As soon as I walked in I was asked multiple times if I wanted to sit in the restaurant part or the cafe side, and multiple times I politely said no. When it was my turn to put in my order everyone seemed to disappear into the back and I had to wait a good 5min before someone took my order. I paid for my food and was told to have a seat because my food would be brought out to me. 20min later I hear my name called out and the lady with half of my order behind the register handing it to me. She said that the other half was coming out shortly that she would bring it out to me.I ordered a Media Noche (Midnight Sandwich) and it was very mediocre. The meat tasted old and the bread was covered in grease. I had to grab multiple napkins and try to soak some of it off. Another 7min later my name was called and this other girl gave my food to another gentleman. The original lady who took my order realized the mistake and told the girl that it wasnt his so the girl took the food away from the man and walked over to my table with the same exact plate. These people do not know how to run a restaurant/cafe. The fact that they have more than 2 stars in the reviews are absolutely shocking.

My fiancee had a hankering for some Latin Cuisine, and he found this quaint little place through Google. Its a unique little place, with one side set up cafeteria style....loaded with all kinds of goodness to choose from. The other side is sit-down service dining, which has more menu options. We chose the cafeteria side on this visit. Our platters consisted of our choice of rice (white, yellow, or black beans and rice), an entree and two sides. I chose the Ropa Vieja, with beans and rice, veggies and sweet plaintains. My fiancée got the roast chicken with the same sides. The meat was cooked perfectly...fork tender, as it should be, and loaded with delicious flavor. The portions are more than enough. The staff here is extremely friendly and will answer any questions with a smile...they know how to win at customer service. ☺ The atmosphere is laid back, and the restaurant itself is very clean. OH....and the pastry case is INSANE! I havent tried any of them yet, but they look wonderful! I will be recommending this place to anybody that will listen, and look forward to making this one of our regular dining spots.

I stumble upon Havana today and decided to take some food home for dinner. Its a tiny buffet where you choose a type of rice, one meat and 2 sides. The proportions dont make sense, in the box I was taking to go, the lady put in the largest part 4 or 5 spoons of the rice I chose, and in the tiny part about 2 small pieces of the meat from the beef stew and 1 small half of a half of a potato, I asked for one of the sides, the beans, to come in a different small container, they did so, but when I got home I realize they didnt put it in my bag. Also, I got some steamed yuca, the employee offered me a sauce for it, I accepted it, but they also failed to put it in my bag. The food was great, delicious rice, chicken and delicious beef. Yuca had no taste, the tamale was delicious. Got 2 deserts, both BAD. One bread flan and one cake the guy reccomened, threw them both out. I would return again for the food and I would really pay attention when they bag my food! All this food I got for 16 bucks, it was 2 to go boxes, 1 extra side, 2 desserts and 1 drink. Pretty cheap.

The Cuban sandwich was good, not great, but the service was very disappointing. My wife wanted to try the paella, but the woman that took our order said that was alla carte, which we had been directed away from when I ordered the Cuban. She did not seem to want to get it from the display for her so she got the Cuban as well. We werent given our drinks when we ordered or when our sandwiches came out so we had to return to the counter for them. The plantains she ordered did not come out either, had to return to the counter again for them and the man behind the counter argued that we had ordered fries. I think some of the confusion came from the odd way they take orders, but since it was 3 pm and there were about 5 tables Im not sure what the issue with getting our order was. Very disappointing experience from a restaurant with 4.7 stars at the time of this review. Also the mens room did not have soap in it. Had to use womens.

The shredded beef is to die for; mouth watering and NOT dried out. The cubano sandwich was great but needed a little more mustard (opinion and super easy fix). If you are looking for something different to drink try their "Natural Juice" aka Morir Sonando. It is similar to an Orange Julius but so much tastier. One of the best dessert selections I have ever seen. Plenty of cakes and bakery type items that are hard to find elsewhere. The triple chocolate cake has an amazing chocolate topping and is just perfect. Not too sweet either, and a really cute edible spoon to top it off. The Tres Leches was excellent as well; very flavorful and nothing less then what I expected. Tres Leches is a perfect after meal treat. Large enough to share or indulge in yourself. Staff is super helpful and friendly! Ill be back!

On vacation this pass week we went to the Florida mall in Orlando when I saw the Havana Bistro from across the street and I knew I wanted to eat there. Not knowing what the place was like I still decided to stop there for dinner.. I had my son go and check to see what the prices were like when he returns to the car to let me know that for 7.25 you get dinner with a drink... That was a winner for the Rojas family being that we were vacationing on a budget... For that price I thought the place was going to lack appearances, service or taste.. But I was far from it. This place has the looks the service and the taste; I would definitely come back to the Havana Bistro for dinner when I am in the area... Havana Bistro keep up the good work it will pay off!!!

Ok...when in Florida one must seek out Cuban food. In Orlando, I wasnt sure how lucky we would get. Havana Bistro is incredible. The staff is beyond friendly and patient. We were advised on the menu as was the table behind us. We started with the beef empanadas and they were stellar..the beef was tender, moist and the seasoning perfect with a crisp and chewy pastry puff. The recommended Beef Rojas was lean, tender and super flavorful with chunks of Spanish olives...what a great choice. The Cubano Sandwich was yummy too. My daughter ate 3 servings of the Cuban rice and beans. Id be back weekly if I lived in Orlando. I will make sure to return when I visit.
