Food is Perry good IF you can get it. The first time we came was ok, only because the food is good. Several attempts after that e have literally stood in the middle of this tiny place while the staff starred at us. No/slow help! Its a local joint that could care less about thier neighbors. I just stood there and waited for someone to just tell me where to sit and a lady came in 15 minutes after me and said "oh you just wait for someone to get up and grab a seat". As she grabbed the table for herself. My entire family was now standing in the Tavern looking like idiots. Im 67 with tattoos and for the 20 minutes we stood there, not 1 employee said a word to us. I will never return to this place. I have referred almost 100 people there because of my first experience and now I am doing a review. (That I do not do often)

Rudest. Staff. Ever. Have given this place 4 chances & only because we liked the wings the first time. Wont happen again. "Manager" (so we were told) came outside & smoking right next to the No Smoking sign & we asked the waitress to ask the smoker to go elsewhere (considering the No Smoking sign) & she hesitated because she said "um well hes a manager here" but she did & he proceeded to move to the sidewalk even closer to us just to be a jerk. We had to leave before we got our food. We like to give business to local places but never again will it be this one. With the exception of our waitress tonight (wasnt her fault & she was the first nice one) staff has been rude, disrespectful, and dismissive each time. They well ignore you till you grow old......

My wife and I went here on Valentines Day after a day of hiking in the area. There was no line to wait for a seat. We just strolled in and grabbed a couple of stools at the bar. Great atmosphere and nice bartender. It was busy but not slammed. They had a nice selection of beer from local and Georgia breweries (Craft Beer Rocks!) The menu is what you would expect and hope for in a brick walled slightly rustic tavern - great selection of burgers and sandwiches and not much else. Thats all we were looking for. They had all of the classics to choose from and I had an incredible beast of a cheese burger. It was delicious as was the beer. We could not have been more pleased. I have recommended them and will continue to do so and will most certainly return.

Just love this bar/restaurant. They have an outside area where you can bring your dogs or just enjoy the out of doors. Everything on the menu is really good. The wings are the best anywhere , they have mozzarella sandwiches, also portobello mushroom sandwiches. Burgers and other baskets are really great. But this is my go to wing place. I love the sweet jalapeño sauce for the wings is excellent. Not too hit st all despite the name! Bar is jumping and always full. Waitresses and waiters are top line. Always taking care of your needs. A really special place. Go enjoy and relax.

My husband and I give the River Street Tavern burger a 5/5. The service was a 1.5/5 because of lack of refills, appetizer was forgotten (brought out with our meal after we reminded the waitress), forgot condiments after we requested them, burger wasnt dressed (brought out much later) after we requested again. Loaded Potato Salad was a 5/5. Chips & salsa & cheese dip appetizer incredibly over priced, but good. If not for the service and over priced appetizer, it would have been a 5/5.

My friend Taylor and I decided to come here after a long day after work; likewise, we were greeted with a friendly, "has anyone helped you, and I said no, not yet." The server came over and took our order; however, my friend ordered a taco salad and it took 20 minutes until it came to our table. That being said, the waiter has still not given us the check and it has been over 30 minutes since we ordered. The service speaks for itself if you ask me at this joint!

Amazing wings, their taco salad is awesome and their black Angus burgers are so delicious. I have eat here 20+ times. They allways seem to have live music on the weekends for dinner. My family loves going here to eat because of the friendly staff and talkative locals. Its a great place to relax and have a drink and some amazing food. I can not say enough about this place! I would highly recommend everyone to check it out while they are in Ellijay.

On my first visit I ordered a "Tavern Burger" and it came out three time as the wrong burger. Today on my second visit I asked for the same "Tavern Burger" and they tried to poisen me as I told them I was allergic to mushrooms and they served me the burger twice with mushrooms and the last time as a rare burger after ordering it as medium rare. This place is very disappointing and you dont get what you asked for nor do they even seem to care.

I specifically asked for extra-crispy wings for a to go order. They brought out wings that were barely cooked and the farthest thing from crispy you could imagine. I had to put them in the oven for a while to crisp them up, and all the sauce, which I paid extra for, was removed during the baking process. I wish I had checked the wings before going home, but I dont see how anyone could confuse soggy chicken skin with extra crispy. :(

I would describe the food as average, with the exception of the side garden salad, which was terrific. However, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. To be fair, I was warned that the kitchen was backed up (weekend lunch rush), and my server made sure my Coke was refilled, but if youre waiting for over an hour for your order and its merely okay, thats a big letdown.

The name says it all. You get a River Street Savannah feel with a English Tavern twist. The wait and kitchen staff are second to none and if you happen catch the owners while during your visit you will see why, they fun and engaging with everyone and its directly reflected in their staff. Definitely one of a kind and a must see destination if your ever in the area.

This place has a great atmosphere with that "old man" bar feel. Food is always great and the beer selection is the best around. Great place to watch a game or listen to some local, live music. Always seems to be busy but service is great and the owner often roams around to check on the customers. We are regulars when we are at the cabin!!

Great food and atmosphere. We were visiting from outta town and wanted to enjoy some local activities. This place fit the bill. Live music started at 6:30 and was a pleasure to listen to. I had the Black and Blue burger and it was delicious! Definitely recommend to those visiting that enjoy craft beer, great bar food, and excellent service.
