This historical landmark has been through several transitions from a grocers market into a bank into what it stands as now--a down-to-earth wonderful ,Cuban-owned restaurant. The bread is fresh daily, the meat is seasoned right on the grill, and the coffee is made using an antique process of what some Tampanians might call "the sock." Cant find a better place to eat some classic cuban sandwiches and a rich cup of coffee. Armando is an upstanding professional, whose rapport with his customers is as vital to him as providing excellent service. You want a good place to eat some fast food for cheap? You want a place to drink some authentic cuban coffee? 4th of July is a must for any and all people who visit the Tampa Bay area.

I go out of my way to visit every small, little known or well known Cuban Sandwich restaurant or deli in Tampa. This is my personal favorite. They bake the sandwich, no butter or olive oil (as many say was the original) not pressed. Add a crab for a great lunch! If you need valet parking or air conditioning, youre not ready for a great lunch. Read the reviews all over the internet, there is nothing negative to say!

I have vivid memories of my grandfather and father taking me here as a little boy. I remember eating the hot bread with butter on it. The Cuban Coffee is the best around. Nothing has changed in the 30 years I have been going. What a great tradition. My sons are just about the age to where they are going to form their own memories of the cafe.

Even after I havent eaten here in a few years, I came back today and nothing has changed. The burgers have the best flavor and the cafe is simple and clean. Adore this place.
