Never will I EVER go to this diner again. I was never so humiliated and insulted in my life. I was told by my friends the same thing happened to them and I should have listened. The owner/mgr was rude, obnoxious and insulting just because I wanted to be seated while I waited for my party to arrive (I wanted to order our food in advanced). I was visiting with some friends/family and was told to wait in a corner (where he pointed) until they arrived. I knew they were only a couple mins behind me. He then told me if I didnt like it I could take my business elsewhere. WHAT? It was not busy, there were plenty of table free and I am not a young kid. Afer asking again I was seated with a huge attitude. WHAT? After asking to order coffee and never being waited on, menus thrown on the table, I said well maybe I should go elsewhere and was told -- then go. WHAT? I never heard of such a thing!!!!! I was so embarrased. I left in a hurry and responded to him as I was leaving I would never come back again and the man then followed me out the door. My friend was arriving, saw the whole thing I started telling her we were going someplace else and the guy was STILL going on and on...in front of other customers,..outside! I could not imagine being more humiliated. Do not go there, my friend shook her head and said to me -- I told you so.

Always hospitable from Years ago, even when my parents were alive, they were sure to give them same booth , ( if and when available ), and the owner, he ALWAYS had them stay for a special little treat after their meal. When my Dad passed last March (15), I took my mom for lunch...we waited, as mom wanted the same booth she sat so many times in with my dad...in the door, to the right and under the TV. I sat on Dads side, as the owner came out from kitchen in tears, learning my Dad had passed. Now Mom is also gone (Feb 16), and I am finding it difficult to go back, for I cried with them last time I was there. He, ( the owner ), didnt skip a beat in treating my mom and I with the same amazing, hospitable service that he and the staff did when both of my parents were alive. Now that things have settled a bit...I will carry on Mom and Dads visits with my husband, and we will welcome the terrific food, staff, and amazing and caring owners. I can never thank them enough for the excellent food, and amazing personable customer service that was shown to my parents, as well as all the customers. I wish you continued success...and please keep serving that delicious rice pudding..

Ive had a very mixed set of emotions with this place. They used to be awesome, slowly got to be pretty bad, and now seem to be on the rise again. The owner is very nice, and I like him. The food tends to be pretty good now, but it wasnt always. I recently got a chicken souvlakie wrap and my wife got a buffalo chicken wrap. Another occasion, I got a really good burger. So I have to say that the place is getting better. The service still hasnt been great, however. This was an issue that doesnt seem to have been resolved. Overall, Im not convinced that this place is better. But, I dont think you wont like your meal here. Its a traditional diner menu with good diner food, for now.

I visited this diner a couple of times, the first I was told I had to sit at the counter if I wasnt ordering food. This time I went just for coffee sat at the counter, had 2 cups of coffee and got a bill for over $5.00. When I questioned it they said no free refills if you dont order food. Did you ever hear of such a thing? Very upsetting Their food is mediocre....I will stay with the Plaza Diner, food is great and you can have all the coffee you want.

The black beans are an amazing must have for me. The California Cobb salad is beautifully delicious. The cheesecake is sooo good. And its made in house. All the ingredients are fresh. So many great things to eat and drink. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. And you can usually find the owner there in the trenches helping out making sure everything is top notch. Such a wonderful place! A regular stop for me and my family.

Unenjoyable experience. They do not allow substitutions on omelets. I tried substituting tomatoes for onions and they refused. No where on the menu does it state substitutions are not allowed. Unprofessional remarks and stares were made by staff. I asked to see someone in charge and she brought another coworker. Hopefully someone in charge actually sees this so they can learn from it and make a change.

I went out of my way to try this diner. It says it opens at 6am I was there at 610am and there was only 1 car in the parking lot and no lights on? This was a Friday morning there was also another car that pulled in tried the door and left. Of your not open dont advertise it!

This is the diner. Anytime you mention "the diner" around town, everyone knows this is what you are talking about. Although they are no longer open 24hrs, it is still a good place to go late or for just a bite. You cant go wrong.

Chose it because of previous ratings/reviews. Clean, pleasant with an interesting, comfort food menu. We enjoyed the meatloaf melt and bacon, potato, onion hash with eggs and hollandaise. In the diner class, a 5. Well be back.

Best diner staff around. If youre used to diners that have rude staff, this place will freak you out. All but maybe one time the staff has been amazing! Food is great, especially the blue plate comfort foods. Good coffee too.

Riverdale Diner has improved tremendously since the revamped the menu. The Diablo Hash breakfast was excellent, and it came with two side items. Service was good and the servers were friendly. Ill definitely be going back!

Great go to on Sunday morning for the two egg, sausage,bacon,hash browns and French toast or pancake plate. We have always been able to get seated and the coffee refills are endless!

Wonderful menu, everything from strawberry, Mandarin salad to potato pancakes. My husband had the Riverdale breakfast, it was delicious! Prices are good. Restrooms were very clean

They have slashed their menu to half if not more than half of what it used to be. The pizza fries are gone but everything they have left is pretty standardas is the taste.
