This family-run place is simply great. You dont get home cooked food like this anymore. My wife and I came in for dinner and while the place was a little out of the way, it turned out to be quite cozy inside. I had the escargot special pasta and my wife had the chicken porcini crepe and both were delectable. I was a little apprehensive about ordering escargot as a main dish (Ive enjoyed it as an appetizer) but the white wine and shallot cream sauce with sun dried tomatoes just sounded like such a winning combination I had to try it. Boy am I glad I did, never have I had such a tasty pasta sauce, let alone one with escargots. Highly recommend if theyre still running it as a special (I would suggest making it a permanent part of the menu). My wife also really enjoyed her crepe. Weve had crepes before but I have to admit Ive never had one like the ones at Salt n Pepper Bistro. The crepe fills in an entire plate and is generously filled with whatever you are ordering, in our case chicken and porcini mushrooms in a whiskey cream sauce and swiss cheese. Simple yet delicious (I obviously had a bite or two). My wife also really liked how the crepes were grilled a bit as to make the cheese on the ends and the crepe a little crispy as opposed to just a soft crepe that is then filled with fillings. For dessert we decided to split crepes suzette. Ive had my fair share of crepes suzette, especially when we travel to France, and this was by far in the top best crepes suzette Ive ever had. Light, yet the orange sauce tangy but not overly so. Such a great end to a great meal. Chef Jean-Claude came out towards the end when Im assuming he had a moment to check on customers and he was a polite and jovial man who obviously enjoyed his craft. Our waitress/hostess, his wife, was also a pleasure. Long story short: delicious food, great service and cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be back and next time I have my eye on the duck a lorange!

My wife and I have been to Clearwater a few times since we just got a vacation condo and always try and find a new place to eat with each visit. Somehow we never noticed this place but end up on tripadvisor looking at how restaurants were rated and this one looked good so we tried it. We liked it so much, we went back the very next night. The food was that good. From our appetizers to the main meal - each was done to perfection and delicious. We were both sharing our food with each other, "No... you have to try this!" Well, actually I was guilty the first night of slamming down my escargot before offering to share and took some heat on that. hah On both nights, we loved our meals. I should mention I am a pretty decent cook, and while not a food snob, I can appreciate a job well done. Everything was a marvellous. But what I liked most about the place was the owners, the husband is the chef and his wife handles the guests. They are both warm, funny, friendly, the kind of people you want to be around if you were at a social gathering. We got there late, so we had the place mostly to our selves, which was fortunate as we were able to share some stories, and many a laugh. I have been to pretty much every place in the area, and I have to say I enjoyed Salt & Pepper the most. Good food, good people.

Atmosphere was absolutely nothing special, not quant nor unique. Defenitely not romantic. Service was rushed and waitress unhelpful in any way when asking question....and became agitated and surley when we pointed out a problem. The type of food we experienced was mediocre and not french. Was akin to what you might find at Applebees . Exept Applebees would be better in quality and value. My dish had zero presentation and the only flavor detectable was excessive salt. Value was the lowest score, way overpriced....Had they delivered on one criteria at all like atmosphere or superb food ? I could make a favorable case. I really had to write such a negative review but I wish I would have been warned. If you have traveled and appreciate good food and a nice dining experience, you should pass on this place. The chef came out and tried to engage us in coversation but it fell flat and kinda felt not authentic. The jokes the accent seemed like some shtik, so e peole may like this but we are not at Disneyland.

This restaurant is excellent. The location is small and understated but tasteful. The food is delicious. The chef is very invested in what he does and takes great pride in his work. He should be proud too. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never been anything short of pleased. Fresh and delicious. The chef personally comes out and wants to know how your experience was. Great guy and great chef. I do want to say that after reading these reviews I have to comment on the slander jobs. The vast majority of the reviews are either 5 stars and the only ones that arent are 1 star. If you dont like the food or its not your thing, thats ok. But to say its "awful" or a "disgrace" is ridiculous. These people have an agenda. The food is awesome. Strongly recommend the restaurant. By the way, the "tasteless, bland" French Onion Soup is the best Ive ever had. The Bisque is amazing too. Please disregard the negative reviews and give this wonderful restaurant the chance it deserves.

We when to that super bistro because some of our friends keep praising this place. What a surprise, the building is kind of incognito but as soon as you step in you know it is going to be amazing, the place is so clean and well decorated. The waitress (owner wife of the chef) is doing an incredible job. We ordered escargot and cheese pastry as appetizers, it was so good, the flavors, wow. We then got our dinner, after a complimentary and yet very nice house salad, I had the duck a lorange that was prepared to perfection with scalloped potatoes and veggie mix. My wife had the salmon crepe and it was just perfect as well. For desert we shared a lemon crepe with whipped cream. The Chef stopped by our table and has such a passion for what he does and like to share it, he has something to say to all the guest with such a joie de vivre. Thank you we will definitely be back. Make reservation as the place is small.

Ive been here a couple of times before and each time is just as good as the last. The worst part is that my stomach isnt big enough to eat everything on the menu! The french onion soup here is probably the best Ive had anywhere. It comes with a delectable amount of cheese on top and the flavor is absolutely amazing. It was difficult to choose, but I eventually settled on the Norwegian Pasta. If you are a lover of sauces this place does not disappoint. Every single dish I have had here always comes with the most exquisite of sauces. The Norwegian pasta comes with a really lovely cream sauce unlike any other Ive had. To end the night I had one of their delicious desert crepes. The one that I had was called the Martinique and is by far one of my favorite desert crepes. Overall I had a really nice time there and will be eagerly awaiting the time when I will be able to visit again.
