My girl and I decided to make an impromptu afternoon shopping trip to the North Georgia Premium Outlets on July 5th. Because it was later in the day, we started looking into finding a local restaurant; a gem, as we like to call them, so we would not be relegated to eating at one of those all too common suburban cookie cutter eateries. We came across The Blue Bicycle and checked out the reviews which were mostly positive with a few not so lustrous in which people complained about poor service, the lack of a child friendly menu and, of all things, the speed of which bread arrived at the table. Our experience was lovely. I was sure to test the critics by asking for a basket of bread straight away. It arrived very quickly and Chris, our server, was very friendly, courteous and attentive with out being too much so. The food was surprisingly good, and I say surprisingly because most out of the way, small town restaurants that we visit on our travels simply do not serve the quality of food as The Blue Bicycle. As for the lack of a childs menu, there is one available. If it isnt immediately provided, ask for it... I dont need one and, honestly, was glad to not have to worry about the possibility of an unhappy child ruining my meal. The ambiance was a little different to be sure but our time there was very well spent as was our money.

This has been one of the more overrated restaurants I have eaten at in the last few months. If you have all night to get your food, you have come to the right place. The food was actually okay for the main entrees of salmon and sirloin tips but over priced for the portions. The appetizer was highly overrated which we ordered---potato chips and blue cheese sprinkled over it. We had to ask for bread a couple of times before getting any. It is not child friendly if you want to eat there. Although the atmosphere was pleasant , which was nice considering we had to wait 45 min before the main entrees arrived. In addition to that, it was not all that busy for a Thursday night. It should also be mentioned that the manager and waitress almost didnt come by our table until we flagged them down, except for the check ( they were very attentive then for their tip). We tried to cut our losses after that--so I cannot comment on the desserts. Definitely do not waste the time or money--drive a little further for the sake of your sanity!!!!

Been there with the wife and kids a couple times. It is not a place for finicky kids. There is no "kids menu" with deep fried food items. This was a challenge for me and my wife, but at 11 and 13 years old, we thought its time they started looking at the adult menu anyway. The owner is a bit odd/eccentric, but beyond that the wait staff is courteous. This is a place to go if you want a "dining experience". The food is really good and presented well. The wine list is ok with the typical markup. The wait time for the food is very typical for a restaurant of this caliber. While this is not the finest establishment Ive dined at, it is a solid place to have a very nice "dining experience". I will definitely go back again.

Blue Bicycle has been one of our favorite stops on the way from Atlanta to the mountains for years. Kati Owen is a gracious host, and we have never been disappointed, except once when a glass of red wine arrived too cold. My favorite entrée is the hanger steak and fries. I dont know how Guy cooks them, but these are the best french fries I have experienced anywhere in the world — including Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland. For dessert, the chocolate hazelnut mousse never disappoints. Blue Bicycle is a bistro in the true meaning of the term: a small restaurant serving moderately priced, simple, but exquisitely prepared meals in a modest setting. Its not a fast food joint; come, relax, eat, and enjoy.

I just ate at this place because I read the good reviews and ignored the bad ones !!!! I usually do not write any reviews about any restaurants but tonight I will spent a few minutes of my time to discourage you from eating there . The food is ok (nothing special ) , the ambiance is nice but the service is HORRIBLE, the staff is extremely arrogant and looks at you in a strange way when you ask them to do their jobs (like bring bread, more beverages and etc ...) . The staff/manager does not care about their customers and makes you feel that you are lucky just to be sitting there . I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic gem in North Georgia. The ambiance was great, service excellent and the food was outstanding. Wife and I stopped for a drink and some appetizers after some shopping. We had the Gnocchi and mushrooms in brown butter, crab cakes and smoked trout. All three were excellent. But the Gnocchi and mushrooms was out of this world. We ended up soaking up the rest of the brown butter sauce with our bread. Our server told us this was a special but so many people request it so it has remained on the menu for awhile. Maybe they will make it an entree???? You have got to try this place. You will not be disappointed.

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful from the service to the food. The locally cultivated mushroom appetizer was delicious. The fish special was Halibut and it was perfectly cooked with an asian fusion rice and vegetables. The flat iron steak au poivre, a regular on the menu, was also cooked to perfection, from being served med rare as requested and the green beans also not being over done. Also, our waiter, the manager, was excellent.

This is the best restaurant North of Alpharetta... Possibly Roswell. The food is hig-end, delicious and presented beautifully. The menu has several choices that make it hard to decide what to order. Caleb, the mixologist, is crazy good. He could easily work at any upscale bar in Atlanta. If you want an excellent meal for a celebration or classy night out, the closest competition is probably 30 miles away.

The food was very good ...we went there for a friends birthday.. one of our friends had made her a birthday cake/the hostess saw this and came to the table, asked what it was and said that if we cut the cake and eat it there,we would be charged 3.50 a plate.......or per person......REALLY!!!!! thats our last time there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...the food was good, not amazing, but good. The atmosphere was wanting, but its in a commercial office building with car accessories for sale next door - so decide for yourself. For $30 per person I simply expect more. Drive 25 minutes to Alpharetta and your dollar goes way further. Again, food was good, but not for the money.

We decided to try the blue bicycle as we were passing through town on a road trip. We usually try to find resturants that are not chains or fast food. I am so glad we stopped here. The staff is wonderful, the food was amazing! (especially the hazelnut mousse) and the environment is very cozy and quiet. we will definitely be back!

Crunchy spaetzle- Super-watery mussel broth with 50% of the mussels not cooked enough to open- Tough, chewy, salty veal Crab cake full of breadcrumbs We didnt finish anything we ordered. Very disappointing food execution for what could have been a really nice experience. Service was friendly.
