I was driving up on business with a partner when I yelped Italian restaurants in my current area and Castello showed up. Pulling up you dont know what to expect from the red brick building, I pulled underneath the restaurant to the parking area with came in handy especially since it was raining. When I walked up the marble stair case I was greeted by a staff member and escorted to a table. Castello has a old world Italian feel that makes your instantly comfortable, me and my partner ordered a bottle of wine from the Wine list (which is pretty big) and we told the specials of the night and given the menus. The waitstaff never presses you to speed up or smothers you too much like some places I have been, they are very professional and there when you need them. Enough about the service, they had branzino as a special which is de boned table side with a no bone gate tee from our waiter, and my partner ordered the rigatoni bolognese which was to die for. For dessert we had home made cheese cake and chocolate lava cake with ice cream, and I enjoyed a real Italian espresso short and strong they way they should be. All in all we both enjoyed the restaurants food , ambiance, and service so much that this will be a must stop every time I swing by the Danbury area. The only down side is that it gets a little loud when busy, but I can live with that. The locals are very lucky to have such a fine dinning establishment in the area to enjoy.

We had a wonderful experience at Castello. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We started with the fried calamari, and I had the filet mignon special which was very tasty. My husband wanted the fra diavlo sauce but asked if they could make it with clams and mussels in place of the shrimp that it was listed with. They accommodated our request with no problems and even added some calamari as well. The staff was very attentive and we had a wonderful evening. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have had dinner and lunch here about 50 times to say the least and every single time everything has been nothing but excellent. I always get the Caesar salad which is prepared table side and for a main course the branzino when its available deboned table side with the lemon herb sauce its to die for. Desert you can never go wrong with the home made italian style cheesecake. If you want fresh italian home style cuisine with great service that wont break the bank this is the place to go in the greater danbury area.

I was traveling from Maine when I stopped in to this cozy Italian restaurant. Did not know what to expect big brick building under neath parking, a soon as I opened the door the marble stair case took me some where else. The food it to die for the service is friendly with out being in your face, you can tell its a family afar. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone traveling or even to the locals if they dont know about this place yet( which would be a shame)

Ive lived in Danbury 16 years and came here for the first time tonight. This place is fabulous. All of the food was excellent. I had the mussels in red sauce for an appetizer and the shrimp fra diavolo as the entre. A bit spicy (which I love). The wait staff was right on target. Honestly I cant say anything negative about it whatsoever. Will definitely be back. Thank you Castello....

service was extremely slow. we were there for almost 20 min before we even got a menu. kept having to "yell" (literally) for the waiter when we needed anything for we felt like he forgot we were there. the food was OK. his meal was good but my chicken was very dry, overcooked.
