The first two times were great experiences with good food and service. This time, we encountered a not so friendly manager, Kyle. A reservation was made far in advance for 7 persons, then changed closer to the date to 9. When we arrived on September 15th, hostess said, "9 people, you will have to sit outside". This is Florida and in the summer. Yes, they have fans, but you cannot fan off humidity. She suggested that when a high top emptied, she could move it next to the other empty high tops to accommodate all of us. In steps KYLE, the manager, apparently. Just not in the business of customer care at all. "We cannot move the high top as it is fire hazard. You dont seem happy. We only have outside." My point: clearly training personnel who make reservations to inform caller than any party greater than 6 must sit outside is a very simple fix. Also tell hostesses what is and is not allowed in restaurant (i.e. moving tables). The whole Kyle experience made the evening a bit strained for us. We ended up having to sit at a booth and a high top. By the way, at least a $400, probably more, night for 9 people. He was ready to turn us away from what was a slow early evening. Our server, Anthony was great and so was food, but because of Kyle and his poor customer service (no apology or sincerity) we will NOT be back.

Miguelitos is a cousin to the larger Miguels Mexican restaurant, both on Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa. It is going for a more trendy appeal as a Taco and Tequila bar. Its a mixed place aesthetically. Inside is dark and cushy, with purple lights and big booths, looking more like a hip lounge. The interior bar area with room for 8 stools, is even darker and has 6 flat screen TVs. The outside dining area and bar is more patio-esque, with a retractable awning, nice natural light, large screen TVs, and a lighted marble bar. I tried the Blackened Shrimp Taco salad for lunch- $8.99. Id give it a 4 out of 5. The shrimp, nicely spiced with the blackened seasoning, were small but there are a lot of them. The accompanying Queso dressing was bland- possibly prepackaged. The most outstanding part of the dish was the Mexican street corn. Its corn off the cob mixed with mayo, pepper, slight cilantro, and enough chili to influence but not overwhelm. Sitting outdoors, even in the summer, was pleasant with the fans and "Porta Cool" going full blast. Service was fast and friendly, and prices pretty good given its location and volume of the dish. Id go back

This place is phenomenal! Ive been to Miguels once and it was good but Miguelitos has stepped it up. Great date place if youre taking a girl out! They have small plates compared to Miguels. Its a little more pricey for some things but DEFINETLY worth it. Ill post a picture on Google but I recommend getting two different types of tacos (because theyre like 5 bucks ha!) and the jalapeño bacon wrapped lobster tails were like nothing else. I dont even really like "spicy food" but the heat wasnt bad, it was very flavorful. Then we got the avocado stuffed with crab which was very refreshing and a cold appetizer. Staff was very friendly and we sat outside and didnt have a problem being hot since they had shade and fans going I believe (which my boyfriend gets hot just thinking about it) Definetly a great place to go and would recommend as a must try for Tampa

Tacos were just average. Even going out of the box with the lobster and the pork belly didnt impress me and its hard to mess those up. Have to say that if youre going to charge $5-$8 for a taco, you should probably season it a little better. Guac was really good and they gave us a half-ton--the platter they serve it on is cool, although they used minced garlic which was a weird choice--that could be me being a weirdo. Their tequila selection and drinks were great (we got the screamer, has a pepper in it) and I bet itd be a great place to grab a drink, just not a good place for tacos. Edit from the second go around: the bowls were much better than the tacos and our margaritas were good. Still disappointed by the tacos but was a much better experience this time. Server was great and attentive, I appreciate that!

The food has good taste. It is kind of like eating an appetizer for the price of a meal. If you order tacos, they give you one taco in a small plate. Tasted good but Id rather go to a place where they can give you a bit more food. The kids were still hungry so they ordered brownie and that came in a bigger plate than the actual main entree. The place is very small. Although they do have a patio that is nice but also not well lit. To the point that they overcharged me. I could not see what I was signing when the bill came. This is more like a bar or a place to have drinks and a small bite. I would not recommend this place for a family or if you are really hungry.

More of a bar atmosphere and tastefully decorated with a hip, southwestern vibe. Food was ok. Ordered the pork belly tapas and carnitas tacos along with a trio of sauces (avocado, queso and salsa) and chips. Also ordered side orders of Pico de Gallo and street corn (roasted corn mixed with chopped onions and bacon pieces). I was expecting the food to wow me and it really didnt. If you have read the other reviews about Migeulitos drinks, the alcoholic beverages are lightly poured! This is disappointing especially ordering a premium upgraded margarita with Patron Silver. Im not a heavy drinker and I didnt even feel much of anything.

We tried this place for lunch because we thought it was going to be similar to Miguels (which is down the street from this place). Often Miguels will send you to this restaurant if they are too full. We arrive and the place is very nice. We did not like that you had to pay for chips and salsa. Most (if not all) mexican places offer complementary chips and salsa. We ordered some and when it arrived the salsa was warm. It tasted like tomato soup. It was strange and did not go over well in our group. The food was good but very small portions. We will probably not go back. We will continue to Miguels right down the street.

I had my 34th birthday dinner party here and tell experience was absolutely amazing!!! From the moment I walked in the staff was so friendly and helpful. The manager was so accommodating to an overflow of unexpected party attendees! When extra tables and chairs were needed he was sure to assist and most of the time it was without me having to ask. The atmosphere is perfect for a chilled and relaxed event. Id most definitely recommend Miguelitos to anyone looking to host a party! Such a wonderful experience!!!

Excellent food and portions. Modern take, cantina style Mexican food. Salsa was homemade and served warm- very good. Tapas menu is great as you dont feel you are overeating or overpaying. Lobster tapas (langosta brochettes) was delicious. Fajita tapas was enough to feel full but not overeat like a large portion of fajitas. Lunch menu is inexpensive and good happy hour. Outdoor seating is nice and lots of TVs on the inside. Definitely will be going back and am interested in trying brunch!
