Amura is a very trendy sushi bar with decor that will impress your friends. The atmosphere is great but unfortunately I cant eat the atmosphere. The variety in rolls is unparalleled offering everything from the very tame cucumber rolls containing cucumber, rice and nori (seaweed) to the more exotic volcano rolls containing tuna, cream cheese, rice and nori and then topped by faux crab meat, cellophane noodles and a spicy red sauce. As you can see Amura isnt afraid to make a roll too big and this is part of the problem. Sushi is supposed to be eaten in one bite but with the size of their more interesting rolls you would have to have a mouth like a sumo wrestler to get the task done. Amura is more concerned with the look of their rolls than the taste or size. The rolls all look amazing but the fish tends to be more sinewy than sushi in this price range should be. It should be noted that for sushi, this is the most expensive you will find at an average of $11.00 for a roll that contains 6-8 pieces of sushi, most diners will need two rolls and theyll probably have room for some soup or salad too. All in all, great atmosphere + good but not great sushi = good place to take a date or family but maybe not the aficionado in your group of friends.

I had a stop over recently in Orlando, Florida and a good friend of mine persuaded me that I must try out Amura Japanese restaurant for their amazing variety of sushi rolls. And that he of course would meet me there too. We ate at their sand lake road location. The place looked newly remodeled and it was packed...both good signs in my book. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess and manager on duty. We ordered about 7 or 8 different rolls - we can pound some sushi! The rolls were unbelievable!! Fresh, delicious, and mouth watering. They had some really unique dishes that i had to take pictures of and post to facebook. It also arrived at our table quickly and constantly. That actually could have been a little slower - but hey... who complains about getting your food quickly...especially sushi? We had their famous Bubba Roll, a Hawaiian Roll, Rainbow Roll, a Tuna Tower, Salmon Skin Roll, Volcano Roll, and Mango Tango Roll. My mouth is watering again right now just thinking about all that amazing sushi!! Thanks Amura and next time im in Orlando Ill be def visiting you again. I highly recommend this place to anybody visiting Central Florida!

I was here 10 years ago for a homecoming dinner I will never forget. I met up with a bunch of friends for sushi dinner here and while we had a good time I easily remembered how bland and boring the sushi was. At the time they would say 8-10 pieces and of course...theyd only give you 8. The prices for exorbitant (especially compared to the publix next door) and in the end, I got shoved out the door! I was holding it open for my friends to leave the place and the old Korean guy who worked there shoved me out the door because I held it open too long for my friends. Ive been infuriated with this place ever since and have never gone back. Unless youve been to Japan (which I do countless times a year), the slop served at this place cannot compare. Unless management has changed, I still have very strong feelings about this place even after a decade. Your money would be best saved for a ticket for a more reasonable and tasty Japanese restaurant in NYC than here.

Although the food is rated good dont expect the service to be. This was the worst dining experience in Orlando Ive ever had. The server was very unattentive to us. The meals came out at different times - the restaurant is incredibly cramped. Another diner spilled water all over the floor and onto me. No apology by her. I was in the middle of my meal and the manager and staff member came over with the dirtiest mop youve ever seen and started mopping the floor inches from me. When I asked them if they could at least wait until I was done eating the manager argued with me and told the employee to continue. He didnt offer to move our table or apologize for the inconvenience. I couldnt eat the rest of my meal because of how rude he was and unsanitary. If you enjoy eating next to filthy dirty mops and being treated like dirt- ENJOY!

This Amura used to be my favorite 寿司 restaurant for years. But over the last 2 years Ive seen them layoff the only 2 Japanese chefs (guys that had worked there for over 5 years, 6 days a week). And theyve hired less experienced (cheaper) "chefs". Also their food quality has gone down significantly, especially at the sushi bar. I never had fishy sashimi until recently. Im sorry to say it, but this place is not worth it anymore. I will never come back. If you want real Japanese, try 心寿司 (Shin Sushi) on Orange Ave.

My finace and I ate here after scouring orlando for a sushi restaurant. What a good find for a vacationing couple. I have to say I have eaten sushi and sashimi all over our town about two hours south. We will drive back there and stay again just to enjoy this restaurant. I only wish they had one in our city. Amazing sashimi. Professional curteous staff. Delicious mixed drinks and all around awesome decor. I highly recommend this for anyone who has high standards for thier dining.

Ottima cucina con piatti preparati al momento e a vista, con una buona dose di ironia e scenografia. Il risultato finale è ottimo per qualità e quantità. Il prezzo un po sopra la media è ampiamente giustificato.

Buyer beware. Four of us went here on a business dinner and three of us were over charged by only $1. When we called into the Manager, Jesse he laughed at our claim. The dollar doesnt matter as much as that they are committing Fraud. The amount they are overcharging is low enough to where the credit card companies wont prosecute. Furthermore the wait staff was uneducated on traditional Japanese fair and continually tried to up-sell us on each order.

Sushi muito bom, uma enorme diversidade de saques, ambiente bacana, maitre atencioso (fala um espanhol muito bom) e tem ate um garçom brasileiro. Só o preco que eh um pouco salgado. Vale a visita.

Pricey for the service. Food is ok. Yesterday when I was there with friends, the restaurant was closing at 10:30 but at 9:30 staff started cleaning all the tables, like moving them, putting chairs up, using cleaning products while we were there eating, making lots of noises like no one was there. And that was not the first time that happened to me. Not coming back for sure, I learned my lesson this time.

Ive had some service issues in the past at this Amura, but I think theyve really corrected them. Years ago, the service was the worst in town. I think they had some management turnover and fixed the issues. The sushi has always been my favorite in town even as new sushi restaurants have popped up. Its excellent. They recently remodeled and improved the layout and decor.

Sincerely the most exquisite Japanese restaurant in Central Florida. The theme is very eccentric and vivacious. This reputable establishment gives excellent service, presentation, and atmosphere. Do not be deterred to order from the Korean menu as well! Every dish from the calamari to their tataki is outstanding. It is a place to experience time after time.
