We stopped by for breakfast this morning and probably wont be going back. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks (one orange juice and two large iced coffees). The food took over 30 minutes to come out, for a to-go order. When we got home to eat, we noticed quite a few problems. No syrup with the pancakes, which were super dense... Not at all light and fluffy like you would expect. No salt on anything, including my sons French fries. The "scrambled" (basically cooked on a flattop then cut up before being put in the box, definitely not actually scrambled) eggs were bland and very greasy, not at all fluffy, just flat and hard. My fiancé ordered a breakfast burrito, and he says everything inside of it was bland, slimy, and greasy. It was supposed to have hash browns in it and there were literally 4 strings of potato, the sausage was decent enough, but considering he asked for bacon, there shouldnt have even been sausage in it. The wrap was hard and breaking apart. All in all, we are definitely not pleased with the food, but the portion size was large and the staff was pretty friendly. If we do decide to go back and try it again, we definitely wont be getting any breakfast items.

To say this cafe has poor service is an understatement! Our waiter barely spoke to us as we ordered, we asked a few questions that were answered with a nod. We placed 2 orders, the first, an omelette with hash browns and toast, and the second, egg whites on an English muffin with hasbrowns. Easy right? Something you feel as though you could accomplish in your own kitchen. Not the case here. The first order came out 30 minutes after we placed the order and the second order (the simpler one) came out 5-6 minutes later. Luckily for me, my girlfriend has manners and waited for my food to come. Unfortunately, her food was cold by the time my food came out. There was absolutely no apology for the difference in timing and as we looked around at other tables this was a common occurrence. Our waiter never came to the table to ask how our food tasted, or to refill our empty water glasses. The worst part about their horrific service was there were 3 waiters and only 5 tables total. Unfortunately this restaurant is close to my house but we will never be returning. The service was a serious disappointment and definitely the worst I have ever experienced.

Walked into Cafe Noir at 12:15, ordered a wrap, eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast and a half side of biscuits w/ gravy. Received our food at 1:30, almost walked out a couple times, but the server kept saying it was worth the wait, which was not the case. 1 hour and 15 minutes for breakfast and a wrap? I could have put my 12 year old in the kitchen and got it in less than 20 minutes, Ive worked in several restaurants over the years and all of them had a goal of breakfast to the table in 7 minutes and lunch in 10 minutes. Another note, only 12 tables on the side of the room they were using, 2 servers, 2 cooks and a bus person. I dont get it, I could have taken the orders, cooked them, served the meals and bused the tables in the time it took to get our food. I understand that the owner is also the cook and has her own way of doing things, but keep that up at she will only be cooking for herself. We were looking forward to a great meal, but left very disappointed. Would have left a negative star review if it would have let me. Mark M, Winter Park FL.

There are a few pros and cons here. The good about this place is its a small business that cares about its customers. They are very personable and tend to your needs. The food tastes great. The cons are the speed of service, in that it took over 20 minutes from time ordered to get my sandwich. The place had one other customer at the time. So the cook takes their time making your order, so may avoid when having a quick lunch. The other is the portion size. The prices seem low but that is because you only get a small(childs) size sandwich. So the price here is kind of high in respect for how much you pay, expect to spend $10-$15 if you want an appetizing lunch. remember though food does taste good. That would be my review for owners, I will return in future and see if there are any improvements and my visit wasnt a one off.

Daily Express Deli & Grill is now under new ownership of the chef/owner Maggie Lazarre. Maggie renamed the establishment, Cafe Noir! The service is warm and friendly and the food is awesome. Try the awesome espresso beverages like their Iced Lattes. I had some of the best French toast, ever. The food melted in my mouth. Everyone is smiling and there is great integrity in this little cafe/ restaurant.

Small intimate atmosphere friendly staff... super healthy good stuff... go to dennys if you want loaded crap that gets shipped in. They go pick up ingredients themselves, in their cars... LA fitness members get 5%off smoothies and they have a pretty awesome 4.99 breakfast special
