The Hen House Cafe is a good place to eat. Youll be greeted immediately upon arriving. Your food, which is good, comes quickly. However, there is one thing that sets this eatery apart - the Dementia-Friendly sticker on the door. I have never seen that before and asked Jessica, the waitress, about it. She explained that they were the first business in Citrus County to get the specialized training to help the restaurant wait staff to better serve their guests who suffer from Dementia. She told me that the word has now spread and other businesses in the area have taken the training which is run by a local woman whos husband suffered from this debilitating disease. Be sure to stop by and support this business next time youre looking for a down home place to eat that really cares about making all their guests feel comfortable.

Definitely our favorite spot for breakfast on the weekends. Hen House offers a full menu of breakfast items, daily/weekly specials, and decent portion sizes to ensure youre fueled up for the day. Our food is always cooked well and plenty tasty, and the employees are very courteous and helpful. The restaurant can get very busy on weekend mornings so be prepared to wait a little if you go during peak hours. If youre looking for a good home-cooked breakfast in Inverness, though, its worth the wait.

I love this restaurant because of the down-home cooking and atmosphere. Its very cheerful and bright inside with wonderful service and very reasonable prices. Its usually fairly busy, which is a good sign that its a great place to eat. We only had to wait about 10 minutes one time because we had 9 people in our party. My husband loves the Reuben sandwich and I love to get the mexican breakfast wrap!

I love going to this little restaurant for breakfast. The food is always fresh and made from scratch. My husband loves the chicken fried steak and eggs. Their omelettes are very good and be sure to try the hash brown casserole! The service is always friendly!

OH SNAP. This is one of the crazier places Ive been in Florida. The average age of the patrons is around 78. Food was decent, took longer than expected, probably because we werent 78. As to the food, it was decent dinner food, cant complain.

The biscuits and gravy here are the bomb! The hash brown skillet with homemade wheat toast is awesome too :) Great,friendly staff,inexpensive. Definitely worth the small wait!
