We came here after my son 4yr old had been in the water part of the park.. But his shoes were not on they were still by the water area.. We came in quickly to get ice cream and go back. We were the only ones in line nd a family was getting icecream in front of us. They had about 7 orders and they were tasting the icecreams. We were standing in line for almost 8-10 min.. My son was dripping a little water on their floor but as soon as they noticed, the fam that was in front of us was already paying. The guy was asking me to take my son out of the store bc he was dipping water.. So I asked the server if he could jus let me order 2 cups we already knew what we wanted. We were the very next in line after standing for so long with an excited lil guy waiting for ice cream. Nd by then the line was backed up. He literly said u cant have him in this store dripping water. So Im asking him u want me to get out of the line when Im next bc hes dripping a little water. Or u want me to tell my son he needs to sit outside until i place my little 2 orders.! Then he called his manager the guy was literly serving me the first cup of choco icecream wen the manager came (because I didnt get out of the line I started to order when the server went and got the manager) and then he asked me to take my son out the store.! Im pointing at my cup being served and he repeated himself. By this time were on top of a big carpet no longer dripping on the floor. To make sure we did get icecream they offered to have me and my son wait outside for the ice cream. I said this is ridiculous and walked the hell out! W my crying 4 yr old! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Will never go there again. They are bound to have wet people in there if they are 10-15 feet from the water area! U have a wannabe restaurant and an ice cream station less then 10feet away from each other in a little eat-in area.! Never again will I go there. -angrymom!

Is it legal to refuse me service from your indoor take out counter because I refused to tell you my name? You better ask your lawyer, because thats what just happened at 7pm, Sunday night, April 23, 2017. I told you I didnt believe you needed to know my name to sell me your delicious food, and that I would just wait for my order and Id "be right here" when it was ready. Both the waitress and the owner said "no name, no food". I was the only person waiting inside and you werent asking names from your other customers who were seated outside. In this day and age where we all need to have such privacy paranoia, why did you need to know my name? And why did you refuse service to a loving customer based on such an irrational criteria? Just to remind you, I was the senior citizen, gray haired little veteran guy in shorts and a navy blue tee shirt, with my glasses balanced on the end of my nose, who once defended your right not be discriminated against anywhere in the free world. Check your video camera to see what happened and dont even think about erasing that segment. Any helpful lawyers out there?

Im a Bostonian, so my expectations were high especially as it concerns a restaurant boasting a taste of my home town. The adage close but no cigar comes to mind. The food and or dining experience (in my opinion) wasnt horrible, however, if youre going to name your establishment after Boston the menu items should reflect what locals would come to expect. Taste of Boston in this regard is somewhat misleading because it is typical of Tampa Bays average seafood joints. Neverthwless, I think the location is probably the best part of the dining experience. The restaurant is situated at the entrance to a fishing pier and is surrounded by camera worthy scenery. My wife and I are fans of the fried clams, we visit often when were in the mood for decent inexpensive seafood and outdoor dining. I would be remiss for not having recommended their Fishermans platter and Hog fish. They also serve ice cream an important refreshment for TPAs sweltering heat. I like Taste of Boston, maybe you will too.

I have not eaten at this spot in several years due to incredibly slow service then. Decided to give them another try and service was openly hostile to enjoyable dining. The long and short of it is that I had ordered, due to having a seat and not being recognized, at the "take out " window. When my food arrived to where I had indicated that I was sitting, the server informed me I could not eat here and that I needed to go. Note: half the tables were empty. I had the server get the manager who interrogated me if I used the words take out. I never did and reluctantly they threw the food on a tray. As to the food, my first choice was out and the second choice, catfish, was of a poor quality fillet and slim in terms of serving size. The sweet potato fries were limp and the cole slaw not at all fresh. Ballast point is a delightful South Tampa location, but if you want to enjoy a meal plan a picnic.

Every time I go I tell myself I should try something new but I always end up getting the fried shrimp and clam strip basket. The clam strips are the absolute best Ive ever tasted! No other place can even compare. The shrimp are a decent size and arent covered in thick greasy batter like other places. Gator bites are also very tasty and come with a great remoulade sauce for dipping. My fiancé loves to get fried grouper sandwiches and always says none are as good as Taste of Boston. The prices are great for the amount of food they give you. Food always comes out fast as well. Then when youre done you can walk it all off down the pier or around the park. Love this place!!!

The customer service is extraordinary. The manager greeted me at my car, how nice!. There were no pleasantries just a very firm rude attitude when he asked if this was me (referring to my car). I said yes, that is my car. He then proceeded to ask if I was going to eat at the restaurant. I said yes, but I wanted to walk around the park first. He said, no you need to eat and leave and that he has a business to run. I was extremely baffled, I had to eat and leave. I will not be returning to this establishment. Word of advice for management, dont treat guest and staff poorly.

They are now under new ownership and everything I have eaten there which is quite often was great. They remodeled so it a clean, pleasant small restaurant. I have never gotten poor service and I have eaten there regularly. Now they serve breakfast on the weekends again. The owners are always willing to do whatever makes the customer happy. Any other opinion about this restaurant is probably a one time occurrence or a personal issue. The main attraction to me is the water front dining on Tampa Bay...its quiet and family oriented.
