Sure the food is "okay". I like the Brickhouse much better. Meals average $15-20 a plate and the service is worse that McDonalds. We had everything arrive at the same time. Plates cleared by staff that didnt speak English (Spanish was their first language) and we were rushed. Clearly there is much better Italian food in the area. We were so upset. I asked to speak with the manager. Her name was Maria. She gave me an attitude but finally agreed to give us a something to have us try them again. Honestly, it was more than I expected (dinner for two gift certificate) I had planned to use this to go out with a friend of mine that loves this restaurant. However, I gave it to her as a thank you for a favor she did. They gave her a hard time about using it as it wasnt marked "paid". Ya... like we print them in the basement. Here are her comments from an email: "...Oh, I have to ask you about the Italia Mia gift certificate. How did you get that again? When I went last night to get dinner they gave me a hard time because whoever issued the certificate didnt mark it as paid. It took almost 10 minutes before they finally let me have my dang dinner. I couldnt believe the hard time they gave me. Some people!" My advice go to the Brickhouse or the Upper Crust. The food is good but the experience and the quality is not remotely to the price you pay and the treatment you get!

Very disappointing. Service was terrible. It was probably 10-15 minutes after we were seated before anyone came near us. Although an apparent remodel had taken place, it was done in poor taste, and was cold and unwelcoming, including the lighting. There were (clearly) very old & used tables, and no table clothes. Not even a placemat. And the food? A big thumbs down. You could tell the salads (iceberg lettuce) were pre-made and the individual bowls kept in the fridge uncovered. Mine chicken parm and pasta was mediocre. My friends was practically inedible. It was just a pasta bolognese, but it was very salty. She realized it was the pasta that was basically inedible, so apparently there was a salting accident when cooking the pasta. She wasnt charged for her meal (which is the only reason I gave it a 2nd star).

Marinara sauce is very heavy. They have a pasta special on Wednesday nights. $9.99 for pasta and salad. Good deal if you find one you like. Dont order the small salad to go as it comes in a tiny cup. Not worth the price when other local places will give a nice salad.

Very poor quality of food. Ordered our steak medium came back rare and so grizzled. Yuck. Special said came with a baked potato. Got mashed instead. Futuremore, there was a stench of B O in the air.The waitress never came back to check on us at all.

YUM!! Never ever had a bad experience here in 20 or so years- love the addition of the bar and karaoke machine!!! Their white pizza is the BEST in CT.
