23 June Burger Buckets Update Visited Burger Buckets yesterday with my wife and granddaughters. Their remodeling is complete and it looks AWESOME! There is so much more room throughout the entire space. Even when its busy, someone in a large electric wheelchair like myself, you can easily navigate through it. I had a classic bacon cheeseburger and fry bucket. It was FANTASTIC! Plenty of thick bacon slices full of flavor. Fries were piping hot and tasty. So much food, I couldnt finish it off. Others had the chili cheese dawgs and fries. Their homemade chili was tasty(I had to sample.) Staff was really nice and welcoming(nothing new there.) As always they have earned a 5+ rating. Burger Buckets is definitely a must stop while visiting in the historic part of downtown St Augustine, Fl. It has incredible burgers and hotdogs which makes it a great stop to feed the kids. You can see their great foot long chili cheese dog and fries on my plate. Their dogs are Nathans and in case you arent familiar with Nathan dogs, they are huge and great. They happen to be the special while we were there. For less than $10 books, I got a footlong chili cheese dog, an order of fries that covered a large plate, and homemade lemonade. It was fantastic! It was so much food half of it came home with me for lunch the next day. Along with great food, they are also known for their wonderful fudge and ice cream. We often make a special trip their with the grandchildren for their favorite Superman Ice cream. My favorite is usually Rocky Road or some other something with chocolate in it. With a great variety, Im sure theyll have something for everyone. Another truly great thing about Burger Buckets is their staff. We have been coming here for years and their staff may change out but not their fantastic service. They are awesome with big and little kids alike. They are super patient and generous with their time. OK the two last points that make them AWESOME for visitors and locals alike. They are located along the route of the downtown trollies. The black & red trollies both stop in their parking lot. They are located are just across from the fort and on the last street from down town. Its location makes it an easy location to stop in for lunch, dinner, or just an ice cream on a hot day. For those early birds that are interested in catch a beautiful sunrise of the fort, Mantanzas, or downtown, Buckets also serves breakfast. OK, last thing. For those of you that are really bold. If you think you have what it takes, for 29.95, they have an incredible burger eating contest. It is a delicious mile high burger that can be free if you have what it takes. Now to accessibility. Burger Buckets is one of the more accessible restaurants in the historic area downtown. They have multiple entrances and exits. The room between tables can accommodate large wheelchairs, strollers, and multiple types of walkers. Even with a crowd, there is plenty of room to navigate through the aisles. If you are a visitor, I would like to welcome you to our town If you are a local, I hope we cross paths sometime soon.

I have NEVER written a review in my life but felt this just needed to be known. When we arrived at the restaurant it was not very busy. They seated us but we didnt get our waiter until 15 mins later. When he finally did arrive he took our drink order and returned with them but did not ask us if we were ready to order...and we were. He didnt return to take our order. I had to get up and ask the man working behind the ice cream counter if he could get someone to take our order since our waiter was MIA. I am not sure this mans name but he was apparently the ONLY one working. He immediately came over to our table and started taking our order. Our waiter came after he took our first persons order and the waiter took over. The waiter took half of our order and then started to walk away without taking everyones order. We had to call him back over to finish. I am severely allergic to shellfish and asked the man behind the ice cream counter about the cross contamination of foods. He went and got the owner and brought her over. She explained that they did cross contaminate so I ordered a burger that she made sure would be pan cooked and a salad. (Only good thing that happened). It took FOREVER to get our food and not one order, (except our childrens) was correct. What was most appalling however was that my allergy "clean" hamburger was covered in French fries which I could not consume without risk to my health. Because we waited so long to get our food already, we asked them kindly to remove my order and another order that was completely wrong. We didnt have the rest of our night to wait for them to get it right and honestly didnt trust them to at the risk of my life. We are not unkind people but were so bothered by the service and food that my husband actually stayed behind to talk to the manager. They reduced our bill but still made us pay. I couldnt believe it. If that were my restaurant, I would have been mortified that that had happened to my customers and would have insisted their bill be wiped out. The food that was eaten was subpar. My mother in laws burger was dry and my husband sandwich fell part and he had to eat it with a fork. Needless to say, we will NOT be back there and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone else. The ONLY reason this restaurant got a single star was because of the man behind the counter who was working extremely hard manning the counter and bussing tables. He was also the one that came immediately over and took our order which was not even his job and brought the owner over for my allergy question. If they had a place full of his service attitude, the restaurant might could redeem itself. So sad that I cant remember his name.

I was in there yesterday and i will NEVER return again and i will also let everyone i know the experience i had there. I should have walked out when the person that greeted me and responded to me "i guess a salad with no croutons"..i asked him do you have gluten free. I went in because my kids were excited. So. My wife ordrered a cheeseburger with no bun, she was NEVER asked how she would like it cooked. Needless to say when We received our food, my daughters pizza was as big as her hand and she was so disappointed, it was hard and could barely eat it she ate around the crust kind of pointless when your hungry. It seemed microwaved too long. My wifes burger was served with one slice of tomato and one small leaf of lettuce, very sad looking. on top of it, it was cold and pink inside she asked for it to be cooked again, after she got the waitresses attention, she then tells my wife that unless specified "they are cooked medium well by defualt & i am sorry that looks rare" the waitress never came and asked how things were. She had them remake my wifes burger, when the manager came with the new one he said can you check it, she did and it was still way pink inside and proceedes to tell her that medium well should be 145 degrees"......i looked it up and it says......Medium Well (150-165° F): Grill for 3 minutes, flip, grill for 6 more minutes. She kept it because we just wanted to get the hell out of there, we were in there way to long. To top it off my salad was small as well. For the prices your are asking your food is not worth it at all. And its representation was sad and uncaring. I have family that lives and Florida and i will definitely get the word out. Sad and disgusting. No customer service skills. And to top it all off we were still hungry when we left.
