I have been to Slice & Pint many times (and been for the most part satisfied, especially by the beer), but I have never had a worse experience at the Slice & Pint in Emory Village than I had today. I brought some coworkers (who will be in town on a job for the next 2 or 3 months) to Slice & Pint, raving about the food and the beer. The service was bad: It took too long for us to put our order in, and, after waiting at least 25 minutes, our waitress told us 3 separate times (over the next 25 minute time span) that "your food is coming out of the oven right now." It was finally brought to our table. The food was worse than the service: Everything was ice cold, from the "not so hot" sandwiches that had just "come out of the oven" to the fries that may as well have been taking directly out of the freezer bag and plated. Because we were hungry, we reluctantly ate our very sub-par sandwiches. The staff did bring out a bowl of "hot" fries ... which were not that hot ... to make up for the cold ones. I dont know what it is about Slice & Pint, or the waitstaff, or management, or the cooking staff, but there is no excuse to take a hot sub out of the oven and then let it sit on a plate until the cheese congeals into a lukewarm rubbery blob (yes, I ate a lukewarm rubbery blob for lunch today). When we were asked "How was everything?" we complained about everything Ive just written. We were then told that our check would be "discounted" ... and it was: Our approximately $74.00 check was reduced to $64.00, when instead, not only should the entire meal been comped, but we should have been given coupons for "The next ones on us" or at least a 50% off coupon. I have worked near the Slice & Pint in Emory Village since they opened, and I have gone there at least once or twice (or more) a month since then. I will not be going back to eat at this or any Slice & Pint after being served their extremely poor excuse for food. You have lost what would probably have been a weekly trip to Slice & Pint by my out-of-town coworkers, and I will not be going back for the food ... although I guess Ill still stop by once in a while for the beer. I suppose if I were to walk over to the Slice & Pint and be given a voucher for $64.00 worth of food and/or beer, I might give your food another chance ... but is that going to happen? I doubt it. Finally, based on several previous negative reviews of Slice & Pint, the problems Ive described appear to be a regular occurrence, and apparently nobody at Slice & Pint cares enough to fix them. Fine. Goodbye is too good a word for you Slice & Pint, so Ill just say Fare Thee Well.

12/2014 update to original review.. They brew beer now, I had the Mr. Nice IPA. Five stars for the brew! Unfiltered, hoppy & fresh tasting! Good start! Salad is average, nothing wrong with it but nothing special. Next the pizza... A home run in my book, good crust tasty toppings. Ill be back! Located where Everybodys Pizza was. My wife and I have been eating at this location for years so we had to try the new owners offerings. We had our usual salad followed by a pizza. The Greek style salad was presented with all the ingredients sitting separately on the plate, strange. Dressing was OK but nothing special, greens were fresh enough. The pizza, a thin tasty crust with good toppings and in my opinion better than what Everybodys offered. They have a decent beer offering and I was told they intend to start brewing sometime next year. Lastly the service and the reason for only 3 stars. Inattentive, and slow although friendly. The restaurant wasnt half full so I cant imagine going there when they are busy. At one point the waitress apologized explaining they were "Having a meeting in the back". Earlier that day I read a review on Yelp that contained the same statement. They need to come up with some fresh excuses. When our bill finally arrived there was an "unidentified charge" of $5.99. The waitress told my wife it was a mistake and it was removed but it topped off our bad experience and we left with an attitude. I eat out often and realize occasional bad service comes with the territory and if we went back we could have a totally different experience. Id love to go back when they start brewing but Im afraid my wife wont have any part of it. They really need to get their act together.

Let me start by saying the pizza and beer are great. That said, Ive been here 4 times, and two of those times the service was seriously slow and not attentive. This last time, it took us almost 20 minuted to put in our drink order, which took 40 minutes to arrive. The food took over an hour. It took forever to get water, plates, silverware, and the check, all separately. The wait-staff wasnt rude -- just inattentive. I suspect the problem was not solely with the wait-staff, seeing as *everything* was so seemingly unorganized. In their defense we were a large party with separate checks. But, we got the same level of service once before with a smaller party of 4 on a single check. This is disappointing given that it hasnt been consistently this terrible. If youre going to sit at the bar by yourself or with one other person, I suspect this place will be great. If you have a larger party, skip it. I hope this place gets more consistent with their service, and that they are honest, upfront, about wait times, if theyre due to something unchangeable. The pizza is good, and its a shame I wont be eating there any longer. Edit:. Ive changed my review to 1 star. The wait staff changed the tip for someone in my party, after we left. The management did refund it.

The pizza was alright as was the dry Irish Stout, but it went great with the excellent weather which is why we sat outside on a Saturday night...College game night. Everyone watching the Clemson/FSU (Not Carolina, Georgia, or SEC so I dont care about the ACC) game were inside around the TV, but for some reason they felt the need to have the audio from the game blaring on the outside patio area where no TV was visible. The three other groups of people all had to lean in, like us, at their tables to engage in conversation, so we asked the waitress if she could turn the audio down so we could actually hear the conversation with my wifes grandfather. No one cared about the game nor paid it attention. The waitress went inside and got one of the guys to turn it down. The guy turned it down, but was shaking his head about the request. The volume at this point was appropriate a happy median of being audible and clear while engaging in conversation. A few moments later, the volume was jacked back up. We asked again a short time later, and the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and nonchalantly said, "I dont know what to tell you." Needless to say, a tip reflected the services rendered, and will be trying another pizza joint.

I have heard a lot about Slice & Pint...all good things so I was excited to dine there for lunch with the family. Right away service was friendly. A little show as our server was training someone but that is fine. Everyones got to learn! Kids ordered pizza, wife ordered a salad and I had the Southern BLT. When the food came out everyones liked decent, not great, and mine looked bland. Its a friend green tomato sandwich with bacon and pimento cheese. There should be nothing bland about this. Bread was stale and the breading on the tomatoes was burnt. I could not eat it. Interestingly, neither server brought up the fact my plate was still full of food. Usually thats a sign there is something wrong. Ended up eating some of the kids pizza. Salad was OK as well. Would I return? No, Pizza is nothing to write home about. Mellow Mushroom had better pizza, same with Blue Moon or Fellinis. The beer menu was impressive which might entice me to return with friends for drinks.
