normally I go to sakura in cape coral. But was willing to try a different place that I have heard of. so we get to kumos and they are a ghost town one person wanted habatchi as they have been there before and was sat at the habatchi they declined to sit us there. note there where 4 adults and 1 child. so we sat somewhere else. the server was beyond rude. this is why. She did not speak loud enough for me to hear when I asked what was in a soup. when we ordered drink the 3 others ordered then I ordered 2 unsweetened teas then she proceeded to ask me what I would like to drink. we ordered our food finally got it one of the rolls was made from tuna in a can. my son ate his food we did not see her for so long and he has asked for another roll so i had to go to the sushi bar and order it after it was made i had to pick it up myself. towards the end of the meal my son asked to go to the restroom as I came out the waitress was talking saw me gave me the omg im busted look so in tern i knew she was talking about us. i told her that she is rude for talking about customers to other employees. i then tried to speak to the "manager" she did nothing but said sorry. worst place ever will not ever go there again!!!

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and love this restaurant. The hibachi is excellent, their lunch specials rock, and the sushi is the best in Fort Myers. Last time we were there, the server noticed it was 5 minutes to the end of happy hour and took 2 round of drink orders immediately. She brought out the second round (2 for one drinks, beers) 40 minutes after happy hour was over, at no charge. However, the food is the real draw. We have been playing around with appetizers and find their pork dumplings (and anything raw) are out of this world. Full of juices and flavor - each person will want their own plate. The hibachi is excellent and we have been going for their sushi In short, these are top choices: Gyoza (pork dumpling) Sashimi appetizer (excellent, fresh) Hibachi are all good (lunch Hibachi and Bento box specials have great prices) Sushi - any and all rolls are awesome and reasonably priced. Look for a roll wrapped in cucumber instead of rice with cream cheese. It is OUTSTANDING. A must visit in Fort Myers.

Usually Kumo is our favorite place to go for special dates. Last night was my girlfriends and I second year anniversary. The service was terrible all night. The cook was to busy flirting with one of the workers rather than greeting or entertaining us. While cooking the food, he didnt let it cook long enough and we were served raw veggies, little to non seasoned rice, and could not tell the difference between raw steak and medium well. When all the food was divided we got less than half the food we had paid for. After the cook had left the hostess serving us brought our tabs, and came back with an attitude when our gift card got declined. After calling the gift card company and trying again to use it, she then proceeds to say " if you can not afford to eat out, then dont come at all". Needless to say, it was the worst anniversary dinner we have ever went to, and she did not receive a tip.

Bad customer service before even being seated. A large party was waiting when my party of 4 arrived. Once someone came to the front, they did not greet any newcomers that came in since the large party. I went up to the person at the counter and asked about wait time for a party of 4. He said if hibachi we could wait with the large party of 15. If not, we could be seated immediately. He made no effort to seat us or have someone seat us. Another group came in after us and someone with the wait list happened to approach the front desk. A member of the group that had just walked in just skipped everyone in line to tell about their party. This is 2016 and you only write down your wait list. To be a $$$ restaurant you should have something more modern (wait pager, text, app, etc.). My family and I walked out the door and enjoyed Applebees instead. Thanks Kumo for saving me $.

This had to be one of my worst experiences at a Japanese steak house. 1st being rushed through the whole entire meal by the waitress. She was pushy did not give me time to review the menu, even when asked to give me sometime to order she stood right in front of me and just glared so I just ordered something to have her leave me alone. The chicken that was ordered was extremely rubbery. The hibachi chef was entertaining and did put on a great show while being extremely friendly. While enjoying and conversing the waitress trying to rush not just my group but the people next to us as well out in the middle of the ear infuriated me. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone of they are looking for good customer service. I would consider this place a place to pick up lunch if u call way ahead and for takeout only. Thank you miss "banana queen".

I come here for the food, not the service. If you know whats good on the menu and your not under time constraints (30 - 45 minutes to eat and leave) then you should be good. My service here has ranged from average to down right terrible, but going there knowing what to expect has made it doable. Occasionally I will call my food in ahead of time so that its ready when I get there, even if Im eating there. Some of my favorites are the summer roll, the house salad with ginger dressing, and their fried rice with yum yum sauce. I in no way condone bad service (having served for over 7 years), but for what I get for the price will continue to come here.

Something has changed ... Weve been several times now and this last time was not good. We sat at the bar to have a drink while we were waiting for others to come in for Hibachi. Staff was scattered and not too concerned that we were even there. Nobody was behind the bar and we had to ask for a server to wait on us. Food at the Hibachi table was good but we were served in a random order that made no sense. First we were served vegetables, then rice, then the shrimp appetizer and then our main entrée. Sauces were changed too and not as good as they were before. Not sure what is going on here or if we simply had an "off" night.

We visited last night. It took about 15 minutes, the staff was rude and unprepared. After letting others go ahead of us that came in later, they were going to cram our party of 2 between a broken up larger party. They just waived us on, but did not try to seat us. After the lack of confidence we had in the management and staff, we decided to leave without eating. People, if you are going to run a restaurant in a community where many restaurants are failing, please have your stuff together. We will probably never come back here and we will most likely tell everyone we know about our experience.
