First time ordering and the service was phenomenal. As I waited I observed how the extremely amicable lady behind the counter interacted with patrons both in person and on the phone; I was amazed at how she knew many by name, remembered their past likes and even asked about family, haircuts, etc. She recapped my whole order by memory without writing it, best experience/service Ive had or seen in a long time. Now to the food, phenomenal. The containers were overfilled with food, not even closed but rather food held in place by upward extended flaps and sealed by a clear plastic bag. Even though its a bit of a drive for me, I just became a regular.

First of all, the "annoying old lady" is an absolute sweetheart. Shes a very witty, energetic grandmother type. I could see that itd be a bit much if youre a grouch, but thats not her fault. Second, maybe you shouldnt eat take-out if you have a propensity to digestion issues? Food was good, portions were amazing. Wait was very short. (I ordered in-store and waited for it to take home). I was honestly hoping for something slightly more authentic considering the hole-in-the-wall nature of the place, but alas, its a pretty standard take-out place in terms of the actual food.

The service was so outstanding that I had to post a review! Pretty much a regular place, meaning that, I will be surprised if you dont bump into a regular customer when you visit. Not only does the young lady know people by first name, but her smile can warm even the toughest grouch. FOOD WAS PERFECT. I ordered the House Lo Mein, small. She kindly stuffed the container to the point that she had to put the container in a plastic bag, because the top could not close. love , love, love my experience at Jan Mei.

I have a lot of allergies and this is one of the few places I can pick up food from. The "enegertic old lady" is super nice and really helped accommodate me despite my numerous allergies. Every time I go there its a pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend this place if your picking up some food on a Friday night; however, the only downside is that its closed on Mondays. Other than that its a fun and friendly place. Its one of my personal favorites!!!!!

Best Chinese food in Broward. We dont live in the area anymore but always go out of our way to stop by whenever we are in town. My husband loves their lo mein and my favorite is the orange chicken but we have never been disappointed no matter what we have ordered. Their customer service is A+ too! 10/10 would recommend.

This is my favorite place to order Chinese food! Customer service is always the very BEST!!!! With Jan who answers the phone most the time, she always puts a smile on my face. :) Highly recommend this place! OH, not to mention... the food is great, quality over all... GREAT!

Previous reviews deceiving: Decided to order based on excellent reviews however the food is literally the worst Chinese food Ive ever ate... The food tasted like it was cooked 3 days ago and was refried 5 min befor picking it up.. Not edible had to throw out, waste of money

Winnie is great, hubby great also. This takeout restaurant is the best in South Florida. I wish they had a sit down operation. Winnie goes out of her way to make every customer a friend. My wife and I found JAN-MEI in 2008, we have had delivered or picked up since then.

Food isnt good, its great. As with most good things, you have to wait. The wait for food can be serious however, once you get the food you forget all about the wait! And Whinney up front is amazing. Shes funny and entertaining. It isnt just dinner, its an experience.

Been a customer since they opened. Winnies kitchen does the best orange chicken ever. Winnie remembers what we order and how we like our fried rice. Shes amazing. Dont listen to any lousy reviews they are just haters. Ive not once had anything but fantastic meals

Usually you know if you get terrible service that must mean the food is great, but the lady was SUPER FRIENDLY and VERY hospitable so my thought was, man I guess the food here must not be that great. Boy was I wrong! Everything tasted excellent!

The decor is getting a bit shabby, but its a "takeout" place. So you you wont wait long. The price is a little more than most but the quality is very good indeed. This is my favorite Chinese food anywhere in South Florida! And Winnie is wonderful.
