Tonight I had a dinner party for my Husband and our family. We had the private room at Sakana. I was so skeptical about my family and the menu but there was something for everyone. As for the little picky Italian grandfather of mine who I love and adore, they made him what he wanted the way he liked it and I thought that was awesome. It truely was a success!!! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the service was sensational. We had a party of 20 which included children, I was so worried about everything going well and all for nothing. They made everything perfect. The food was amazing and presented in such a upscale and delectable way. I recommend Sakanas to all who enjoy great dinning and exceptional, friendly service!!!! Stumbled upon Sakana remotely by accident. It was lent, and I was trying to avoid meat, so I pulled up Google Local on my phone, and tried to find something in the nearby area. Lo and behold and I see Sakana, and it has quite good reviews. I had a simple meal of eel rolls and some (presumably) Japanese beer I had never had before. Beer was excellent, sushi was excellent, the prices were extremely reasonable. I brought my mother and grandmother along, they shared a miso soup, shrimp stir fry, and some intricate appetizer that had mango, what I believe to be tuna, scallops, and some other things on a pita chip. They also thoroughly enjoyed their food. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be dining there again in the future.

First, the bad news. The drinks, which sounded *amazing* werent nearly as delicious as they sounded. That said, they were strong as could be! (Which is, lets be honest, the next best thing!) Everything else about this restaurant is STELLAR! Service is superb! Ive eaten here a few times, and my 10-year vegetarian gf, and my 30-year vegan self found plenty of amazing, authentic (Ive been to Japan many times,) food to satisfy us both. Granted, we ordered several dishes from the appetizer menu that would be entrees, elsewhere, but no matter. We left, stuffed and grinning, wondering where all that food went! It all works out to an amazing evening of gustatory delights! Check it out!

While the sushi here is phenomenal, the speed of service is sometimes lacking. I think we waited almost a half an hour when we were one of 4 parties (of two) in the store. The rest of the business was in take out and they seemed to have priority. Its just opinion but if Im taking time to sit in your business and will likely be leaving a tip as opposed to the take out customer, I do think that the priority should be on the in store. However as I have had take out from here several times, they sushi is always great, in or out. Its stupendous. I highly recommend this place, just dont dine in on lunch.

I was hesitant about posting about Sakana because I dont want the place more crowded than it already is Ive been to Water, and Yokos, two South Tampa staples, but the best Sushi in Tampa has to be from Sakana. They have great cold infused Sake, and the sushi is so fresh. I had the Chirashi bowl last night and the white fish was like butter. Nice vibe set with the music playing. Service can be a little slow, but for a weekend evening, its a great place to grab food and hang with friends.

My colleague and I met up for dinner one night here and the experience was extremely mediocre. The food was overpriced, the drinks were poor, and the service was average. The reason I am leaving such a bad review is because my friend and I both developed a case of bad food poisoning after eating here. We were in completely different areas for the rest of the day and the only similar meal we shared was at this establishment. Be warned about eating here!

Shouldve left when I walked in. Not a big fan of the clientele of Xtreme gym and the like and felt like Id walked into their workout after party. The sushi chef was loud and talked incessantly about crap. The sushi itself was questionable and chock full of imitation crabmeat. Waste of money.

My experience here as always been stellar! Sushi is great quality and the Thai food is amazing! Never a bad order from here. I either dine in or do take-away and by the time I am done, I am looking forward to my next time here! Keep up the great work! I love their Monday sushi deals as well!

Food was excellent. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable. First time I have been there. Had very poor service, took about an hour to get the sushi and the place was not busy. They also made an error on our bill, which took about 20 minutes to resolve.

Great atmosphere and good food. Service can be a bit inconsistent. This is a social place and the employees seem to be having fun but sometimes at the expense of customer service. Ive had to track down a waitress in the past and this is small place.

Had sushi there tonight at the sushi bar. Torched roll was black not browned and shoji roll fish tasted rotten. Also, the sushi chef wasnt overly friendly. Used to be our favorite sushi joint but sadly the last few visits will probably be our last.

Went there for the first time, and was amazed at the quality of the sushi and variety! Atmosphere was great, food was awesome-Best Sushi I have had, and the service was great!! Will definitely go again, this place is a hidden treasure :)
