dishes. Give their cold ramen a try for a very different ramen experience. Prices are extremely affordable, but Jinya has been known to run Groupons for additional savings! Keep an eye out.

They have really good ramen but they constantly forget to add the extra toppings Ill order. I also tried the delivery service and it was on time but my ramen was terrible. The noodles were in one big ball, the broth had no flavor, and they forgot my extra toppings again! Its really disappointing because I enjoyed the ramen when I was inside the shop.

A fantastic place to come to warm up on a cold windy day. First time here and tried their Jinya Chicken Ramen. Great price with a good portion where it will leave you comfortably full (and not feel like you are going to explode). Aside the servers taking a little while to get our order, the food came out fairly quickly. Will definitely return.

Modern, fusiony ramen bar in Lakeview/Lincoln Park area. Its going for the trendy feel so I didnt expect the food to be very authentic. The ramen was pretty good - I got the special of the day: chicken broth with fried brussels sprouts. It was pretty good. The eggplant miso was disappointing - too greasy and too sweet.

Black tonkatsu was good but slightly off on flavor and bit spicy: the chili oil was all in one spot, so a bit shocking. The white ramen was very good. Its a bit off-putting that they charge for all their extras, but it gives some flexibility. The service was suspect, despite the place being empty.

The service was good but the Ramen was very mediocre. I have had Jinya at their location in Austin and it was great but this location was just ok. Might have just been an off night so probably will try again since I have had better experiences at some of their other locations

Great food. I took my boyfriend here due to the fact he loves Ramen and we had a extremely good dinner and enjoyed ourselves. They also offer a menu with a few cool grownup beverages. Good meals at an affordable rate whilst making the area sense very secure and first-rate

Best ramen in Lakview. Not sure about other neighborhoods because Im perfectly satisfied with Jinya delicous ramen right where I live and dont need to look elsewhere. I have had other ramen in the area and there is no comparison. Jinya is the best.
