My friend and I went to this restaurant because we were in the area for her triathlon and I had my puppy so we needed a dog friendly restaurant (I also add that I prefer to go to individual/small business restaurants than chain restaurants). First take, we sat down and our waitress brought out a bowl of water for the dog moments later, and it is a very cute establishment. Cool! We ordered our food and my friend needed carbs because she was crashing, she asked for croutons on her side salad, told no, she asked for bread (its a sandwich shop, and they just stopped serving breakfast a half hour prior), nope. We got our food and it was mediocre. We asked for dessert, and both of us were told, "no they couldnt do that," for items that are on the menu. We were told to go in and see what they had available because she couldnt tell us. We both went in individually (my passing my puppy off to my friend) and looked to see what was available, and I ordered pumpkin cake (regular slice and gluten free slice for my mother back home.) I was told theyd give the slice of cake to me when we were leaving. We had been told prior that our checks were going to be inside. I went in to ask for our tabs (my friend still with the puppy) and I was told we had to come in and take care of our tabs. Ummm, theres a dog at our table? Even taking turns to come in, Florida liability holds a dog owner responsible for their dog (naturally, and I was risking with leaving my friend in charge) so why should the dog be left unattended when you can simply print it up so I can take them out to the table, or do what many other establishments would have done and bring the checks out so we dont need to worry about leaving the dog period (in addition to knowing whats available and unavailable on your menu to prevent an owner from walking away from their dog.) I went back outside and my friend was doing well with the puppy so I grabbed both of our cards to run inside and get the bills printed up for us, then run back outside again for her signature on her receipt, and run them back inside. By this time I was so ticked off I ended up leaving without the cake for my mother (partly my fault for not reminding them for the cake, but come on ladies, stop chit chatting in the kitchen and pay attention to your customers.) Enjoy the paid for piece of cake ladies! For the cherry on top, the girl who I saw preparing the food in the back had no hair net, gloves, or apron on. Just her hair braided off to the side, in her every day clothes. I pray the service and food was 100x better for this place to have received such a high rating because I have only ever written one other negative review until today and even 2 stars is a gift. Will not be recommending this place, and will highly discourage it.

Food seems to have changed to smaller portions, and not as good. Its not open on Sundays, which is a huge let down. And they dont have wifi, so dont try to sit outside and get work done. This is an edited review, as I gave it another shot recently. I had a better experience but it wasnt much improved. I still raised it to 3 stars just because I feel thats fair. Ill say this: open on Sundays, and itd be 4-stars. Offer free wifi to customers, and Id probably put it to 5-stars.

Used to be one of the best little finds, food used to be great. So what "secret ingredients" in your honey mustard dressing, we WILL figure it out! Your ROASTED TURKEY CRANBERRY sandwich on stale bread awful. The turkey was sliced "DELI MEAT:" WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL ROASTED TURKEY....WILL NEVER BRING MY GUESTS BACK....AWFUL, AND WILL SHARE WITH EVERYONE I KNOW....advertise correctly, you should know better! Almond slices now from Sisco, shame, shame, shame....

A lunch for two is only slightly more than what you may pay at another local restaurant, but totally worth it for what you are offered. Generous helpings of unique and tasty soup, salad, or sandwich creations. The owners and staff are welcoming and the decor is lovely. It totally reminds me of some of the small eateries we stopped in in the Highlands. And Oh. . . the pastries are to die for!

Food and service is great! I am vegan and they dont have any menu items that are vegan. However they were really accommodating and patient. They had a Garlic Mushroom soup of the day...vegan friendly and delish! Also use soy milk as a dairy milk substitute. My husband got the bacon and brie sandwich and he loved it. Great spot in a cute part of town.

Stopped by for late lunch, and Im so glad I did. Located across from the gift/artisan shops in the "tourist district". The menu is simple yet divine. Ordered spinach quiche & it was utterly delicious! Outdoor dining on the front porch was a plus. Staff here is super friendly & top notch. Inside is clean & cozy.

Weve gone there several times in Feb/March 2008 & 2009 - absolutely love it. The owners and staff are friendly (family owned and operated), genuine Scots, and the food is second to none. Sandwiches, snacks, wonderful desserts, youll love it, and it wont hurt your pocketbook! Bob & Geri, from Winnipeg.Canada

I met a friend here for lunch and we both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I had the bacon brie sandwich on ciabatta bread and salad along with the cauliflower soup. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be having more lunch dates here.

Such a cute little area we just happened to stumble upon! The staff were very kinda, prompt, and helpful with all of our questions. I got the kona mocha and the ham, egg and cheese sandwich; both were delicious! Highly recommend them; they were so fresh! Its definitely a must stop!

After reading a few other reviews we stopped by here. The ciabattas were good but were very very small. The salad I got with it had brown lettuce. For almost nine dollars this is unacceptable. Our server was very nice and the atmosphere was cozy cabin feel, very nice.

Sweet little cafe in the historic section of crystal river. The food is basic but tasty. They have really delicious coffee too. If the weather is nice, grab a casual lunch outside on the deck.
