Ordered at 9:32 pm on Jan. 18, 2017. Before ordering we asked Mark if we could still order food to dine in. His response was yes. We received our food around 9:40 pm. Everything was fine with the food, no issues with the drinks table or cleanliness. A couple minutes before 10:00 pm, the cook came into the dining room with his jacket on and said to us, "You guys got 30 seconds left to finish because we leave at 10." Our first reaction was that he was joking. We thought he was being sarcastic by "rushing us" and just playing around. It took me longer because I have a physical disability as well as many health problems. Before I could even start eating, I had to take multiple medications and also I needed to use the restroom (as did my husband) so although we had about 20 minutes left to eat, we lost a few minutes of that time by me taking medication and both of us using the restrooms. A couple minutes after 10, the cook approached us again. He seemed very annoyed. He took my husbands basket and left mine because I was still working on my burger. He came back a third time and said, "Come on, do you need a to go box or what? Youve had 30 minutes to eat and we want to go home." By this point, I was 99% sure he was NOT joking. He crossed the line absolutely into the rude zone. After realizing that this employee was being serious with me by telling us to leave multiple times, I stopped eating (I still had food left in my basket). I was humiliated, embarrassed and wanted to leave. When I stood up, I could see this agitated employee leaning against a wall by the kitchen. He didnt say anything to me, but looked my way and I said, "Were you joking or were you serious by saying I had to leave now?" He said, "You had 30 minutes to eat a burger we just want to go home." We engaged in a confrontation/conversation at this point and Mark came out and just stood there quietly at the register. I said, "That is not how you should treat a customer, its only a couple minutes past 10 and I was finishing as fast as I could. That is very rude to say to me multiple times to leave when it is only a couple minutes past closing." He said, "Thats not rude. It shouldnt take that long to eat. We are ready to leave." I said, "But when I got here I asked him (pointing to Mark) if you guys were open until 10 and if it was okay to still make a dine in order and he said yes." My husband looked at Mark and said to him, "You dont have any comment to say about this?" Mark said (with his head hanging down, shyly) "We have been here all day and just want to go home." We realized that we werent welcome at this restaurant and certainly not respected as a customer. Mark did NOTHING to calm his employee down or reassure us that they appreciated our business. We have all worked jobs in the public and understand wanting to leave at a reasonable time when it is time to close. I am not sure exactly what time we left, but I can tell you that as soon as I got to my car the clock said 10:08 pm. My husband and I were having a nice dinner together, but even before it turned 10:00 pm we were told that we had 30 seconds to go. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. What kind of customer service is it to demand your customers leave the very second it turns to closing time? Because of where were live, we used to always go to the Bloomingdale location and we love Smashburger a lot. Since that location (and Schaumburg) closed, we drove out of our way to go to the Arlington Heights location. We are very disappointed and embarrassed. As a person with a disability, it is not so easy to go out in public because of what others might think of me walking with a cane or not being able to perform tasks fast. Because of my many health conditions, I cannot eat as fast as I want to or as fast as I used to. I was completely humiliated tonight with how I was treated and left feeling harassed. I have no interest to ever go to any Smashburger location if that is how they view customers and especially the insensitivity displayed for customers with disabilities.

Ive heard a lot about this place and wanted to give it a try... Was not impressed at all about the food or the service. Staff was loafing around talking with their friends by the pick up window not even acknowledging any customers. witnessed several people not in any sort of uniform running around and goofing off with the staff and manager (I believe he was because he wore a red shirt). Myself and two other customers waited 15 minutes for our food which wasnt bad but when I received my food it was dry and cold. Kind of like they cooked it yesterday, pulled it out of the fridge, and let it warm up to room temp before packaging. I hope this is not a reflection of the whole chain and just linked to this location. Will not come back and do not recommend to anyone!

Ive never had a bad experience at a Smashburger....until today. I saw orders mis-delivered, then brought back to the kitchen. I saw the cashier trying to take orders, deliver food, and answer phones simultaneously while other workers stood around like they were on strike. My wifes dine-in milkshake order was served in a to-go cup (which, if youre familiar with Smashburger, means that you get a significantly smaller portion). The food was still good, and normally Im a fan--I hope they get their Smash together.

The food was good! However I remember when this place opened and over the years the cleanliness has declined. The area where you fill your drinks was dirty and dusty. The high chairs had crumbs on them. The booths had ripped cushions. The employees were screaming at one another to come take our order. The food was delicious but the service and cleanliness wasnt up to par at all.

My wife, Tara Layne wrote the review right below mine. We were contacted by Galen Sullivan (this locations GM) on February 4 and have not heard back despite multiple attempts to get a hold of him. Total lack of class from the top of the corporate ladder all the way on down to local management., Smashburger. Pathetic.

These guys are great: particularly Jake. Sorry to see Mark go. Why do I know the managers names? We have kids with allergies, and they have gone above and beyond (even when its busy) to assist us. So we go back again, and again. Food & service is great otherwise; nice to have the option of a beer.

I think they have really good burgers! The burgers are full of flavors and cooked just right. The fries are very thin and fried to perfection. I also get the shake. You get the shake plus the metal cup its made in with more. Yum! The people are friendly. The place is clean. I will return!
