On a whim, my family decided to drive to Dahlonega after spending a couple of days in Ellijay. We stopped for gas and one of my children was "starving", so I figured Id get a quick bite for her and get something "better" down the road. When I walked in, I saw all the awards in the store and thought, "hmm...maybe I should get more than just one sandwich." I ordered a pound and a half of the pulled pork and gathered up a variety of sauces to go along with some buns. I figured wed have a quick picnic and find something "better" down the road a little later. Oh, my word, this is THE best BBQ Ive ever had!! The White Lightning sauce was divine. The mild was delicious. The spicy was fantastic. The mustard based was so good (Goldfinger?)..but the White Lightning...oh, my! It was the perfect blend of creamy and spicy. And the pork itself felt like it melted in my mouth. My whole family agreed = best BBQ pork weve EVER had! My husbands family has lived in GA for several generations, and I hail from an old SC family. We grew up eating BBQ and thought wed eaten enough pulled pork over the years to distinguish the good, the bad, and the alright. Finally, we experience the divine! WILL be back! Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

On two different occasions I have walked in and asked if they Ribs available and was advised yes they did by the wait staff, ordered and paid, then each time the cook comes out from the back and stated that they were all out. Which I understand happens from time to time, but each time I was unable to get my money back, because the wait staff "did not know how to void a transaction for refund" and was forced to receive a product that i did not want or ask for, it felt an awful like a bait and switch scam. Very unsatisfied with the service.

This place is super tasty, and they have the awards all over the restaurant to prove it! I had the smoked pulled chicken, it was delicious without the sauce, the sauce made it better! Mac and cheese and okra good ,as well as baked potatoes. My husband had the half slab and loved it! Will come back the next time we are around!

We pulled up to the restaurant and almost backed out since it shares the building with a gas station. So unbelievably glad we didnt leave. We knew it was going to be amazing when we saw all the medals and trophies on the wall. Get the sliced brisket and try the spicy bbq sauce.

Food is great, the young lady who performs the duties of a hostess, waitress, server and cashier with no help in sight. She does it all with a smile during a lunch crowd of 40 plus people. GET SOME HELP FOR THE LUNCH HOURS!

We had Hickory Prime BBQ cater our event. The food was extraordinarily good. The burnt end brisket was done especially well. The potato salad was also delicious. Looking forward to the next time I get to eat their food.

Terrible! Awful! Disappointing! Food was awful. There were flies everywhere. Service, if that is what you call it, was horrible! If they were handing out free food, I wouldnt even entertain the thought of eating there!

This is a gem of a barbecue joint! The brisket is delicious and the pulled pork literally melts in your mouth. Id compare it to The Salt Lick outside of Austin, Texas. Ill drive the hour from Atlanta just to eat here.
