I wish I could give this place a higher rating. We tried this restaurant after seeing the 4.5 star review on Google. The restaurant was clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food however, was not the best. We tried the pulled pork sandwich and the meat was dry and looked like it had been sitting in the warmer for a while. The macaroni and cheese was not that cheesy. The creamed corn did not seem like a cohesive dish. The corn seemed undercooked for what I would expect from a creamed corn and the "cream" part was less creamy and more chunky. The barbecue sauces were ok. If it werent for the friendly staff and clean restaurant, this review would be 2 stars. There are better options for barbecue in south tampa.

Love the Brisket. You can always tell a good BBQ place by their Brisket. Frankly, pulled pork is easy, and ribs arent too hard. But Brisket is a true challenge to cook. The Brisket here is great. The side dishes are pretty good, I personally wasnt a fan of the Mac n Cheese. The cheese curdled and it was not all that creamy. That being said I can be picky when it comes to Mac n Cheese. All the other sides were good. Regarding the sauces they all had a good flavor, but they werent like a true BBQ sauce. It was somewhat runny and syrupy. However, the Brisket itself was amazing even without sauce.

Absolutely awesome BBQ. Clean and casual restaurant with a crisp design. Counter service with ample seating and high chairs available. They remind me of a place called "Piggys" I frequented in Tallahassee. Would definitely recommend, and I cant wait to go back and try more. For once I was into the food so much I forgot to take a picture. The Mac n cheese, brisket, baked beans, slaw and pulled pork were on point (shared with husband). The green beans werent my favorite, but it might have just been too much bacon. **Not just a food truck**

Love their BBQ! All the food is delicious! Placed an order in advance for fathers day and when I arrived for pick up I was informed that the smoker experienced issues due to a storm the night before and my ribs werent ready. Not having enough time to wait due to guests arriving I was worried I would have to regroup and find a new way to feed everyone. Smoke Shack didnt let me down and without hesitation loaded me up with brisket, pork and delicious sides on the house. I left happy and so did my dinner guests!

Definitely my favorite Smoked BBQ joint in Tampa Bay! Everything is so tasty and homemade sides, rubs and sauces too! I like it does *not* taste like every place else, UNIQUE flavors like their truffle Mac with homemade breadcrumbs too! Brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage all so Good! Carolina is my favorite BBQ sauce but only on the fries or potato salad...meats so good by itself! Staff is friendly and helpful, and the place is super clean and plays great tuned! You gotta try it!

The Smoke Shack catered my daughters wedding reception for 100 people. The staff was friendly and professional. We had plenty of delicious food for everyone. They sliced and served the smoke saugage as an appetizer. We served the pulled pork, beef brisket, truffle mac N cheese, cole slaw, baked beans and BBQ sauces. All the guest loved the food, it was all delicious. It was a great change, to the typical over cooked banquet food usually served at wedding receptions.

First time visitor. This BBQ blows the doors off every other place in town. Four Rivers, fold up your tents. You can’t touch their chicken, pulled pork or their brisket. Sides are phenomenal. We got 2 triple meat platters, on Big Ben’s recommendation, so we could try everything. Brilliant. Paired it all with an icy Coppertail. Stop what you’re doing and head to The Shack on Gandy. You may not see God but you will probably see Big Ben, so you’ll be in good hands.

Visited Smoke Shack in their new home and somehow its better than ever! The brisket is still legendary, all the sauces we love are plentiful and the addition of fries and smoked chicken makes for a euphoric experience for my taste buds. Beer/wine is coming soon (Im assured by the owner), which will propel this place into the stratosphere. Watch out BBQ joints of S. Tampa, Smoke Shack has emerged from its caccoon in its full glory!

Went late in the afternoon before dinner time and was a little worried that the food would taste like it had been sitting all day but everything was delicious! The store was neat and clean and well-decorated. The staff was nice and helpful. The menu wasnt anything crazy, mostly just the BBQ standards but they do have a few beers (including local craft) and some cool specials. Im going back for sure!

Without a doubt, the best BBQ in the Southeast. Just incredible! Ive lived and eaten BBQ throughout Alabama, Georgia, and NC. Nothing even comes close to "The Smoke Shack". If you are visiting the Tampa area or a current resident do yourself a favor and stop by for a sandwich. I know this place will be on the Food Network before you know it. Sincerely, Sheff

I have been coming to the Smoke Shack since they opened. The guys are very personable and have a passion for this business. Im so happy for them that they have a new location on Gandy. The food is amazing, you cant beat the pulled pork sandwich with the Carolina sauce. The truffle mac and cheese is a must have. If youre in the area its a must go to.

The Smoke Shack is the BEST BBQ spot in Tampa! If you havent tried their pulled pork with house-made Carolina sauce then you are missing out. The goodness doesnt stop there. Try the truffle Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans for your sides and make the perfect platter! The owners are friendly and genuinely care about their guests. Try this place out today!!

Missing salt on the food. Corn is not really creammed (as advertised). Brisket is chopped, not my style. Pulled pork is dry and doesnt have flavor if you dont use sauce. Sauces are actually good. Bacon over the green beans, cool. Collards are good. Brunswick stew is really good. Ill support them because theyre local but not my favorite place.

Decided to try the Smoke shack for lunch today. I recommend they rename the joint to The shack because there was zero smoke. My friend and I were completely unsatisfied with the flavor. Taste like it was cooked in the oven. Completely bland and smokeless. P.S. What you did to this brisket and pork is a crime in some parts of the country.

The service was great and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and has a laid back atmosphere. I ordered the half rack of ribs with the Mac n cheese and green beans. The ribs were FANTASTIC! However the Mac n cheese was watery and the green beans were flavorless. For a BBQ place the sauces werent very good either.

I am from Oklahoma, so I am hesitant to recommend any BBQ place in the area, but this place is REALLY good. All the BBQ tasty and you cant go wrong with the ribs, brisket, or pulled pork. The truffle mac and cheese is the jam. I also really like their baked beans. Go eat there. **This is definitely 5 stars for Tampa BBQ.
