Some pretty damn good sammitches for a pretty damn good price, lemme tell ya! And I used to work in the food service industry in a school cafeteria in Mombasa. Imagine all the cooks carrying machetes around the kitchen -- not for defense, but just for the hell of it. "What does this have to do with South-a-Philly" you ask? Technically, nothing. The folks running this joint are top-notch peoples and they dont try to scare the s___ out of you by carrying machetes... which thoughtful of them, wouldnt you say? So go there and enjoy a sammy and tell them Kalika Muhammad El-Shabazz sent you, mkay?

My wife and I went here and the food wasnt bad its just the guy behind the counter was less than enthused we were there. He wasnt exactly rude, but you could just tell he didnt care. For a vacation town youd think they would have better customer service. I get the feeling that they take for granted that people will eat there because of the location and they dont have to have good customer service. For this reason I would not be upset or surprised if they went out of business. It would probably serve them right.

Ive been here twice because I know everybody has a bad day. But both times the staff acts like they could care less. The food lacks flavor. The cheese steak sandwich I got was dry and needed lots of salt both times. To me its one of those places that doesnt need to be good because they know just by where its at theyll always have the tourists. Id skip it, and walk a block to Harrys or just about any other place but here.

This was my first time. From the time we entered until leaving, we were never greeted or acknowledged. He cleaned and walked past my mother and I and never said a word. So of course we werent going to spend our $$ at an establishment that doesnt want us there. Prior to us entering there was a couple in there and the staff had no problem with talking and serving them.

I was extremely disappointed. We spend a lot of time in St. Augustine and this was the first truly terrible meal weve had! The burger tasted prepackaged and not flavorful at all. The chicken philly was chewy and the quality of the meat very poor. Additionally, the service was slow and unfriendly. I had such high hopes for this place. Dont waste your money!!

True Philly!! I moved to Jax from the Philly burbs, and I really missed a good cheese steak. Found a great one here. The owner is from the Philly area, and knows the difference between a good cheese steak and a poser. They have a bunch of Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies stuff on the walls, and even have some tastycakes. Just like home.

Chicken Philly was incredible! I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, complete with arcade games and Philadelphia memorabilia. Located across the street from the marina, the location was right in the middle of everywhere. Definitely worth a stop when in St Augustine!

Asked for a box after eating half a sandwich and was told they dont have boxes? When I ordered they asked if it was for here or to go, what was I supposed to do carry it out in my hands? AVOID!!! A1A Ale works is right next door with way better food.

I got the chicken cheesesteak and my husband got the regular cheesesteak. One of the best Ive ever had and I could only finish half. They gave me so much chicken and toppings. I was really impressed and will definitely be back.

Ive never been to Philly but I have higher expectations for a cheese steak sandwich than this place has to offer. The meat was too shredded and the bread was just OK. Overall decent place to eat with the family once.

I have had true Philly cheesesteaks from philly and NJ and this is absolutely the closest thing to PA or NJ. Location is a little hard to find but definitely worth it!
